VERY PLEASED WITH OUR WARM & COMFORTABLE COSY SHERPA ELECTRIC BLANKET

published

Having pensioned off our old wool electric blanket - checked the reviews and decided upon the Jason Cosy Sherpa Electric Blanket even though there had been some adverse reviews. We are very happy with this blanket - it is really comfortable and warm throughout the night.

The settings on each side are H, L, 1 2 3 4 5. We set it on 1 about one to two hours prior to retiring then move it to Low for the rest of the night and we find we have a most comfortable night. The important feature, in our opinion, is that it automatically cuts off after 10 hours, thus not having to remember to turn it off. We managed to buy it on sale at Spotlight for $108 - so much cheaper than other "fleece" type brands which are over $200.

Reliable, but slow to heat up

published

I purchased this Jason fitted Queen size electric blanket at Big W.

It has proven reliable but is quite slow to heat (although not having used electric blankets when I was younger, this may be normal.)

The controls only have the red lamp to indicate 'on' on one side which to my mind is a deficiency.

The blanket fits snugly and there are not too many discernible undulations to annoy one when sleeping or trying to get to sleep.

Shocking blanket!

published

The queen-sized Jason electric blanket (TWK-1/T4E written on the controller) is perfect for couples sharing the same bed but trying to practise abstinence. If one person touches the other, they receive a mild electric shock. Guaranteed to keep couples on their designated side of the bed, or perhaps it might bring the 'spark' back into a relationship!
I'd recommend spending a bit more on a blanket that doesn't threaten your life every night.
Lesson learnt - ours is in the bin.

Dangerous electric currents

published

Be careful with this product. On first use I heated it on my side only. My partner touched me and we were zapped. You can feel the electric currents when the elements are heating and after I turned it off my body was buzzing for several hours. Returned to store. Deemed unsafe.

Great product

published

This electric blanket is a perfect fit for our king size Koala mattress, doesn't slip and heats quickly all the way to the bottom. Washable too which is a bonus.

Unimpressed

published

Very disappointed with my Jason "Cosy Sherpa" electric blanket. It does not heat the last 30cm of the bed, leaving my shins, ankles, and more importantly, my feet, very cold. Am forced to tuck my legs up to warm my feet. My last electric blanket was heated to the end of the bed! A pity this is not marked on the packaging. I will be purchasing a new one now, and not a Jason one if they're all designed that way. Not happy.

Nice and warm.

published

I shopped around both online and instore before purchasing the jason electric blanket. The lambswool makes it warmand cosy. The controls are removable and you can wash the blanket. It is also fitted so no ties to try and get under the matress. I am very happy with the jason electric blanket.

Not up to standard

published

Purchased a Jason Ultimatt fitted queen electric blanket on 23/5/2012.
Chucking it out today (Nov 2016) because all the wires have become exposed just under the controller.
The bed is high off the ground, so it's not like the controller is pushed against the floor.
Also it takes ages to heat up on either side.
Won't buy this brand again!

Control stopped working within 2 months

I purchased a Jason fitted electric blanket with a 2 year warranty, but one of the controls stopped working within 2 months of purchase. I would not recommend this blanket.

Electric shocks tripped safety switch something not right with this

published

Came here looking for info. Doesn't seem normal. Touch my partner and get electric vibrations. Touched each other and tripped the safety switch in the house. Something wrong with this product will be returning.

Experienced vibrating when touching someone not on blanket

published

I also experienced the vibrations, which I only noticed when touching someone who was not on the blanket whilst I was. I will be returning it as it doesn't seem safe to use.

Made my skin vibrate and made me give shocks to my boyfriend

published

The temperature was perfect and it didn't take long to warm up especially if you were already in it. BUT it made my skin vibrate and made me give the worse shocks to my boyfriend so I returned it because it couldn't have been safe. Could find no faults at all in the chords

Comfy & effective

published

We bought a queen blanket & a single after moving into a very cold house in the Adelaide Hills in the middle of winter. I was very glad someone had mentioned that the first use takes a while to warm as the mattress may be cold or damp, as it did take a few hours the first time.
It still takes a while to warm up, on the highest setting, but once in a routine with timings this hasn't bothered us at all.
We never leave them on while in bed, as feel safer with them off, but also we just get too hot.
Absolutely worth the money though - & I'm very glad they are washable as we've had a few illnesses & it's nice to wash & air them out after!
Wash ability
Takes a while to warm up (but we do have cold damp house)
