Carol - sorry to hear you had trouble getting on to our site. Did you manage to get on in the end? Let me know if you are still having trouble. Best, Greg (MD)

Hi

I have just read that Naked Wines charge 40 a month,

I have bought a case, and definitely DO NOT WANT naked wines to start charging a monthly fee, charge or whatever you would call it.

There is nothing to say this will happen, so I would like to confirm it will not. I don't want to sign up for anything, also why does it say I am 3753 in a waiting list?

Can you pleas assure me that this is not the case and it will not happen.

Kind regards

Nicky Paige

You need to let them know you are not interested in the waiting list to be an angel. The waiting list is for them to deduct money.

Good luck getting your name off the list. I requested to be taken off the list every time they sent me on of their emails about how the queue I was in was getting shorter and shorter. The request never went through and then they took $40 out of my account. I cant get that deduction cancelled either. It is totally a scam. People who report being happy with them should try cancelling their account and see how happy they are then!

Hi Kiwi3, sounds like you took up the offer on our homepage which will add your name to the Angel waiting list. There are other cases available on the site that won't sign you up. The $40 a month you mention is not a subscription fee - it simply sits on your account as a credit until you wish to buy more wine. And it gives us the confidence to invest and fund talented independent winemakers upfront - so they can make you delicious wines at affordable prices and get a fair go compared to dealing with the supermarkets. Having said that, Angels are never tied in - you can cancel your membership online or by contacting our Customer Happiness Team any time.

Right now we are focussing on supporting as many independent Aussie winemakers as possible - and with over 80,000 happy Angels supporting over 45 winemakers we've made a decent start, but have a way to go! Best, Greg Banbury (MD)

Why is everyone complaining about money being taking from their accounts when on the front page it says it takes $40 a month?

Because they do not make adequately clear the fact that when they take your credit card details that it is set up as a continuing debit. People buy into the concept without noticing the fine print. Buyer beware you might say, but they are saying deceptive practices.

I agree. I haven't brought from them as yet, but it is very clear on the landing page when I visit that there is a $40 a month charge, that I can spend it on wine purchases or get a refund.

It is hardly fine print, it is not Naked Wines fault if one does not read what is right in front you.

I agree. My own personal experience with Naked Wines was a very pleasant one. It clearly states that it's $40 a month. If you can't or didn't read that bit, your fault!
