Over charged, promised a refund of $16 within 30 days, driver couldn't understand gps. No refund. Will not use again. Have removed linked acc so they cannot take anymore from me.

Slow and reluctant customer service
I have waited almost two weeks for a refund for a driver that dropped me home and then continued to charge me as he drove home by himself. The driver managed to tick up over $100. Customer service keep telling me they will give me a refund but I have waited weeks for it.
I am a regular user of Ola so I find it terrible that they treat me this way. I wish this was a nice review as usually they are very good, however I need this to be sorted.

t refunds payments??? Can say this was not an easy ordeal but am just glad to have gotten it back, understand it was the drivers fault in the first place. However, if this happens again I will be sure to delete this app.7 comments

Disappointing
Finally gave Ola Cab a try after hearing positive review from a workmate.
Booked my first ride tonight and my Ola driver was 5 mins away, then checked my phone again while waiting and my Driver had suddenly disappeared off the map, with no explanation.
Another driver then connected to my ride request and was 5 mins away. The driver then appeared to stall and was taking a lot longer then 5 mins, the ETA seemed very inaccurate.

A rip off!!! Very disappointed.
Ola is a rip off! It is not the first time that I have problems with Ola. I tell myself it has been the last time I use Ola for sure. I took an Ola yesterday, they showed the fare around $53-58 and then I applied a 30% off so it was $42-48. My surprise: they charged me $59!!!! Can you explain me that??? Rip off...

Disappointed
I used Ola because it was a cheaper alternative to uber but when my friend used my referral code, once they had their first ride, I never received my $20 referral voucher that had said to be given when you refer someone. On top of that, I always made sure I had enough money in the bank account before I catch ola and the money goes out everytime but my account went negative twice after 2 ola transactions went out after being pending for a few days. I added up the total cost I took with ola and the total cost that was taken from my bank account overall and the total cost that was taken from my account was more than what it is meant to be. Very disappointed and won’t be using ola again.

Charges more that what is initially shown
Went to city from Mooroolbark, initially it was showing 54- something but when I completed, ola charge me 79. Contacted customer service and they said it was shown as minimum and maximum but I didn't notice maximum fare other than in 6... The charge me busy 1.43 for busy time but day before I took Didi, same time same route to same place and I got only charge 61. Just used Ola because you can get velocity points but no longer using it again. Thank you.

Great experience
I love knowing that when I ride with Ola my drivers gets paid more (extra bonus that I pay less!) It’s a great way to make sure we’re all helping each other out especially in these difficult times.

I was charged much more than quote
False advertising: 1-Nowhere to apply a promo code when you book the ride.
2-Fare quoted $21-$28 but driver took long route and OLA charged me $60. I disputed and final was$37.

If a coupon has already been automatically applied a green coupon symbol is shown - This is hyperlinked so can be clicked to see which discount is applied/ add an alternative discount if required. Cheaters..
When i first downloaded it says 50% off on your first ride and I took a cab from Auburn to Hurstville for $70 thinking they will give me 50 % off but later they charged me full and never refund 50% back. There adds are not real and they are very expensive. They are totally fraud and even the guy didn’t use toll way they charged the toll way for me .

Shortage of customers
I have been driving for Ola approximately 1 year, but don’t get more than 6-7 customers on week nights - on weekends the maximum for 1 night is about 15( driving 10-11 hours). Most passengers get picked up in the city and Eastern suburbs, a few from inner west. Last night I went to Epping n Cherrybrook for a few jobs but if I go to Nth Sydney or Manly or uppernorth there are no customers. Mostly only young people use Ola - hardly anyone over 50. Could Ola do more marketing out of town? Just wondering?

Cheaper than other ride shares
I've had great rides with Ola, the service is quick and reliable, and they pay their drivers more than their main competitor. Ola discounts are great and I trust them with my whole family

The app is unreliable
My preference is to use OLA as it’s cheaper then UBER, however sometimes it takes OLA app long time to search for drivers so I have no choice but to cancel and book UBER instead. This happens even with Airport pick ups. OLA takes the ride amount up front which is unusual. Recently due to cancelation as per above the payment method reverted back to my personal card instead of work card and I was unable to change it during the ride (you can do thus with UBER) which meant I had to do expense reimbursement from work which requires some paper work and time for them to credit me back.

he pre-authorisation charge is held at time of booking based on the fare estimate and released at the end of the ride when the actual fare is charged. However, it may take 2-3 days depending on the bank to show released from your card. I will pass on your feedback in regards to improving the app so that credit card details can be amended mid-trip. Charges more than you expect
I took a ride from home to the airport. Initially the price was $28-31. When I finished the ride it was charged 35. More expensive than others apps providing the same service.

Great ride on time and clean car
The ola ride was very good, driver friendly and courteous was there in 2 mins from my house and about 5 mins on the way back, driver makes more money than driving with UBER so much fairer for the driver.

I've nothing to complain about.........
I switched to OLA soon after they arrived here as I was made aware of the fact that the drivers receive a greater percentage of the fare. In reality there is no real difference between the UBER and OLA, and most of the drivers use both of the Apps in order to ensure a busy day. I have never had any problems whatsoever with any OLA driver, and I can recommend them to anyone who is thinking of using them.

I was using ola cab today Heidelberg Austin hospital to Broadmeadows. This driver was very rude
And driving was bad and nearly hit a back of a car. I was asking to slow down as I was sick. Finally he told me I was rude

OLA SATISFACTION
I have great satisfaction using Ola when booked they are usually arrive within 10 minutes and the tracking shows where and when the driver is coming from drivers are courteous and vehicles are always clean

inconsistent
ive some really good rides with ola but some not so good some drivers accept a ride before they have droped of there current ride leaving you waiting for some time while you watch them droping of someone else via the app . most are really good friendly drivers . I still recommend ola over uber even though ive had a couple let downs .

Hi Lindsay, I believe one of these charges may be the pre-authorisation hold. A pre-authorisation hold is placed based on the fare estimate when a ride is booked. Then once the ride is completed the actual fare is charged and the pre-authorisation hold is released. Depending on your bank it can take 2-3 days to disappear from your transactions list. Please provide the CRN (Customer Reference Number) from the 'Your Rides' section of the app? This will allow us to identify your account and confirm this for you. Thanks for your patience.
