This is my preferred brand of all the sensitive products

published

I’ve been using this for several years now and it is by far the least irritating for my skin. Recently they added a fragrance which I’d prefer not to have but I haven’t had a reaction to it. It’s a good price and works well, I always use half the recommended amount so it lasts twice as long although my clothes don’t get that dirty, with children you may need to use more.

Purchased in February 2021.

Worse liquid ever

published

I buy sensitive skin powders and liquids mainly due to the fact that they don't have the overpowering smell that I find many of the perfumed ones have. I have never actually had a skin reaction till I used this "sensitive" product. I have had itchiness mainly on my head and neck so decided to do a patch test on my wrist yesterday. Woke up with itchy hives this morning on the patch so there's no doubt it is from this product.

Severe case of hives from this horribly not so sensitive laundry liquid

published

I've been to the doctor with a severe case of hives after wearing underpants and jeans that I washed using this. I'm in so much discomfort. This product should be taken off the market. I've never had such a strong reaction to a product before and this is why I'm writing this. It's unbelievable.

Purchased in February 2021 at Woolworths Physical store for $5.00.

Gave me itchy eyes!

published

I used it some years ago for my baby, so decided (against the bad reviews) to get it since we just had another baby.

Big mistake! Triggered some reaction and i end up with hyper itchy eyes and couldnt stop tearing. Stopped using and symptoms went away.

The symptoms came back tonight and I realise its coz Im wearing a top that my husband had washed with the purity detergent! Cant stop tearing now in spite of antihistamines.

Stay away from this detergent!

Purchased in November 2021 at Woolworths for $3.00.

Amazing! So efficient and gentle to skin and nose!

published

I use this product for more than 5 years, it’s the only product I use for the entire family, it cleans perfectly and it feels that is made so cleverly with ingredients that makes so natural and powerful!
Thanks Purity! Love the softener too! Five stars easy!

Do not buy!!

published

After purchasing and washing my clothes I have all of sudden broken out in hives and my newborn has broken out in a rash. Was racking my brain as to why but it’s the only thing that has changed. Suppose to be hypoallergenic, hmmm.

One word: Hives.

published

I am horrified to think that this is being used for babies clothes! My partner (who doesn’t usually have sensitive skin) has broken out in severely red and itchy hives all over his body after I decided to try out this detergent because it was quite cheap yet claimed to be hypoallergenic and seemingly free of everything nasty. Worst decision!
Do yourself a favour and spend a bit more money on higher quality brands.
This product should be recalled.

Rash after changed formula

published

I have used this washing liquid for the past 3years and loved it on my baby clothes and never had an issue until the formula changed. My skin is so itchy ans covered in a rash over my lower back. My 5month old has also reacted. I am so dissapointed and will be looking for a new product. I loved how this cleaned our clotges and did a great job of removing mild stains

Best laundry liquid for sensitive skin

published

I have used purity laundry liquid for many years, I'm allergic to so many things and I don't react at all to this product, I'm the first to say it probably doesn't remove stains perfectly but the peace it gives my skin and mind is well worth it, it's so cheap and I just use a little pure soap and rub if I get a stain, couldn't recommend it more for sensitive skin!

I will continue to buy this laundry liquid

published

I bought this laundry liquid to try as my bub's skin is sensitive. After reading other people's review, I was a bit hesitant to buy but because I always like to try new things, I bought one bottle and tried on adult clothes only.
My husband, and myself did not react to this so I tried on my bub's clothes and nothing happened. I love the smell, not so strong and has light baby smell. I am very satisfied with purity and will buy a big bottle next time when I go grocery shopping.

Severe allergic reaction to this “hypoallergenic” formula

published

Hypoallergenic? Sensitive?? My whole body is covered in hives from this product! On antihistamines 4 times a day and a strong cortisone cream. This is NO GOOD for sensitive skin! AVOID!!!! Have loved Nature’s Organics regular laundry liquid for years and thought I would give this a go.. Big mistake! Two weeks of itchy red torture. I would not recommend this to anyone...

Useless

published

Bought this for washing baby's clothes. The whole wash still smells of baby poo once it's done. And it has optical brighteners so leaves a residue on the fabric. Not so good for sensitive skin.

Absolute Rubbish

Makes me itchy all over, Imagine what its doing to some poor babies. They should be sued for selling such a terrible product, where's the minus 50 stars button. Stick with OMO or some other more expensive better brand.

The New 'Improved' version is very disappointing

published

I have been using this product for many years and absolutely loved it, it was the only laundry liquid that didn't give me a rash, I tend to have very sensitive skin, but the 'New Improved' version makes me itchy all over and I'm so frustrated that they have changed the formula! why didn't they just leave it the way it was? it was perfect before they changed it! Now I have to search for another brand that is skin friendly :-(

Doesn't clean and gives bub a rash!

published

I've been using it for about 2 weeks now and my bub has suddenly become covered top to toe in a rash! Our clothes aren't clean and look dirty still. Will never buy again.

Love this product for my family's washing

published

I don't find the fragrance offensive and it doesn't irritate the skin of my baby either. I think it's a great product at a fantastic price point for the whole family.

Horrible laundry liquid...

Horrible Fragrance

published

I've used Purity for long time, specifically because it WAS sensitive. But since the change, the fragrance you now add. I cannot use. Please go back to old formula. The fragrance is no use & irritates skin.

Don't fix it if it ain't broke

published

Have been a great fan of the Purity range ever since I can remember despite cheaper products on the market. The new fragrance is offensive and irritating and lingers around all day on clothes. Who wants to smell of fabric softner? The older version barely had any fragrance other than a pleasant clean and fresh smell. After using up some older stack I had on hand I have changed to another brand.

So all of a sudden, my 5 month old is covered from head to toe in eczema (diagnosed by a gp) im trying to eliminate what may have caused this, i have always used purity laundry liquid, but decided to add some fabris softner to the wash! Obviously i re-washed everything in just the laundry liquid, then i just noticed the "new formula" at the top of thr laundry liquid. So my question is, when did the formula change, as now i am worried it could be due to the change! I should add, i have used this product for over 13 years, thanks

I don’t know when it changed but we only noticed the difference and the label on the last bottle we bought a few months ago. I am currently using Earth Choice laundry liquid and the rashes went away instantly

Can i wash my newborn's woollens - sweaters, blankets and all in Purity liquid detergent? Will they remain as soft as they are now?

I am really confused as I always wash my winter clothes in the detergent which is for woollens but could not find one for babies.

I used it for my baby's woollens and they remained soft.
You can now also get this washing liquid brand in fabric softener which might help as well.

Thanks Melissa, yes i tried washing 1 blanket today and it seems to be alright. I read on many sites that softener for babies are not good for their skin so I used only liquid detergent.
