Robynaasked
I used my Thermoblend for the first time to crush spices for a curry but it took forever and I didn't get as find a grind as I do with my little electric coffee/spice grinder. Also it took at least 10 attempts to get the power to work on any setting other than pulse. I set the speed and time and pressed on/off and it would only grind for 2 -3 seconds before stopping.
Any tips on these 2 issues?

I am having trouble changing blades. They won't lock in and I have spent hours trying. Does the blade base come apart to allow connection of butterfly component?
1 answer
Turn thermo upside down and flick the lock. Maybe just sit a tea towel underneath it to get out and to lock in just turn blade around until it clicks in then lock from underneath. My butterfky just sits ontop of my blade.
Maccaasked
Is it ok to get the underneath of the main bowl wet when cleaning it (like submerge it into the sink)? I can't see that the base (with the prongs) comes apart from the bowl. Thanks in advance
2 answers
I have never done it but have seen it done with a Thermomix and put thru the dishwasher. I wouldn't do it as I break everything I touch.
Ross x.Kogan
Hi Macca,
We do not recommend submerging the main bowl as the contact points at the bottom should remain dry. However the blades can be removed easily for cleaning.
You can read the cleaning and maintenance tips in the manual here: https://assets.kogan.com/files/usermanuals/KATHMXBENXA-A.pdf

How do I select the dough setting on the KATHMXBENXA model of the thermoblend 2?
3 answers
I haven't used it. The instructions were downloadable on the page where I bought it. Maybe contact kogan?
Ross x.Kogan
Hi Karen,
Please see the below steps to use the dough setting on the ThermoBlend:
1. Set the Speed to 7, Temperature to 0 and blend for 30 seconds.
2. Change the Speed to 3, leave Temperature at 0 and blend for 2 minutes.
We recommend not to use the mixing tool when kneading dough as this may cause the blades to become jammed.
If you need any further assistance please don't hesitate to get in touch with us here:
So, if Im not using the mixing blade, which blade do I use?

Hi, I am trying to steam vegetables using the accessory on top and I have been unsuccessful. I have put 500ml of water in the jug, the temp to ST, turned it on, the light turns red then after a few minutes it turns off. Is there a step I am missing or is there something wrong with the unit? (the speed does work so the blades agitate. The bowl is on correctly even though it takes muscles to put the lid on!!) Disappointing so far!! Can anyone help, please?

When I try to put the lid on my thermoblend to mix it won't slide in easily to the gap on the handle. I need my husband to turn it with his his muscles

I have the same problem and even sent it back. Apparently there is nothing wrong with it and they returned it to me. When I do get mine on, there is a gap under one side but not the other but the company said this was not an issue.
They said it gets easier over time and some say to smear oil around the seal but you shouldn't have to in the first place. I think they are trying to get out of admitting there is a fault.
oh great, thanks for your comment. At least I know its a fault and not just me. We put oil on the seal as well but if fear of breaking the clip when you try and force it, I guess I won't use it as much as I thought I could.
Mine too is the same. It's not you at all.

Hi,
I have purchase the machine and when it plugs in the screen turns on but the on/off button isnt regestering, also the dials are not registering.
Can you please tell me what is wrong with it as there is nothing in the trouble shooting guide that says what to do? Can someone please email me [email removed]

Have you got the jug in place and pushed down? Once the ingredients are in and the lid is on it should work.
Henricaasked
How do I use 'reverse' speed on my thermoblend as a lot of recipes require it and i don't have reverse speed on my machine?
3 answers
Ross x.Kogan
Hi Henrica,
Thank you for your question.
Unfortunately the ThermoBlend does not have the function to engage the blades in reverse.
You can manually swap the blades' alignment and this will fulfil the purpose the "reverse" function is designed to.
The Thermomix recipes using "Reverse" are to use the blunt part of the thermomix blades. You can achieve the same effect with the Kogan thermoblend by taking out the sharp blades and putting in the blunt stirring device. The actual direction you stir your cooking doesn't generally matter.
Thank you

What setting will I choose to grate cheese or chop it?
1 answer
Ross x.Kogan
Hi Jennifer,
Thank you for your question.
Speed 3-4 should do, but try it out and see what works best with the type of cheese you're using.
Happy cooking!
