Excellent product
I have been using this for few months and absolutely loving it. I used to have stuffy nose while sleeping but this medescan rainbow mist humidifier has helped me with my breathing. I now have wonderful sleep at night. Fantastic product, i will highly recommend this to everyone. Great value for money.

I love this!!
I initially bought this for my daughter when she had a bad flu earlier in the year. Now I sleep with it beside my bed every night because I absolutely love the cool vapour. It helps prevent my skin, throat and sinuses from drying out through this awful, dry winter.

I think I got a dodge
Was so excited to use my new defused until after 3 uses it decided to leak and I couldn’t figure out what was going on ! ! ! So annoying for myself as I was setting it up for my partner as he was sick and also has bad asthma.

Perfect gift
I gift the humidifier to two of my friends, one who has asthma and one who just had a baby. Both of them completely loved it and expressed appreciation as it was the best thing for the health of the baby and the asthma. Outstanding product!
I love this product! not only did the extra humididty in the air help with my cough but it was also safe. I'm the biggest clutz around and i used to walk through the steam of the old hot steamed vaporizers and burn myself ! the cool air is safe to touch and i can add my fav lavender oil in the oil tray to help me sleep at night. Totally recommend !

Becoming pain to maintain it
I bought it with a lot of hope, but turned out to be a dud. After a week of use, it has started emitting a bad odour. The odour is like a damp cloth smell. I googled around and someone had mentioned to clean it in vinegar. After cleaning with vinegar it goes away for a day.. and returns the second day. I am fed up cleaning with vinegar everyday.

Unfortunately our product as with all humidifiers does require regular cleaning especially as it does have the still water component. Please keep in mind that whatever the quality of the water in the humidifier will be vaporised into the air. As such, we recommend daily change of water and a basic clean. Fantastic Product
This product is outstanding! As I am an asthmatic, I found this product to be great in terms of purifying the air and the umidifier functionality. Love this product!
I recently bought the Medescan Rainbow Mist humidifier as my 4 year old son gets a little congested in the evenings. The aroma oils are working a treat & my son absolutely loves the colourful lights function. Humidifier & night light in one - love it! Def recommend this product for other families with little kids.

Amazing product! So eay to use and worked so well for my little ones.
Highly recommend this rainbow mist humidifier! It was so easy to use. I noticed it had a huge impact in helping my little 4 month old with her bronchitis. Loved that I could control the strength of the mist release. Also, we have a wood fire heater inside our home and I started to notice my skin was becoming quite dry. The humidifier absolutely made a difference in helping adding moisture back into the air and helping to reduce the dry skin issue. AAA+ product. Great value for money.

Terrible product, good customer service
We've had three of these and each time had to return. Twice the thing just stopped working and once (like a review a few below) the thing sounded like an electric lawn mower after a few months. The latest has been a replacement sent to us from head office which didn't work out of the box!
Returned this to Amcal who told me they have lots of returns of this unit and replaced it with a Vicks one with 5 years warranty.

hought I might add to my review. The unit is attractive and has some great features its competitors don't have. The night light is great, multiple varying colours are great for a kids room. The oil defuser is super convenient and used a fraction of the oil others need to provide a full night of scented vapour. You can also easily set the vapour amount with a simple dial, plus it's super quiet which is a bonus. If only the motor was better quality it would be by far the best on the market. Cheap & Nasty
Bought a humidifier in May used for 2 months where your the water in cracked and fell apart, i had a puddle of water right near the power cord.
Same thing has just happened to my mums and have had to throw both out. Couldnt find receipts. Good while it lasted.

Was working a treat and now sounds like a small lawnmower running in the bedroom!
Bought our Medescan Rainbow Mist about a year and a half ago. Used initially for our first baby when she got her first real cold, worked well. Got it back out a week ago for our new baby. Have been running it every night for a week and now it’s humming like a small lawnmower every time we turn it on. Still making mist and lights. Just certainly not whisper quiet anymore! Could pass as my babies white noise machine now. Disappointed as we were about to buy another for our room, until this happened. Not the cheapest humidifier on the market, would expect it to last longer then 1.5 years and especiallly as it has probably run for a total of 14 days at the most.

Definite Value
I purchased just over a week ago as family members have had flu & have found it makes a huge difference in comfort levels. Instead of waking with aching throat & lungs from mucus, the mucus is now soft & easy to expel because of added moisture from humidifier.
I wish I had made the decision to buy this product years earlier.

Worked great then all of a sudden the mist stopped coming out and now nothing is working but the light. It’s quite disappointing as it is great for the kids rooms and helps them when they need a bit of help with congestion. Would like to know why there is no mist

Good, but isn't working very well
I got my humidifier not long ago and it was working great, worked well with the oils and it really helped my son with his viral infection. But recently its started making a loud noise from the base when on which isnt good. Definitely hoping it isn't about to break because its not old... if it breaks this soon i definitely wont be happy. So other then the loud noise its making its great.

Good general humidifier, not great for cold/flu relief
I bought this to replace my Vicks Vaporiser (hot steam) specifically to provide relief for my infant with a cold and prolonged congestion.
In theory the humidity is what should provide relief, irrespective of whether it's hot or cold. In practice however the results are markedly different and I find this not to be the case.
The cool air appealed to me from a safety perspective, as did the speed in operation, the vapour is instantaneous, which is awesome!

U would like to take this opportunity to list our suggested cleaning routine. We highly recommend daily cleaning of the water tank and the base unit. To clean the water tank, simply add a teaspoonful of white vinegar to the water tank, add some water and then swirl. Thoroughly rinse the water tank to remove the vinegar essence. To clean the base, tip out excess water away from the air vent. Wipe the base with water and white vinegar and then wipe with fresh water only. I would like to point out to many studies from prominent institutions that highlight the benefit of ultrasonic mist. This mist is finer than the older style hot steam and so penetrates deeper into the lungs and as such has a better effect. Some of the other benefits include: 1. Cool ultrasonic mist is safer and eliminates the risk of scalds and burns associated with the older style hot steam vaporisers. 2. Ultrasonic mist is controlled flow and generally can be reduced or increased based on room size. This reduces the likelihood of mould build up 3. Smaller water particles produced by ultrasonic mist also do not tend to stick to walls and furniture again reducing the possibility of mould and mildew build up. 4. Ultrasonically produced mist is ionized and as such reduces the presence of dust and other allergens from the atmosphere. Exceptional customer service
I absolutely love my rainbow mist humidifier. We have had no issies and have had our for almost a year and a half.
When I needed a replacement part and a filter I contacted the team and was expecting to have difficulty in getting what I wanted and at a good price.
I was pleasantly surprised when not only was my purchase done and completed within minutes but I also received my order the next day.

I have used this daily during winter for my children
I have never had any trouble with this. I had a humidifier that used steam, I ended up with mould on the windows. This doesn't do this, it blows lovely cool steam. I've used it for my son who had croup and when he has had coughs/ colds. I give them as baby shower presents. I have purchased 4 so far. They are excellent for sick kids. I use plain steam, I don't bother with smelly oils etc.

How do you clean inside the plastic water dome if there is mould in it? I’m not sure if it is the problem but it is giving off a funny smell when I use it. I have wiped out the white base. I am worried to use if I cannot clean it properly as it is in my baby’s room.

The unit develops mould if any water is left in the water tanks.
Please note, the whole unit needs to be completely dry prior to storage.
In order to clean the water tank, we suggest you add some water into the water tank, add a teaspoon of white vinegar and swirl it. Please let it soak on mould areas for about 30 minutes. Rinse the water tank thoroughly with fresh water.
