Still waiting for delivery of my kids book list. Ordered 5/12/19 and 2 items not arrived and receiving an automated email. Had to re buy items before start of school as delivery incomplete! Getting the impression will be hard to get refund!

The worst customer service.
I have tried last Thursday, Friday and now have spent all Monday morning on hold, how long does it take to pick up a phone???. This is beyond frustrating. I have been double charged on my credit card and have sent 2 emails on line, with no response. Why is there noone on your phone's here in Perth? I tried calling head office and was again on hold for more than 30 minutes!! Who manages to run an organisation so dysfunctinally?? So mad right now!

Poor customer service!
I get the back to school season is a stressful time for these businesses but OfficeMax has the most poor service and no customer support. I ordered books in November that never arrived. In the end I took my booklist to another supplier - Lilydale Books - and I couldnt believe how straightforward it was. I placed an order online, opted for home delivery and was notified my order was shipped the next day. I suggest everyone submitting their reviews give them a go.

No books for the start of year
I ordered like everyone else in December and received one small box with a handful of things after Christmas. I ordered for my 3 children and have had only one email listing some back ordered producers (no where near the number of things that should be delivered). I have spent over 2 weeks on the phone just trying to get through to someone to update me with my order status with no luck. The customer service line is ridiculous. I am constantly getting cut off or the number is busy. My kids now return to school tomorrow with no stationary or text...Read more

Worst online order ever
Ordered books online last December 15 and up to now I have not received anything. I tried ringing but no one is answering. My wife message you guys on fb and found out that there is no guarantee that books will arrive before the school starts. We decided to buys books from your local store here in Willeton and in Osborne Park and message you guys to cancel our online order. Can you pls give me my money back?

because of the wording in your letter ‘At OfficeMax and Winc, we want you to have a strong start to the year, which is why we have worked with your school to make back to school hassle free’, and also, ‘orders placed on or before 31st December will be delivered before the start of Term 1, 2020’ I placed my order on the 31st December, and at this stage it appears that my children will be starting school with no books or stationery. Not Happy
Our school changed to this group, not happy. Half books not available. Using the fires over east as excuse but that was weeks ago and should not be affecting things days before school goes back. One of the books was in the warehouse as of two weeks ago and was suppose to be sent out but has not arrived. Ring constantly either on hold or stated ringing out of office hours, which I am not. I have paid for my missing books otherwise I would source elsewhere. My theory is they put in a tender that was so low they undercut the experienced supplier....Read more
Then to make up for there ridiculous bid they have very little staff ( self serve, with no stock in shelves) and no experience to complete their contract. I hate sending kids off to school without their resources. So not happy. I am thinking we should all send letter to the Dept of Education and the Consumer Complaint Dept, because Officemax will not answers phones and have sent no updates of progress. Reported missing items weeks ago and they still haven't arrived - they took the money back in December!!!!!
Absolutely terrible. Reported 32 missing items from order a week ago and was "promised" these woukd arrive in time for school - still nothing!!! And of course they've had my money since early December. No sign of getting that back either. I will stop at nothing to make sure they never get a contract from our school again. Not even any communication from them - I've had to chase them and was on hold for 49 minutes. The worst.

No books - kids freaking out
Tried and tried and tried and tried to get through on phone to find out where my text book order is. Can't afford to go into the store and buy them again. My kids are stressing out. Not good enough - if you can't cope with the demand that you *know* will come, then don't be the supplier. No way this would happen at Officeworks.

Worst company and very poor service
I'm not happy at All. I've tried calling three time and each time I've been on hold for over 45 minutes and every time the call was terminated. I went to the osborne park store and waited another 30 minutes and was told the order was in progress and some books have been waiting for the courier collection well over 10 days ago. I was again told by staff to call the phone number. I told them I have three times and they apologised and said they were experiencing huge delays and we're sorry.

It appears that we are not alone...our children’s school uses this incompetent lot, we ordered & paid on 6/12/19 with a guaranteed delivery before school starts in 2020. Emails were sent but was not answered, until 24/1/20 when we received an email advising that our order has now been processed (7weeks since we’ve ordered). Phone calls were made to enquire when the order would arrive but we were put on hold for 30minutes without any answer. They clearly do not give a damn about their customers...and what a joke to be claiming that they have been working to support students, schools and education for the last 45 yrs. The volume of negative feedbacks is evidence of an inept department. 1st day of high school with ZERO ITEMS!
Really disappointed. We ordered AND paid on the 6th December with a guarantee of before school delivery. We have not received the order and today was the last day before school starts. I have called numerous times over the last week and been on hold over an hour with no answer. Emails go unanswered. 1st day of high school on Monday with NO books or stationary! And no idea when they will arrive! 8 weeks is more than enough time to have sufficient stock. We are never using them again for future years as this is so embarrassing to have nothing for our child. I now have to go shopping on the weekend to get the required items and will be expecting full refund for this order. Reporting to ACCC as I am down $250 with no items.

is 3 days away and no sign of my entire order. Received 1 x book on 10th Jan and an invoice advising everything else is on back order. No indication of when these items would be received, how to contact them to chase them up or details on tracking the order via Australia Post. I have tried ENDLESSLY this week to 1) email, 2) call to find out where my order is. The phone is either continually engaged, you get through to the right department and the robot tells you the system is down and to call back later or you are on hold for over an hour and disconnected!!! I am yet to speak to a human. I have had no response to my numerous emails to customer service. So that my children didn't rock up to school on their first day without ALL of the items they require (not even any HB pencils) I have now had to go out and purchase ALL items elsewhere at an additional cost. The order I placed with OfficeMax/Winc was $241!! I have lodge a complaint with PayPal to try and get my money back. No response from the supplier to date (been a week). All school should not deal with OfficeMax!
I don't choose OfficeMax but my son's school deals with them, and we are asked to order through them, i ordered before the cut off date in Dec 2022, until today no sign of my orders, and i received invoice saying there are items back orders! School starts on Monday. All school admin dept should read reviews of them and not choose them as supplier!

Horrible service. A big mistake to order here
Had ordered school supplies from them for both my kids. Only a few of my son's things have been delivered. None of my daughter's things have been delivered. No response to the online complain. And no response on the phone number as well. The kids start school nextweek. It was a big mistake to order here.
Update: the customer service department responded to the review here and I finally received my daughter’s items on Feb 4 afternoon. Still to hear about my son’s missing things though.

No contact and no delivery
Seems everyone is having the same problem. I too ordered before the cut off and not received the majority of it. I have tried calling on hold for 2 hours then was cut off. Have tried emailing with no response. Never has problem before in previous years.
Clearly they can't cope with the demand.
Suggest next year book lists are available at other stores too or maybe an October/ November order or that we order main books through school and just get stationary ourselves.

r. They refunded the $9.95 postage without telling me. No communication what so ever with this company. Even the school has tried chasing them!! We went to KMart today and picked up pretty much all stationary (saved a lot of money - they are so much cheaper!!) as my son needs it! Can't get the $250 calculator or the e-books.....no idea how I'll get them! And as for a refund - I can honestly say I won't get that!!!!! They guaranteed delivery before start of school and have not delivered their guarantee. They refunded the postage (without telling me) but that really doesn't help when my Year 10 son needed it yesterday! He's one of the only students in the year who hasn't got the booklist! I really think it's terrible that schools force us to buy certain items through one company and a absolutely useless one at that. This is out of my hands and there is NOTHING I can do about it! Need More Staff
Books and ebooks ordered and paid for before cut off. They claimed they had added all the books to my daughters account, however a $50 book was not added. Multiple emails, multiple phone calls on hold for 2+ hours and no response.
Updated: This problem has now been resolved and everything is the way it should be. Resolved through response to this page and I did manage to speak to a lovely man on the phone who genuinely wanted to help. Perhaps they need to look into training more staff for the back to school bombardment!

WARNING DO NOT BUY FROM THEM Order elsewhere - pathetic company of scammers
About 1/8 of my son's order arrived with no paperwork or follow up. I have called and been on hold for a total of more than 20 hours over the past two to three weeks and never spoken to anyone. Currently on hold on my landline and mobile. Automatically get hung up on after 60 minutes on hold. Multiple emails and contacts through the webpage. No response. No call back and no reply. I will never buy through them again that's $450 I'm never getting back

Finally spoke to a man on the phone who called ME back due to a missed call on his phone (no idea) who agreed we should all make complaints to the ACCC/Fair Trading as applicable.

Terrible service! Where is my order!! Can't contact either.
I ordered well before the cut off date, early December. Still nothing received. My children start school on Monday. I better receive my order by tomorrow or I'll start charge back procedures and you can collect your products if they are delivered by the time I've started the above. Absolutely appalling parents have had to wait this long.
Your emails every few days saying your order is being processed is laughable.
