Does anybody know if you can display the value of the average fuel consumption on the dash board of a 2005 rd7 model?
2 answers
Yes. I am not sure if the Japanese domestic model has it, but I know that the export version definitely had the digital indicator.
Yes it is on one of the options for the odometer screen. Just push the knob and watch the display change till you see the average fuel consumption displayed.

I have a 2001 CR_V and the key jammed in the ignition. Bought and replaced the ignition cylinder but it seems to have set off the security fuel cut off. The red light on the original factory radio has gone out. The engine turns over but won't fire. Any suggestions?

Bring it to a dealer or some mechanic who has the obd2 tools to reprogram the computer

I have a 2002 model CRV. In the last year, it has started to blow a puff of blue smoke after its idled for a few seconds. It doesn't always do it, it's very intermittent. Checked the pcv valve and it's ok. Cannot find the egr valve but when l do, it will be checked. Has anyone else had this issue and how was it fixed? Thanks team.
3 answers
sounds like valve stem seals...it will keep doing it till they are replaced
Thanks. l think you are right. just seemed a bit odd it doesn't do it from cold start. only after idle. Time to Upgrade!
Agree with Gruffo. Mine blows smoke and smells bad slowing down from high speed or coming down a hill so yeah, valve stem seals.

Hie. My rear differential on my 98 crv rd1 is starting to shudder somewhat. The Hona dual pump2 oil is not available in my country (Zimbabwe) even though there is a local Honda dealership they don't seem to stock it. Is there an alternative to the oil? One mechanic said CVT oil will work the same way but I'm not too sure. Your advice please help

I have Penrite ( Aussie brand) Honda diff fluid but I can't be bothered replacing it. It only squeals when chucking a U turn so not worth doing IMO.
Update, just changed my diff fluid with the Penrite stuff and the squeal, shudder is gone on all but the tightest full lock turns. This will fix the squeal for sure.

i have a 2004 Honda CRV, had it since NEW. For the most part I love my car. I have a question for you. When I am driving, suddenly the Drive light on the dash board starts to flash. It does not ever stop whilst I am driving. Can you please tell me why it is doing this? This has been going on now for the past year. There is also another problem, about 6 times this has happened over the last year as well....
It has just stopped on me twice, and 4 times it has only just started, weakly, like it is not functioning on all cylinders. A friend suggested to have someone look at the fuel injector. i have always had it serviced regularly, and mechanics have not found the problem.
Looking forward to hearing from you.
Jeanette Gatti.

does anybody answer these questions in a professional capacity?
Of course mechanical repairs and servicing workshop can't find the problem as it seems like an electrics fault possibly in the onboard computer - I'd recommend you take the vehicle to a Honda Australia workshop or perhaps a auto electrician shop such as ultratune or kmart tyres and auto might be able to help
Shops like ultratune are experts at diagnosis and repairs of faults and are cheaper than the original manufacturers workshops and if the vehicle isn't under warranty then that's great though if it's still under warranty the car dealers workshop is supposed to fix the problem under warranty

How many km's would a 2002 cr-V Honda get from a full tank?
2 answers
About 150 km i rekon!
Depends on the size of the tank = I don't know how many litres the 2002 model holds. However on my 2013 CRV-4WD auto I get about 560km before the 'range' indicator says 0kms - at which point there is about 8-10litres left in the tank. Extrapolating from that I'd expect 650-700 before it would run bone dry.

Hi! What sorts of l/km you got on your brand new crv? I had the vehicle for a week and it's consuming 13.7 l/km. Might be just because most trips are just short trips <3kms to the mall, hospital and daycare. Does your fuel economy improve over time? I have a 4wd crv.
7 answers
My CRV is a 2WD, the fuel economy on the dash display went down over the first 100km (if your just going off the electronic display window then it may not be accurate, I double checked when I fuelled up vs the amount of km's I had travelled).
Hey,
My honda crv is a fuel guzzler, they all are. I would say thats normal :)
Depends where and how you drive and over what period you are are driving. If you've had it for a week and only doing the short distances you quote - I doubt if you've even used a full tank. The number on the dashboard dispaly is variable - it adjusts to driving speed etc approx every couple of minutes. Look at it immediately after you've filled up - first reading could be 48l/km the second 16, the third less and so on. Fill up at service station at the top of a big hill, and (with an automatic), foot off the accelerator you'd record something like 5l/100km by the time you reached the bottom.
I've had 2013 CRV 4WD since new and over all conditions - country runs and peak hour (in Perth it's hardly worthy of the name compared to Sydney and Melbourne) it averages 8.7l/100km. On a drive north to Geraldton (about 440kms) I can achieve around 7l/100kms at an average speed of a tad over 100km/hr.
Coming back - same road - 9l/100 - the difference is the prevailing wind (not the vehicle) coming of the Indian Ocean. Fuel consumption is a combination of the vehicle's engine efficiency, road and weather conditions and driver efficiency - the last being the least efficient!

Hi! Got my crv vtis last Friday. Was disappointed to see that the headlights are made of plastic, looks flimsy. My 2013 civic is made of glass. Could you please confirm this please if this is the same with yours?
5 answers
Yep,
Their plastic.
Honda are skimping on quality
Thanks james! What badge did uou get! I thought that the delearship switched some parts. Plastic headlights not good. It flexes when I pit preasure ontp to ot.
Plastic is better and less chance to shatter easily in an event of a car crash so my advice is be happy the vehicle itself is safe and working properly - that's mainly what's important for you and your passengers

Does anyone know where the trunk release is in the CRV II 2015 VTiL ADAS model? Can't find the button anywhere or on the immobiliser. The boot is heavy to lift and apparently I have to put everything down to get into it!?
2 answers
One thing I didn't think to check when I was buying the car was the remote boot release. I was replacing a 10 year old Honda Accord Euro that had both a lever at the drivers seat and a button on the key. I figured that it would at least have a lever and/or a button, as I too got the 2015 Series II VTI-L ADAS with ALL of the available options. The ad for the CRV showed not just remote powered tailgate, but touch free powered tailgate. On my first service, I took it back to Larke Hoskins (where I purchased it) and they informed me that powered tailgate feature was despec'd for the AU market and the ad I saw was the CRV released for the US market.
Honda Australia get your shizz together. Demand better spec models for the AU market, then you might catch up to Mazda with sales.
What on earth were they thinking?!? How ridiculous!!

Hi! I'm just wondering about the space on the rear seats. Could you fit two child seats and adult? Is it wide enough? Thanks!
3 answers
Yes the back seats space can fit 2 child seats also one more person in the middle but only if the person is under certain size. Like medium female size person.
I was able to fit 3 6 foot men in the back seat and they all said that it was roomy enough without being too squishy. Also there is the specific car seat slots on both the left and right back seats.
Thank you for your replies! I got my 4wd vtis already. It'll be delivered on Friday!:-)

My Honda CRV 2015 model has very weak aircon. It just doesn't cool.Taken to 2 dealers who are giving me standard reply that they can't find any fault (I think they are bluffing) when you can barely sit in the car even with the aircon on. Does anyone have a similar issue? Whom should I approach? It's still under warranty.
3 answers
try your local mechanic for help....he will recommend someone
if he cant fix it himself.....forget the dealers on this point
My car has the same problem. Waiting for answer.
I have the 4WD 2.4L and I find the opposite. The aircon takes no time at all to cool. Its very powerful. Noisy, but powerful. Suggest its maybe a 2.0L option.
