I ordered a ring and purchased it 21st February 2020,
I tried it on today after boxing up for moving house and have realised it’s not the one for me anymore!
Can I trade/exchange for another ring in store??
I’m devastated, as soon as I bought it home I hid it away and now 2 months later I feel differently about it.

I think I got indirectly scammed by Michael hill. I bought a stud earring, it got sent but I wasn’t home at the time. I went to the post office and they couldn’t find the number but told me to come back a few days later. I got sidetracked so it had been over 10 days which meant it got sent back to them. I contacted Michael hill and they said they are looking into it and will send it again. It’s been ages now like a month. I’m done playing games how do I get a refund?

Are you positive spamming your ratings? Remarkable that you get a huge bunch of really positive ratings all in the same 2 week period. And they even read like the same person wrote them, with the odd deliberate spelling mistake thrown in to disguise. And your overall stats don't look typical of a good company's, they are clearly distorted. People seem to mostly dislike you or think you're brilliant. Nothing much in between.

A stone has fallen out of my engagement ring for the second time in the first six months of having it. Is this normal? Both times it has happened has been when I was doing very normal, everyday things (getting out of the car and grabbing some shopping out of a basket at a woolies checkout). I didn’t bump it hard either time! Now it seems that I cannot get it fixed through the Lifetime Care plan but I will void the warranty if I get it fixed elsewhere, so what are my options? Michael Hill is obviously open as they are still selling stuff online, but have ceased meeting their obligations under the Lifetime Care plan which is protected under consumer law? Any info you could provide would be greatly appreciated! I understand we are living in crazy times.

Hi Sarah, I am sorry to hear you are experiencing issues with your beautiful ring. We can absolutely assist with repairs but we are not able to do so until our stores and jewellers open. Unfortunately, as jewellery is a non-essential business, we will have no staff working at our retail locations or jewellery repair houses until it is safe to do so. This means we will have to wait until such time to access any jewellery repairs.

Thanks for the reply. As this is the second time this has happened in six months (which I have been informed by Michael Hill is very rare) it could be safely assumed that the ring setting is faulty, which is what I was told by the Michael Hill sales associate the first time it went in to be fixed. She said that they would tighten it up but if it happened again it would need to be replaced. It appears that your online store is open for sales and returns, so wouldn't it be possible to mail it in for a replacement? I understand that these are difficult times but I do believe that the conditions of the Professional Care Plan are still protected under Australian consumer law. I have been informed by someone over the phone at Michael Hill that if I take it elsewhere to be fixed I would void my side of the PCP (which is why I am wanting to get it fixed by you), so how can Michael Hill hold me to the conditions of the agreement when they are failing to meet their side of of the terms?

I have had a Michael Hill watch in for repairs at Elizabeth shopping centre Elizabeth Sth Aust.Was put in on 28/2/2020 and due back 13/3/2020. Repair docket no RAM00645579.
As i had not been contacted i went to the shopping centre and because of covid19 disease there is a message on the doors shop is shut indefinetly.
Can you please reply asap and let me know what is happening and when i may expect to have it returned to me

I recently brought a rose gold bracelet and chain on boxing day, I felt the lady was quite pushy with me buying the 2 items and I wasn't feeling 100% on buying these items, she reassured me that I have 30 days to think about it after I purchased the items, so I took them home and felt bad about buying them so I rung her the next day to make sure it was ok to return the items she stated that "Keep the jewelry and see how you feel you have up to 30 days" so a week goes by and I drop the bracelets off to the store to get my refund. I get a call the other day saying that they are unable to give me a refund because the jewelry has been worn and they won't refund me because there is scratches :( I feel robbed!! I talked to the branch manager and she has informed me that they have sent it away again for anylise..... why send it off again if they are going to say the same thing!? What can I do if I don't get my refund? Can they repair the scratches if there are any? Please any help would be much appreciated!

Most pendants are sold with a display chain and not a proper chain. These display chains are normally quite fine.
This is normal sales practice in all jewellery shops.
Its never happened to me but you can go back to the shop with your receipt and see if you could get a replacement.
They normally will give you a replacement if it's broken through normal use or handling.

The Display chains aren't recommended for normal wear as they cannot handle it like normal chains. I would recommend purchasing a secure chain for your gorgeous pendent. Regards, Shaely

Hi, I purchased a mens 55cm 10K gold diamond cut curb chain about 2 years ago from Michael Hill. The chain came with a certificate of authenticity stating it is 10K. I recently had it valued and was told it is actually 9.5K gold. Am i entitled to a refund?
