Does Thermocook still only have the one cookbook? I was told quite a while ago that there was another recipe book coming out.

Hello Carol,

Thank you for your message. We currently only have one recipe book for the Optimum ThermoCook. You can however find new recipe ideas on our Froothie YouTube channel - https://www.youtube.com/user/FroothieTV. You can also find some videos from Jackie M who creates Malaysian-inspired dishes in our Optimum ThermoCook. We hope this helps :)

Your website has a nice comparison with the Thermomix TM5.
The current Thermomix model for the last year is the TM6.
How does the Thermocook compare against this?

What is the difference between a thermocook and a thermo Pro is it only that it has the mixing bowl if so can the mixing bowl be purchased on its own and added to a thermo cook.

Why my THERMOCOOK always has E02 on the screen and it stops working. I have checked everywhere is dry and make sure it's closed and place in the right position. I just don't know why, how can I fix this problem? Thanks

Optimum Appliances
Optimum Appliances ·

Hello Sophia,

Thank you for your message.

The E02 error message means that the temperature sensor is missing. One of the reasons might be that the jar is not placed correctly. Please, try to re-assemble the jug and make sure it is fixed properly and tightly in place. If this will not solve out the issue, you can contact our technical support team directly using this link: http://www.froothieinternational.com/warranty.php

We hope this helps but feel free to contact our customer support team directly via [email protected] :)

Hi Judiminx. I can't answer your question as I use my Optimum Blender for smoothies. However I do make soup in my Thermocooker from raw vegetables through to finished product so logic would say you could do it.

Optimum Appliances
Optimum Appliances ·

Hello Judiminx,

You can blend any ingredients using the ThermoCook. However, once you have mixed your greens, you will need to use a sieve to remove the pulp. If you like juices, please check our range of cold press juicers on this link https://www.froothie.com.au/store/optimum-juicer.

If you have any questions, please contact our customer service team on [email protected]. We hope this helps :)

FROOTHIE CUSTOMER SERVICE: Can you please answer this question? I’d like to know this as well as it is now already March 2018.

Optimum Appliances
Optimum Appliances ·

Hi Chelleiid, Chicky, Sundrop2204, better late than never :-)

First off please accept my apologies for the delayed response. It seems this question was missed due to a technical issue with our inbox. Nevertheless, I would be happy to provide the latest update regarding the new ThermoCook model. Our engineering team has been working tirelessly to come up with the best design to ensure all your needs are met and they will have a final version by the end of April, current year. If the product passes all the Quality Assurance tests we will be moving ahead with production and as soon as that is done, the product will be available on our website.

I completely understand that the wait has been a long one but we don't want to rush production only to bring "just another cooking appliance" on the market. Our products need to maintain a high-quality standard and the development process is usually laborious and requires multiple trial & error processes before getting it right.

In regards to Chelleid's initial question, the new Thermocook Bowl will not be immersible but our team is working towards making it dishwasher safe. We will know for sure as soon as the final version is complete.

I hope this helped and if you have any other questions do not hesitate to ask :-)

Cheers to your health,

Francois N.

Chelleid ·

Oh my! This is one VERY SLOW development and yes there are always technical issues when something gets missed or doesn't work or isn't received or whatever! hehehe
Bowl still not submersible? Really? That sounds crazy to me.
I need to consider options here obviously. Thanks for your eventual reply.

Cheers to your health too ;)

What is the best feature compared to Thermomix?

Optimum Appliances
Optimum Appliances ·

Hello Cara, thank you for your question.

When compared to other reputable brands such as Thermomix, the Optimum ThermoCook is an affordable appliance, offering exceptional quality and performance ensuring you get your money’s worth.

Major differences are:
· The ThermoCook can slow-cook for up to 12 hours, whereas slow cooking is not a feature the Thermomix has.
· The steamers provided with the Optimum ThermoCook are stainless steel compared to plastic for the Thermomix.
· The Thermomix has inbuilt scales in the machine, whereas the ThermoCook comes with a set of glass scales that are separate to the machine.

A full comparison between the ThermoCook and Thermomix can be found at:

http://www.froothie.com.au/thermomix-vs-optimum-thermocook

We hope this helps but let us know if you have any questions. You can contact us directly at [email protected]. :)

I need some instructions re: converting recipes from say Thermo mix to Thermo Cook as not too clever at this, as the book doesn't have an abundance of recipes as the Thermo mix
Also instructions on the DIY function please. TIA

Optimum Appliances
Optimum Appliances ·

Hello Margie,

Thank you for your question. If you use other recipes, you will need to adjust the speed, quantities, temperature and functions as they may vary from our ThermoCook. We suggest that you follow the ThermoCook recipes to get used to the speed, function and temperature settings before using other recipes.

To record your own DIY programme, please follow the steps below:

Press the DIY button and the icon will flash on the LCD screen.
Press the button again to select between the three options:
When the icon flashes, press and hold the DIY button for 5 seconds until the screen shows STEP:01
Set your desired speed, temperature, heat power and time. You then need to press the DIY button again.
You will see STEP:02 flash on the screen.
Adjust the settings for this step, repeat the previous step until the end of the programme, up to maximum STEP:20.
When you are finished, hold the DIY button again for 5 seconds to save.
To operate your desired DIY programme: Press the DIY button, select your desired DIY function and press START to begin the recorded programme.
If you press the Stop/Cancel button while you are recording, the machine will stop recording and abandon the programme.
To revise any DIY programme settings: If you need to revise previous settings while you are recording the programme, press the DIY button. This will cycle through the available programme steps from STEP:01 until STEP:20, then return back to STEP:01.
When a DIY programme is operating, your Optimum ThermoCook will stop for 10 seconds at the end of each step and beep. This allows you to pause the machine and add any ingredients you need for the next step. If you leave it idle during these 10 seconds, your ThermoCook will continue with the next step in the programme.
While the DIY programme is operating, you can adjust all settings without changing the recorded programme.

I hope you will find the above useful but please feel free to contact us at [email protected] if you have any questions :)

So the Thermocook has 20 preset functions (e.g. Quick Soup, stew, etc). When you select these, the screen only tells you how long the function goes for. It does not tell you the speed of the blade or the temperature. Does anyone know where to find these? I emailed Froothie about it and they sent me a link to the website that did not contain the information that I'm after. I hesitate to use a function when the pot is full of ingredients, if I'm not sure what is going to happen (will it puree my soup, simply boil it stiring slowly for 30 min, etc). Also, how do you set a DIY function?

I am having an issue with tying to make soup, neither the thick soup or quick soup buttons will work for me. When trying to make pumpkin soup yesterday, pressing the thick soup button allows 30 seconds of chopping and then th machine stops - E07. Error code 7 asks you to manually turn the lower clutch, this unfortunately does not fix the problem. I have tried it numerous times with the same result. Suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks, Linda.

I just tried to steam rice in my new Thermocook, just to test out how it works. Water went EVERYWHERE. I put just enough water in to cover the rice (as stated in the recipe book), and then put on the lid + measuring cup (also as stated in the recipe book). The lid was secured properly, pressed down and turned until it locked. However, once it started steaming, water spilled all over my counter from gaps in between the lid and the bowl - even though the lid was properly secured and locked, gaps still appeared and caused the water to spill over. Is my lid or bowl defective?

Unfortunately I cannot answer this question as I have cooked my rice satisfactorily. Maybe you have too much water even though the recipe says to cover the rice. Check all details of recipe and if not successful check with Help desk.
