When I add a page to my homescreen, it puts a little icon in the right bottom corner of the big icon, showing the chrome logo, or where ever I'm adding it from, if that makes sense. How do I remove that small icon? It's annoying and ruins the "look" of my screen. Thanks in advance.

I had a similar problem with my phone. In the end I gave up. The phone is a piece of junk. I have given it away and replaced it with a refurbished Samsung S7. No more problems
Don't blame ya! I had a Samsung s5 before this, that met an unfortunate end, and it was the best phone I've ever had. Would of bought another if I could of found one. This phone has/does so many stupid unnecessary issues.

Huawei Y5 mobile charging time ...four hours ...so Charing time less than Any ideas...please?

Pls reply me
Your rechage cable is either faulty or worn out.
Try another USB mini power cable from another mobile, I think they are all universal and swappable.
This phone I noticed slows down BIG TIME with only a few apps upoaded, memory HD too small, slowish for a supposed 2 GB RAM ?
Use a Samsung mini USB cable they are more sturdy.
Dave, I actually contacted Huawei about this today, as I was recently sent a brand new Y5 2017 to replace a previous faulty model, and it took 4 hours to charge a couple of days ago, while it was turned off. I rang Huawei today about it, and was told the charge time is around 4-4.5 hours. The previous phone also took around 4 hours to charge as well, which I find ridiculous.

My new Huawei y5 won't seem to charge. The battery is at 10% after an hour on charge. Is that normal?
1 answer
No, that is not normal and doesn't happen with mine. It charges up in a reasonably short time to full charge. I try to not run it down too far.

How can I simplfy the Y5 for an elderly person?
4 answers
If you're using the 2015 model. Go to settings anf scroll down to home screen style. Choose simple and tap apply at the bottom of the screen.
Now you may tap the + in any tile and a bubble will appear. Choose apps and you will be given a choice of what you wish to add to your tiled screen. This helped me immensely as my bad eyes got terribly confused searching through dozens of icons. This is a start. I also googled many questions about my phone and learned so much from the internet.
I hope this helps.
From my perspective, simplify the home screen (what is always seen when you wake the phone up)
Make the icons across the bottom the ones for calling, messaging and contacts. I think if you de-clutter the home screen and menu along the bottom, it should work out.
Hope this helps
Thank you. I have chosen the simple home screen style and amended what I can.

We just bought 4 months ago the 3G n it can't receive texts because no memory. We only want to make calls n text n it can't even do that. How can we receive text without spending another $130 on a phone?

9 out of 10 times it's your Videos followed by photos stored in the phones memory using up the space. Transfer them onto an SD Card or download them onto your home computer then delete them off your phone.
You have 2 options.
Delete any unused apps, videos and photos. This will free up memory for cslks and texts or if you need to keep photos, videos, apps you currently have on your phone you can buy an SD memory card for a small fee.
Hope this helps!
Thanks all good now

How long should the battery stay charged? I do not use it a lot & find i generally have to charge ir every 24 hours
3 answers
It pays to charge it every night. The battery usually lasts 2 days if you hardly use it, but like most batteries they will hold less of a charge over the months. I find the battery lasts all day, even using Google Maps and phone calls.. but it pays to have a car charger if you travel a lot like myself.
Hi, even if you don't use it, the battery will still run down unless turned off.
It should not hold less charge over time though!
I still let my phone run right out and then fully recharge once a week to keep it in good condition, although they say it's not necessary now.
You may need to look at what apps you have running in the background. Bluetooth, Wifi and GPS turned on all the time will contribute to battery consumption. I am still getting 2 days before my battery is completely drained but yes it is also a good idea to carry a charger or portable battery bank just in case it is the wrong time for it to discharge completely on you.

I have been given a brand new huawei y5 in box I have opened and been waiting for it to charge it is not responding is this normal or is my battery faulty wat do I do its locked to trlstra
2 answers
Hi Reevie, If the phone is an incentive from Tristar or any other provider it may have been damaged in transit, contact, the Giver and explain what has happend as this is not normal for a Huawei
Check you are using the original charger.
Other phones one may not work.
A brand new one should never do this.

is there an instruction book for this y 5 mobile phone?
2 answers
No Rob not that I know of, which is just terrible. But we have persevered and have taken the phone into Telstra many times, staff have been helpful. good luck
Hi, you can Google it and download the instructions.
Or contact Huawei, but Telsltra would be better as they speak English.

How can i tell if my Y5 u23, is 4g compatible?
2 answers
Hi Mark,
The Y5 is compatible with the networks that use 4G. I use Virgin Mobile and don't have any problems with the 4G connectivity. The other networks such as Telstra, Vodaphone should work fine as well. The problems I have had with this model haven't been with connectivity but have been with what I believe to be hardware faults. If you need any more info please let me know and I will try to help you.
Regards
Steve
Unfortunately the Y5 U23 model is 3g. I bought this dual sim model from dick smith, unlocked, ran on Vodaphone but then got text message from Vodaphone telling me it was a 3g device and they were migrating 850 MHz 3g to 4g.
Having said that it still works (as far as I know) I ended up getting the Y5 L02 model which is single sim but 4g.
Hope that helps.

What is the difference between the Telstra 4GX Buzz and Huawei Y5 other than the latter being double the price?
Thanks in advance!
1 answer
Hi,
I have never heard of anyone using a Telstra 4GX Buzz but I should imagine they are fairly similar to the Huawei Y560 in functionality. As I said in my review please be very careful of dealing with Huawei, their customer service department treats customers like idiots and will give you the runaround until you give up. I can send you all the email correspondence between me and them to prove it if you need it. I used to think that Huawei products were great. This Y560 is nothing but rubbish. I have one as well as my wife and we have had nothing but problems with them from day one.
Regards
Steve
