Great Machine just wish it was bigger

published

I got this from my mum when our oven was out of commission and it served our large family of 4 adults and 4 kids well for several months!
The only little quibble i would have would be that the basket is too small...
Also the instructions arent great if you have never used this type of product before but trial and error and after a few uses we were up and running! Well done Phillips!

Good, but wouldn't buy this one again

published

I've had this air fryer for around 6 years now. It was great to start with but over the years it's harder to clean (I used to hand wash, but have a dishwasher now & it still gets built-up grease on it.) It smokes a lot whenever there is anything a little fatty in it. I have to open the windows & doors to air the kitchen out or the smoke alarms go off. It's been a good size for just 3 of us (1A, 2C) but now the kids are getting older I find I need to cook more so do it in 2 or 3 batches which isn't always ideal.

Purchased at JB Hi-Fi for $159.00.

We've been using this air fryer for many many months now and love how simple it is. Cooking time in the book is wrong and takes a little more time than specified but works still good. Saves on fat and oil and makes eating much more healty and tast just as good as take out food

Easy to use

published

After a horrible kitchen accident a few years ago I said I would never fry anything ever again. But after seeing this air fryer in action at a friend's home I relented and bought one. Wow! It is a healthy option. Now I can cook things like crumbed fish, Weiner Schnitzel, Samosa and chips for grandchildren safely. I am so impressed. Had to go online to be certain of how to clean it properly. this product cuts out the concerns and worry I had earlier, about frying anything,

Healthy lifestyle begins

published

Bought this last month and i started to cook my food without any oil! It’s great to cook prepackaged food such as fish fillets or chicken fillet, no need to heat up like an oven and it’s also great to heat up leftover
A thing that annoys me is to clean and wash it, it’s too large to get to the sink and im not sure if it can undergoes with water, so it’s a bit confusing for me, I usually will wipe it with tissue paper if it’s not that dirty

Reliable machine

published

Have had the Phillips air fryer since it was launched about 6 years ago. Hasn’t missed a beat. Use it to air fry samosas, wedges, chicken. Works a treat. It came out as one of the first air fryers with Tefal. We decided to go with Phillips and glad we did

Works Very well but is quite small

published

Works as well as any other air fryer I have come across, the area available for cooking is actually quite small despite the machine being relatively large.
Probably my only complaint is that when cooking a whole bag of fries, it needs to be split into 2 or 3 lots which can be a pain.

I believe I have one of the larger ones already! So I'm not sure that's the right fix for it.
That said I'm not going to pretend to understand the technological difficulties of making an airfryer!

Perfect and great value

published

Bought this air fryer from Harvey Norman about 6 months ago.
It's easy to use and clean for us as a small family.
It's also healthy because it doesn't need much oil.
Highly recommended to buy this product to save time and money for cooking. Say Bye Bye to traditional oven if we could bake something using this air fryer in 10 min.

I love my airfryer. If it breaks, I buying another one on the next day

published

It doesn't require any oil. I'm using mine every single day. To heat bread, to bake, roast and airfry. My roast is done in 25 min, medium rare, crispy outside and very juicy. So perfect and no mess in the oven. Easy to use and easy to clean. The tray is dishwasher safe.

Great machine but doesn't replace my oven

published

I have had two of these similar machines in the past. While they do a great job for small things and they heat up a lot quicker than a normal oven, I still use my oven for the big family meals. It is also a bit difficult to clean but great for quick meals

Makes cooking so much healthier

published

Got the airfryer to reduce deep frying. Use it to make all types of fries and chicken recipes. Truly amazing how little or no oil it requires. The fries cooked with it may not taste the same and please everyone but it truly did cut down the amount of oil used significantly. One downside is the cleaning - rather difficult to clean properly so inner container tend to get a bit dirty after a while. Would definitely advise to clean as soon as possible after cooking.

Its like an oven but quicker!

published

Ever since I have purchased this, I find I am using my oven less and less. I cook so much food in this, especially frozen food. The best thing is how quick it heats up, so I am eating frozen meals in no time. Its easy to clean and much simpler to use than the oven.

Best investment in the kitchen!

published

I was able to cook a lot of dishes in our Philips Air Fryer without losing the taste and texture. The output of the fryer is far better than deep frying. In deep frying food may get soggy as oil enter food, here with Air Fryer there is no such issues. My husband and I loved it as we can do other stuff while it cooks. Perfect when you are busy and/or in a rush

The Philips Viva Airfryer is amazing and I have been using it for more than 2 years. Although it's hard to wash, but it's worth it. You can deep fry almost anything in this machine and I have been using it everyday and it's a product I cannot live without.

Hi Rana, that's an interesting question. Both models are offered in Australia, so it's safe to say that it's not designed for the USA only. As for the effects on the electricity: we just asked our specialists to look into it and tell us if there are any. You'll be the first to know as soon as we know more.

Hi there,
I am not sure, however it may be the size and wattage of the element maybe?

Thanks for your reply! I actually looked it up online after i posted the question, and found that the end numbers are the same model but different colours. I bought the 66 which is red and black.
