Just want to know if anyone has had trouble with the generator starting and running for 2 seconds and then stopping ?

No, I have not had that problem in the seven years I have owned mine. Sounds like it is running out of fuel. Perhaps try running it with the fuel cap off to make sure the vent in the fuel cap is working.

Has anyone had problems with it starting them flooding and pushing heaps of fuel out into the air filter have a brand new carby just fitted and still doing it ?

Sorry Ashley S, I can't help. Mine has always started and run fine. Certainly sounds like a carburettor issue but if you have fitted a new one, I don't know what else could be causing it.

The overload light comes on straight away before even plugged into any thing, it’s had about 1 hours use in ts life

Hi Debra mine was a little different the overload light came on when plugged in. It would happen straight away. I was told inverter. If not used very often the inverter would fail. The price I was told to replace the inventor outweigh the generator. So disappointed as it was like new. Ended up buying a Honda 2. Good luck

Where is the reset button on generator?

There isn't one.... Shut it down and restart it - viola, reset.
Have done that but overload light is staying on and is not generating any power. What could be the cause of this
There could be a dozen reasons why....Your only option may be to take a it to an electrician, You say its running so mechanically its fine, but the overload light stays on so i'd say either the internal board is dead or the generator itself (the stator) is buggered.

I haven't had a problem, fingers crossed.
I'm not sure about Cairns but here in Brisbane it is Peal Industries in Moss St Slacks Creek.
I haven't heard of much going wrong with them if treated correctly.
One thing i always do with small 4 stroke engines is after shutting it down for a long period i drain the fuel and run the carby dry.
One more important thing is ALWAYS store it on the compression stroke.
Pull the starter rope slowly til it gets hard and leave it there.
This ensues the valves can't get stuck open.

Very acceptable unit for the price. I wouldn't suggest they are the equal to a Honda, but for the price (about half) they are way better than half as good. I have both a GS2600 and GS2000. The GS2600 is on the farm, used regularly for long periods, treated with absolute contempt and just keeps going. Couldn't be more happy with it
I agree with Crusty.
Don't overload it electrically and service it as per the recommendations and it should do you well.
If you are going to use the kipor in a caravan with air con then buy the 2600 or you will have trouble running the air especially on hot days.
