Not what I expected
Not what I expected at all
Poor quality
Nissan used to be good but this quality has gone down
Dealership service terrible they don’t care that the ute is falling apart after 1 year
Waste of money avoid at all costs
Very disappointed
Even my mechanic was shocked how poorly built
They are not made to last anymore
Ended up selling it

Very happy, definitely innovation that excites!
Very happy with this truck. So comfortable and nice to drive. Its about time manufacturers step up and build a duel cab with coil rear end. All the car reviews say that the np300 doesn't carry weight well....but 85% of ppl buying duel cabs don't need or want to carry big loads...if they do throw in so heavy duty coils for $200....and you'll still have a better ride than a Ranger or Hilux....I know because I test drove them all and the np300 was a winner buy far. Thumbs up to Nissan for getting in 1st and redesigning the humble duel cab when no ...Read more
one else would...of course it would take a couple of goes to get it rite but it was well worth it! At the end of the day all new cars will have issues...but that's life...talk to your dealership kindly and respectfully and they will fix the problem....with a little patience. Love the np300. If your looking at buying a new duel cab give it a test drive...you might just be impressed...like I was.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

18000kms and mostly perfect
2017 series 2 White manual ST. I drove the Amarok and triton, and found this to be the better buy. I have had the car for just over 12 months, and the ute is basically perfect, including daily driving and a 4000 km trip. The only issue was an minor oil leak from the intercooler pipe from new, which was replaced and haven’t had any issues since.
The ute is very comfortable to drive, nice interior and fairly smooth on the road and corners well, given it’s a Ute. Engine has bucket loads of torque, you can almost just leave it in 6th most of t...Read more
he time and will just pull away when asked. fuel economy is amazing for this size 4x4 ute. Average is 7.8 l/100km city and freeway, I’ve had 5 on some 80km/h trips. Yes the official figures are rubbish, but I think people who complain on here forget they are not driving a Prius! our Pajero gets nowhere near this. Engine sounds like a diesel, but is quieter than our Pajero, especially when cruising on freeways, where the car is very quiet. 4x4 works as advertised, with good ratios in the manual for slowly driving in 1st if need be. Turning circle is crap, but seems the same as a Hilux and long wheelbase utes in general, it is a long vehicle, so if it didn’t have the reverse camera, I’d find it hard to park. Stereo and nav system works great, has Bluetooth, hands free voice activation and can use Siri on IPhones to send messages etc. A/C worked great over summer. The white paint is tough as you can expect. The only annoying things are lack of outside air temp indicator, and the fuel warning coming on with 160km of fuel left- first world problems Only needs service once a year, which is about $500.Similar opinion? Don't Be Fooled by the Marketing
The NISSAN ST-X NP300 (YS23DDTT) has been singularly the worst experience in a new motor vehicle I have ever had. Over the years I have been fortunate enough to have have had some 12 new vehicles ranging from Landcruiser's, Hilux's, Commodores and now my second Nissan.
All have been fit for purpose with the exception of the latest purchase of the NISSAN ST-X NP300.
The Good: I find it comfortable to drive and easy wash and clean.
The Bad: From new the vehicle exhibited a vibration through the steering wheel at 80-100klm. Returned to dealersh...Read more

Absolute crap and a death trap
On the 4th January I purchased a brand new vehicle from MacArthur Nissan. I was advised from the sales manager I could option up my vehicle as I was after a particular model (black edition) and they could do it better. The company sells 5 to 10 of these month as per conversation. From day one the car has had a vibration in the rear when travelling over 100km. From 4th January to today I have only had the vehicle for 2 weeks in my possession and paying full finance. They have put several different tires, wheels and tried to repair it but it stil...Read more
l has a vibration. I have had the sales manager & also master technician out with me in the care and they both confirmed the vibration. With the the last test drive the master technician also confirmed that is a fault in that particular model across the board. It can be quiet dangerous as the back tray vibrates continuously. Spoke with [name removed] at Nissan Australia and pretty much told bad luck - it’s standardSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Never buy another Nissan period. Oil leak after 1000 km service ...Ticking sound when accelerating
Owe Nissan D40 before beautiful car doing 230000 km not a lot of problems.
Decide to upgrade to Np 300, beautiful interior but the drive is terrible.. Ticking sound when accelerating in gear 1 and 2 with loss of power. Oil started leaking after 1000km services. Took it back but oil leak again after 2 days then they change a holes and that fix the problems. Mention to them about the Ticking sound and a drumming noise from the back, was told no fault and normal Diesel engine sound. Very disappointed with Nissan.
Will never buy another Nissan period.

I’d rather ride my push bike for reliability.
Driving experience dramatically improved with an aftermarket suspension kit from TJM,
Reliability is an absolute joke, 55,000 on the clock and I’ve had 4 boost solenoids fail,
3 intercooler hoses leak oil and one of which blew off and couldn’t be reattached sending the car into limp mode.
4 CV boots come loose spraying grease everywhere, finally on the 4th go they replaced the whole CV shaft and haven’t had an issue with that part since,
2 rear main seals fail,
2 timing case seals fail,
Drivers seat foam fail,
Rust above the windscreen and behind the rear window seam from delivery.
Paint is thinner than toilet paper.
Output shaft seal fail,

4x2 DX Navara NP300 two thumbs up
Had a 4x2 since end of 2015, it's been a great run about with no problems at all, they sent a recall a little while ago, something to do with the computer not registering a fault with the o2 sensor. All fixed with a quick trip to the dealer,
Drives great, quiet inside the cabin considering it's a base model, also safety, Bluetooth, cruise control, reasonable fuel economy, it no race car but does the job admirably, gears were notchy a bit when new but have now settled in to the selector nicely, first gear could have been a bit taller but bigger wheels fix this a make it more on pace through the gears.

New Car Rust - Denial
This is what you get when you buy a new Nissan Navara RX (4x2) SC - Rust in an area where no one looks.
A week after I bought the Navara on 12/01/18 I saw some adverse reports on rust issues with Nissan and decided to take a closer look only to find rust inside both front wheel arches. I booked it in for a check at Aspley Nissan and was told that all new cars have rust. I immediately notified Nissan Gladstone where I bought it from and asked for a new vehicle without the rust or a refund. I then sent Nissan Aust. the photos and was asked if...Read more

Plenty of aftermarket Parts
So many aftermarket parts for np300 to choose from... pity the steering on the car and shortness of 1st gear (manual) in the D23 let it down. Nice ride in suspension though. Bit basic inside compared with other utes in the market. Thats probably why their are so many aftermarket options ! Capable 4wd though

Right Hand Rear Axle seal leak
I have had my NP300 STX since December 2015. Great car but sagy rear end when towing my caravan.I fitted air bags which fixed this problem. In June 2017 the car went in to my Nissan dealer to get the RH rear axle seal fixed & the brakes replaced due to the oil on the brake shoes, then again 1 month in July then once again in November. The car is again leaking for the 4th time and is going back to Nissan on 30th of Janurary 2018 for the 4th time??? I don't understand how Nissan can let this continually happen, what do I have to do just to get my car fixed they just seem to not give rats.I find it very disappointing concidering they make such a nice car.
Anyone got the answer
Cheers Norm

This ticking noise is intolerable .
I don't know what I am going to do ?
Car is still pretty new 1500 km, but has ticked and flutter right around the driving rpm and throttle position .
First trip to Nissan, and they can't hear much of a problem, They say they heard it faintly and advised bring back leaving overnight so it is cold for testing, I believe it is much louder when cold, when ever your coasting down hill you get this weird noise sort of what I'd say a fluttering butterfly valve noise .opening then closing very rapidly, it almost the opposite of the acceleration noi...Read more

Hideous ticking noise on acceleration and deceleration...
Hideous ticking noise on acceleration and deceleration, can't believe Nissan make such crap in this day and age with such advanced technology available... Oh and if you think you can ask service about it, forget it as their standard line is its "normal" for the engine to make that noise!!! And its normal diesel engine sound!!! Rubbish, I've owned diesels all my life and they don't sound like an old cattle truck the day you drive it off the lot....

Couldn't drive anything else
I love everything about my navara, the new coil spring suspension made it an easy choice for me, it has a great driving position it doesn't do as good on fuel as it use it but still reasonable at 10.5L per 100kms
My only complaints is that there is very little storage internal and the plastics on the doors scratch and mark very easy which is not practical for a tradesmen!

A reasonable car. But feeling dated
I've done 20,000 ks in 7 months in my STX. And I gave come to the conclusions of.
. Great on fuel. Averaging around 8.3 lph
. Mines a 7 speed auto, and the Transmision is nice for a big car.
. The engine lacks torque compared to the Colorado ltz I had, but it is alittle more refined. Although I'd still rather the Colorados engine.
. The entertainment system including the Satnav is absolutely rubbish in todays day and age.

Comfy for a cab chassis
The best turning circle eva no horrid noise in full lock! The interior is awesome very car like., all the bells and whistles and mine is the standard 2x4 DX, plenty of legroom and power windows. l highway travel to work 40 km so I set the cruise control and do a tank of fuel in 6 days.it lacks get up and go when towing a reasonable load so being a 6 gear petrol traveling in 6th is awfully sluggish. Bit all n all I love my ute. Thank you Nissan

The right ute for me
As far as dual cab utes go, I found the the NP300 Navara ST-X the best for my purposes. My previous ute was a Colorado LT and my Navara is far superior. I've had the ute for 12 months now and clocked up just over 12,000km without any significant fault. A number of people have asked me is I still like it and the answer is always "yes, very much".
The coil sprung rear end is brilliant for my purposes. The Navara has the most comfortable unladen ride of its class in my opinion (I test drove Hilux, Ranger, Triton and had a Colorado). Many review...Read more
s criticise this suspension setup as it suffers under a heavy load so tradies may need a leaf sprung ute, but for weekend warriors such as myself I think it does the job very, very nicely. I haven't found the load-carrying or towing to be any sort of problem (although I have installed a two inch lift), and I tow a 17' inboard ski boat on tandem trailer or an old, heavy Jayco Dove wind-up camper with the tub full of stuff. In fact, the twin turbo and seven speed 'box mean the Navara tows much better than the more powerful Colorado. I found the Colorado was always searching through gears and revving its guts out whenever I towed; it always wanted to be in the highest gear possible and had no bottom end torque, which means it was constantly kicking down. The Navara just handles it better - the torque comes on much earlier and the gearbox has tighter ratios and a better map; it just always seems to be in the right gear. The interior is comfortably the best in class. Everything is easy to use, read and reach. The infotainment screen, whilst being a full touch screen, has physical function buttons, volume and scrolling dials. If you've every had a touch screen without buttons or dials you'll know how infuriating it is to constantly hit the wrong virtual button. The only thing missing is an outside temperature display, which is a bit weird considering it has dual zone climate control. Adjustable lumbar support makes the Navara one of the most comfortable utes for me (the Colorado was hell). I find it quiet, and I'm a person who is particularly prone to being annoyed by noise. The steering is a little dead as the ratio is pretty slow, however the Navara handles well enough and lets you forget how big it really is (which is actually a little smaller than other utes, but that was a positive for me). It certainly has the best behaved back-end in it's class; it won't skip around on bumps like the leaf sprung utes will. Gearbox is smooth and seven gears is not too many. Excellent fuel economy, especially when towing. The only beef I have is the front side window weather shields have come un-stuck, but that's an easy fix with some good double sided tape. Nissan build an excellent vehicle, however the dealer experiences have been poor. I suppose I only have to see those muppets once a year, whereas I have a good ute every day.Similar opinion? This is such an amazing car!
The driving experience is amazing! The car is very quiet but very easy to drive. The handling is amazing. I can turn corners at ease. I love the leather interior and I love the radio and the reversing camera.
It's very reliable however the running costs are quiet high for a new car.
