The cord for my Lumina vacuum is stuck and won't budge. I have tried to open up the section that contains the cord retractor, and I have removed both screws, but it is still stuck and I am unable to access it. How can I fix this? Thanks
1 answer
Same thing happened to mine.
There are 7 screws which need to be undone.
6 screws on top of the unit. 2 at the back and 4 can be seen when the lid over the bag is lifted. The 2 at the front are easy, but the two in the middle are blocked by the hinge and although visible, I found it impossible to get a screw driver down the access hole.
I suggest a Philips head driver with the handle cut off will reach the screws. Then turn the screw driver with pliers.
The last screw is at the front underneath.
When all the screws are out, the top separates from the bottom.
Care needs to be taken to pull out 2 wires attached to a sensor by a plug that can only go back the correct way before separating the two halves.
The power cord was on the retract reel, but the last turn had jumped off the reel and fouled the reel axel.
It was a bit awkward to get it back - just needed patience.
When done, connect the wires back using the plug and do up the 7 screws. They are all the same size.
I think this problem was caused by rewinding the power cord too quickly.

My lumina signature upright multi cyclonic vacuum has lost suction. What can l do?
2 answers
Check the pre-filter and wash it if nessesary. Then find the HEPA filter (the fine filter) and see if it needs washing too. Let it dry completely if you wash it. Take the hose off and shine a torch down it. Can you see anything? Poke a broomstick down it and see if anything comes out.
Loss of suction is usually down to clogged filters.Easy to remove and clean. Had one of the Aldi cyclonic vacuums for7 years now and it can still lift a rug off the floor. Regular maintenance is the key.

How do I open the barrel to empty it?
1 answer
Can't clearly remember as I returned (that average at best) vacuum about 2-3 weeks after owning.
From memory there is a sort of 'rounded' button that releases a catch...?

Where can I get diagram of where the filters are as the suction has almost gone? - Bev of Melb.

Sorry, have no idea as I got rid of that awful vacuum about a year ago.
Apart from the main cyclonic dirt container there is:
1. a pre-motor filter located behind the removable dirt container assembly - remove dirt container assembly then lower tab at top and pull out cover plate located on unity main body behind the main dirt container assembly and you'll find a sponge filter with a secondary microcloth filter under that. Both are housed in an easily removable plastic cassette. Have a bag ready to empty the dust into and beware that this is some of the finest stuff I have ever come across: sneeze and you'll regret it! Rinse in warm water (Max 40 Deg C) if necessary.
2. a post motor HEPA filter is located on the rear wheel of the cleaner below the On/Off switch. Release the cover as indicated and remove it then release filter by pulling the tab towards you. Tap gently on something hard outside like a garbage bin. If really bad rinse as above. ENSURE ALL PARTS ARE ABSOLUTELY DRY BEFORE REASSEMBLING (dry for 24 hours or more if necessary).

Hi Ruth, truth is we took that awful thing back to Aldi where we got it.
From memory though, it sort of unclips around the barrel/container.
Best of luck, but to be honest - consider taking back that POS ASAP.
Regards.
You can't we tried to and it just made it worse. Karen

How long the warranty?
after the warranty how to serve it if need to serve ?
Do you have replacement accessories i. for how long?
2 answers
Warranty: 1 year.
Servicing... wouldn't be worth the money as this is a cheap/$$$ unit.
Replacement accessories... I wouldn't bother (see above).
Do I have replacement accessories/for how long? ... huh?
I have used my cleaner each week for 18 months and have not had a problem. I have a 3 year warranty on my machine. When it fails then I will replace it if possible with the same. Parts are easy to replace, I have replaced a couple of the portable tools without any problem and at no cost.
