Disappointing experience
Purchased a bottle of Dior sauvage 100ml cool spray Eau de toilette from this store the website stated that it is presented in a Dior gift box this item was for a gift ..... the product arrived only in its original packaging without the advertised gift box.
I have called Peter Kensington and been advised that despite the product page clearly stating there would be a gift box that this was not the case and it was not their fault but rather the fault of Dior for the misleading advertising on the Peter Kensington website. Several conversations l...Read more

Returns policy the worst.
Worst online store to deal with when it comes to faulty products. Takes days to get a response and they require EVERYTHING,even small cheap items to be returned first. They send everything to the 'supplier' to be accessed before issuing a refund or credit if you don't get in quick and tell them. The process can take a month or more. Makes you feel like your trying to scam them when they make you jump through hoops. More than enough stores online that have same products and prices so I won't be shopping there again

Just not sure how good..
I just purchased a Royal Albert Old Country Roses Montrose Mug. It was less than half the price of the ones in stores so was pretty happy about that. My package arrived very promptly so I was pretty happy about that too, BUT was I was not so happy about was the 'Made in Indonesia' sticker on the outside of the bubble wrap the fine bone china mug came in (no box??)! Is this why it was so cheap? My expectation would be that English Fine Bone China which retails at $89.95 would be made in England and come with a box however, if this is not the genuine article then I guess you get what you pay for. Strangely, the blurb for the product was an exact copy of that on the official Royal Albert site...the plot thickens!

customer service is appalling
I purchased a swiss diamond saucepan with lifetime warranty - I had a few issues with it from the beginning in regards to the handle kept coming loose constantly and then after about a year it kept sticking - I had a similar experience with scanpan and warranty was revoked because I used extra virgin olive oil - so decided this wasn't going to happen twice - read all the warranty fine print and only used coconut oil and butter - well it still stuck and of course waited for it to cool down before soaking it in water and then cleaning it with a c...Read more
loth - no abrasive cleaners or scourers did I use - actually only used it to make bacon and eggs on a regular basis - obviously the pan was too big but what the heck I believed the hype that it was a great pan. I contacted Peter of Kensington thru email and because I bought thru ebay when thru their site - I was emailed back info in regards sending photos and thank you in replying we will get back to you - this has taken nearly 3 months of back and forwards - then a person from their office contacted me called [name removed] (I now know that he works in their cookware dept) I was quite surprised that I got an initial phone call from him as I have never had this contact before but was very happy to speak to him once he explained how he got my no. and he then proceeded to tell me that Swiss Diamond had negated my warranty on the basis of me overheating the pan - I was very courteous and told him that this was not true and was very happy to send the pan in for further investigation but he kept ignoring this request and told me that he could not do anything further so I requested this information to be sent to me and also that I would contact Swiss Diamond direct - this person responded by saying he would send me this information straight away. Well guess what this person has not sent me this information has constantly tried to contact me by phone and leaves a message for me to contact him but of course does not leave a tel. no to contact him. He is a rude and inconsiderate person and if this is the type of customer service agents they have representing their company I am totally disgusted and they I believe management are not aware of the staff they employ. I had continual conversations with this person and the latest is that he has send the required information to me twice but somehow it has been blocked by ebay - what a ridiculous outcome - this person is living in another world - of course I have rang ebay to confirm this and of course they have kindly sent a request to this idiot for this information on my behalf. But come on employ people with integrity and maybe you will not get these dismal ratings.

I thought my packaging would still be here in more than a million years from now - but no.
The trays delivered to my home by Peter's of Kensington today were great
What upset me was what I thought was polystyrene packaging. I wrote complaining but then before I finalised it I jumped on the website to check I hadn't missed something. Peter's write that "The fact is, our packaging isn’t made from polystyrene at all. Our packing is actually made from wheat, believe it or not! It's completely natural, non-toxic and biodegradable. To get rid of it, just empty it into your bin or your bathtub, add a little water, and in a few hours, it'll be completely gone."
That just leaves the box, which is made from recyclable cardboard. Easy!"
So good, Peter's! I'm off to soak my packaging puff.

Disgustingly wasteful packaging and misleading product info
My main beef is the terribly wasteful packaging they used to ship the Spode jug I bought. This small jug was packaged in a large cardboard box filled with unrecyclable styrofoam pieces. What an incredibly environmentally irresponsible way of packaging their goods! it sickens me to think of the waste created by regularly using this method of packaging, and because of that I will never use their services again.
The other complaint I have is that the jug was listed as being 0.25 litres in size but the one I received was 0.5 litres. I've since discovered that the 0.25 litre size is unobtainable, so I didn't return it, but I would never have bought it had I known.

Wonderful Product - Wonderful Service
I ordered Chanel No.5 Bath Soap through the Peter's of Kensington website. The ordering process was simple, efficient, logical and speedy. It was dispatched next day and I received it in southern Victoria 2 days later. It had been packed very nicely and very securely by Peters. They are obviously a very efficient and well run business and I will buy from them again.

Poor Service
Purchased 3 Shun knives online. Perfect, prompt service. Very soon after one Shun knife needed repairing. At this point service was ok, they repaired it with not too much fuss. Two more knives needed repairing. So disappointed with the product. (Read the manual on how to use my product and care for them) However, it was the service that was more than disappointing. [name removed] you should have empathy. I paid good money for my Shun Knives and expected them to be what I had purchased. A lot of time spent going back and forth and finally w...Read more
ith much effort on my end, you are repairing them. A month later I had to chase it up, no follow up, no emails, no calls, terrible service when you buy something you expect great 'after service' too. Nobody wants a bad product and no one want's to have to complain. We just want a good product and most of all GOOD SERVICE.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Terrible
After what I thought would be a simple order, I received the incorrect item. Then the process of getting it sent back and returned and constantly having to chase up by sending emails or phone calls but getting no real reply or help. The company's customer service has a lot to be desired they are extremely unhelpful . I would never use this company again.

Christmas gift replacement
I purchased a Kitchen Aid artisan mixer for my daughter for Christmas. It arrived promptly, as promised, I ordered it via the express delivery method. When my daughter opened it on Christmas day, the power cord was split. On boxing day I emailed to say there was a fault and asked how to go about obtaining a replacement. They replied only after two emails and said they would need to see a photo of the fault and the serial number. These I supplied. No response. Another email, and then I was told to return the item for assessment, which I did. Th...Read more
is was the 29th December. One week later, no response, I sent another email, no response, then another to which I received the response, " oh we received the parcel we are now waiting for it to be assessed." How much assessment does a split power cord require. I would have thought this was basic, we supplied faulty goods, our integrity is at stake, we will replace the item promptly, no brainer I would have assessed. This was now 5th January. Several emails and a threat of involving fair trading later, still no response but on the 6th January a dispatch notice to say a new article was being sent, not express, which was what I paid for originally. The replacement arrived on the 12th January, 17 days after the fault, which was theirs was reported. All correspondence was initiated by me. No apology was offered for sending faulty goods, for not reacting promptly or for being so tardy in replacing a gift. Shabby service won't bother to buy anything from Peters of Kensington again.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Gift Card.
I received gift vouchers for the sum of $1,300 to purchase a Riedel Horn decanter ($1,000). They no longer stock the item although search engines show it is "Temporarily out of stock"
WARNING: Check it is on their website, as Peter's of Kensington will do nothing to try and accommodate you.
I am now obliged to spend the gift cards in their store and have to purchase the decanter elsewhere out of my own pocket!!
OUCH

Great, unless something goes wrong
I have shopped for many years at Peters and have bought some wonderful products at fantastic prices. i purchased a bread bin with laminated timber lid which within a week bowed so much that it no longer sealed the bin. I returned it and was offered a slightly better fitting lid. I pointed out that it was marginally better than the one returned. They admitted that they were all like that and it was the best one in the shop. I asked for a refund as the product was not "fit for purpose", after much ado, they reluctantly agreed.
I would never buy a gift from there as the returns policy is so difficult

Outdated Returns process
Very behind with their returns policies. Bought a faulty item - returns process took 3 weeks for new item to arrive. They also refused to pay for packaging despite heavy and faulty product. They have at times good sales but at the end of the day it's not worth the hassle if something goes wrong. Won't buy from them again.
APPLIANCES ONLINE has awesome, quick, no questions asked process and cheaper everyday prices.

Phone staff lack customer service skills
I ordered an item which was advertised as coming with three bonus gifts. When I placed my order, only two bonus gifts appeared in my shopping cart. When I rang POK, their salesman advised me that the third bonus gift was out of stock. I asked why it was still advertised on their website, and I got extremely unhelpful comments like 'I don't know' and 'it's not our fault'! I was disgusted and ask to speak to a manager only to be told 'I'll see if she has time to talk to you'. A second phone call revealed that the salesman was going to contact the...Read more
manufacturer to see if he could order the third gift. Next day I got a message advising that the third gift was going to be send out with the rest of the order. Thanks POK - I eventually got what I wanted (and what was advertised) after some pushing. Also your phone staff need some basic customer service training.Similar opinion? Terrible
I went to POK to buy a montblanc pen as a special gift for my son. I vaguely knew the style I wanted but asked to see a few different models just to check...SIX times the assistant asked me if I was aware of the price..I said yes and she asked how I intended paying..I said I'd use a card and she asked if I had my drivers licence!!! I felt insulted and told her so, and she said it was company policy. I went to a mirror to see if I'd suddenly changed the way I look but no..it was me..the person who happily shopped all over town and had NEVER been asked for ID in all of 75 years. Of course I left the store without buying.

Awesome on every aspect - bar one - live chat
POK is awesome but the live chat feature needs to be sorted.
Had to wait five minutes for someone to respond. No hello or I am looking into this for you
Now this seems kind've minor but for live chat, that is quite a long time to wait
