Excellent for those cold winter nights and smart home compatible!
I'm going to combine my reviews about the two Nobo heaters, NTE4T20 (2kw with timer), NTE4T10 (1kw with timer), Nobo NCU2R (wireless receivers), and Nobo Energy Control System Hub (N/HUB) which we purchased about 2 years ago. Enough time to sort any pros and cons.
Moving from Canada to Australia in 2011, you'd think I could handle the cold. Well guess I acclimated very fast and Sydney winters while mild comparatively, anything below 10C is COLD!
As always, I did months of research into what to buy. I narrowed it to the Nobo's (made in Norway...Read more
) and Noirot. Mainly positive reviews on both, I guess it was a matter of ease of use, reliability and overall safety and function. The biggest plus was that the Nobo could be controlled with an app and say be set to come on before we got home for the day. Or a particularly colder day, being able to turn them on where the dogs were to keep them warm. You can mount them either on the wall with included brackets or with castors. We chose the latter. Now if space is an issue, these heaters are super thin, however they are rather long. Almost double a similar wattage heater from Noirot. So keep this in mind when researching. Many heaters claim to be more efficient than others, but in the end they all will use the same amount of electricity to produce heat. The higher the wattage, the more energy used, but will produce more heat. Going with the 2kw and 1kw seemed like it met our needs for the space we had available. They are very sleek and unobtrusive. They vent from the top, and their front panels stay cooler than most other convection heaters, which was a concern with two mini foxies running around bumping into things.Purchased in May 2021 at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Electronics for $1,250.00.

Manual for panel heater
My small panel heater has not been used for months but when switched on it doesn’t heat. I’m guessing this is due to needing reprogramming. I cannot find a manual on YouTube that helps. Could you help please Where can I find instructions Thanks. Adrian

Nobo heaters have proven to be a terrific buy in all aspects
I purchased three 2400 kw Nobo panel heaters with timer and thermostat in order to heat an old, solid brick Victorian era terrace which is freezing cold in winter. The Nobo heaters are the best that I have ever used being safe, quiet, economical to run and with the capacity to heat very large, drafty rooms with high ceilings. I was initially concerned that electricity bills would be high but there was only a slight increase during winter months, despite using the Nobo heaters during the day and until late at night. Using the Nobo heaters result...Read more
ed in a warm and cosy winter and my only regret is that I did not purchase them years ago. I would buy more Nobo heaters and would also recommend them to others. Another family member also purchased Nobo heaters for his cold and drafty Edwardian era timber home and he is equally pleased with them. The Nobo heaters are so effective and efficient at heating that at times the rooms were so warm that I turned the heaters off. Great product. I haven't experienced any problems at all and even if the heaters last for "only" 10 years, I'll still consider them to be a good buy.Purchased in May 2021 at Harvey Norman Retail Stores - Appliances for $400.00.

Nobo No Go!
NOBO NO GO! I have 4 Nobo heater panels and recently 2 stopped working. They are 6 years old and Nobo won't repair them even though they are within the 10year warranty period. I don't have the purchase receipt as it is too long ago and neither does the shop I purchased them from. They are within the warranty period Nobo, fix them as you should! I'd never recommend these heaters, as so many seem to fail during the warranty period - 2 out of my 4 aren't working and Nobo won't do anything about it.

So Disappointed
It does not effectively heat a small area. I have to sit next to the heater and place my hands over the vents to feel any warmth. Overpriced. Very disappointed.

Lifetime Warranty ! What a joke
So we have some Nobo heaters, and they work really well . Until i had to call them and ask about the LIFETIME WARRANTY !
So Lifetime does not mean lifetime, it means 10 Years .I looked all over the website and nowhere does it say that lifetime is 10 years .So buyers be careful with NOBO warranty, the product is great but the warranty is a joke and wrongly stated on there website .Maybe on page 10000 it says in a small fine print that life time is 10 years, i think that we are in 2022 and company's should not get away with this its misleading ! Shame on you Nobo you don't fix a broken timer so now we can't use the heater anymore !
Purchased in June 2021 for $395.00.

Nice heat
It is silent and heats the room well, the heat is much nicer than provided by a reverse cycle unit. The heater doesn't get so hot that it would burn my kid if touched, and the room is maintained at a constant temperature. The only downside is that it's very long.

Very happy with this heater
This is our 2nd Nobo heater, we think they’re great. They’re efficient, silent, thermostat is very accurate, looks great and it doesn’t get too hot to touch as we have kids. We just have them on the castors but I like that they can be walk mounted too.

Heater works, but costs a fortune to run
The heater works but our electricity bill after introducing this item to the household went from a family of four ppl using roughly $3 electricity per day to $12 per day. This was based off setting the temp to 25deg with the thermostat which automatically turns heater off once desired room temp is reached and only goes on again if it drops below this temp. We got a horrible shock with a $1400 electricity bill for the quarter and needless to say it will be hot water bottles and heat packs for us moving forward. Pretty disappointed as we thought this heater would reduce our winter bill with the thermostat feature alas not at all the case.
Purchased in June 2021 at Bing Lee Physical store for $449.00.

Great addition to cold apartment
Great heater for apartment. Timer is great. Delivers good and constant heat although if heating large rooms would take a while to increase in degrees / to reach desired heat setting. Easy to operate and use with control. Can we wall mounted or portable which is very handy as we have a two level apt.

So pratical for our house
We have a long house and the gas heater we have just doesn't heat it all. We purchased the Nobo upon recommendation from a friend. It is great and we love it. Due to the caster we can move it around easily to the rooms we need to heat and it warms the rooms up very quickly. Each night we place it in the hall near the two bedrooms we use and, although it doesn't make them toasty warm, it does take the chill off the air a make it more comfortable to sleep. We love it so much we are very tempted to get two small models for the bedrooms and keep the large one for the living area.

Best electrical heater
Highly recommend Nobo elso panel heater for bedrooms. It is silent, provides great heat and very efficient. Our model has the timer, which can be programmed for the whole week. Furthermore it is slim so takes up no space at all. Clean and simple design so fits into any room style.

Questions & Answers
Tacklesasked
I have just purchased an NTL4T. The instruction manual is the worst I've seen with no explanation of what the symbols mean. I don't understand how the temperature controls work. I have tried to program the timer following the directions but it doesn't seem to work. even though the visual display indicates I have set both on and off times. I presume the picture of the sun means on and the moon means off? The heater works OK but for the price I paid I'd like some simple directions to set the timer on and off. I don't know if the machine is faulty or I am doing something wrong.

Although I am an engineer (but now 80) I cannot for the life of me follow your instructions to set up the NTE4T heater. Are there additional instructions for slow learners

Hi Graham,
Don't worry you aren't alone. These heaters were more than difficult to set up, especially the optional wireless controllers. The best I can say is YouTube, which I did.

Please I hope this helps somewhat. Manufacturers instructions just don't cut it for any age, so don't think you have that against you.
If you were in Sydney, I'd happily come by and help!

Atholie Hardenasked
I have this Oslo NTE4T heater. The Quick Start Guide shows the icon which usually means a mechanical problem as highlighted constantly but make no mention of it at all. Our last bill was enormously high so I have limited use of the heater which has reduced the bill. I am wondering if there is something wrong with the heater? Would this icon flash or something if the heater was faulty?I am now reluctant to use it at all.
Can you help?
