worst company ever broken promises no phone calls even though ombudsman got involved. NOT GOOD ENOUG
Have a medical condition and new baby. Power Direct promised to have new digital meter installed in 3 days as I have had solar installed. Different phone consultants either don't know their job or keep lying to me. Keep telling me service order sent when it hasn't been received by the meter install company. Then making more and more service orders, all not received by digital install company. Told now that they deliberately keep the service orders for 17 days before sending them off. What a joke. Power Direct are incompetent, disrespectful and arrogant. Don't have anything to do with this company. RUN.

Hopeless
I knew I was in trouble when I heard the fake American accent.
But, I persisted. I just wanted to know if my Mother's bill had been sent. She was concerned she hadn't seen one for a while. I understand privacy laws but come on. Has it been sent and when was it sent? Is that so hard?
I'll be making inquiries ASAP to switch her to another retailer.

Rip off's
I joined power direct then got a two month bill for 400.00 within that time I didn't use hardly any electricity turned off the switches when not in use I only switched because I thought I could save money but they have doubled the bill then my previous electric company I then rang customer service and asked why is this bill so high they were abrupt and not helpful at all I'm changing back nobody needs service like this and extremely high bills.

Horrible rude
Moved over a year ago! never received final bill, 2 hours on the phone over a year later regarding a bill that was a year over due and i never knew had been issued, as had long term payment plan i was continually paying. company refusing to take responsibility and refusing to accept payment plan threatened to send account to collection agency, Horrible customer service one woman from overseas call center yelling at me to take full responsibility and even hung up, would never recommend.

No one is staying at the house...the electricity is turned off...yet I get bills and telephone calls from threatening people I believe are off shore call centres....I explain ...Impay out of frustration....then new bills arrive and we repeat the process.

Rip off
Power direct.... modern day thieves!!! Have been with them for roughly 6 months and within that period I've paid so much money that it's ridiculous. When I've rang them up to sort out what's happening I get a person that doesn't speak much English it makes thing so frustrating.
Beware!!! Not worth the hassle.

Disgraceful
Started off great when they were Aussie run. Have become the most incompetent company I have dealt with in a long long time. I literally don't think they could stuff anything else up if they tried.

3 days without power completely incompetent customer service. Discounts for direct debit customers only and I personally wouldn't want them to have free access to my accounts.
Very patronising service even if they haven't completely understood your issue you still need to listen to their box ticking spiel, and notes on phone calls complete crap. Very poor non transparent service.

Worst electricity company we have ever been with
Moved houses in April, thought we had signed up with AGL to find out its Powerdirect. Discovered recently that they never took a meter reading, have been estimating. We are receiving monthly bills for over $1000 which is impossible!!! We have just moved from a house that had a pool, all electric house and we were receiving bills for just over $1000 over a quarter which we thought was high!!!! Now the house we are at has solar panels, gas for cooking etc, cannot see how we possibly can be receiving bills for these amounts. Have complained to o...
Read morembudsman. Powerdirect informed us that they have done actual read now and bills are correct. They told us different houses use different amounts of power so that may be why the higher usage. Have complained again to ombudsman as we are not satisfied with there comeback. We will be changing providers very soon. Absolutely ridiculous and unsatisfactory customer service. Billing Integrity issues
4 accounts and 3 were wrong. The issue relates to incorrect tariffs, no solar feed in. Three times the front of house consultants admitted the bills were not correct. I was told on each occasion no reminders would be sent, no bills combined and no pay on time discount would be lost. I was told a new bill would be issued, well none of the above applied unfortunately, rude reminders, bills combined and pay on time discount lost. Read morempany last week although was on a 44% discount, although I am sure I was paying more than I should have. One interesting note was when speaking to their offshore staff they told me on 2 occasions I would get a new meter read and someone would come out to do that, but when talking to onshore I was told they would not ever do that as they do it electronically. Deceitful and shameful supplier!
Appalling service speaking to person with poor English. They are very cunning with answers to questions.
Increased charges by 36%.
Will seek alternative provider.

Worse than useless and in my opinion deceptive
Terrible truly terrible. Deceitful and shifty. Received a bill which several of their employees admitted was misleading. They charged me $200 for a dishonour fee and when I complained to the ombudsman they simply restructured the bill and charged me for it somewhere else. They refused to do anything about it. I am disgusted that every billion have received from these people have been wrong. Please don't go with them.
Terrible. Anyone else must be better.
After 15 years of using this company, they cut off supply to a business with limited contact or notification.
Any other provider must be better.
Will change provider this week.

DON'T trust what they say of the phone, The staff are Hopeless
They do not do actual reads nearly always estimates then make errors, Loading your bill with extra hidden fees.
You get staff that do not know there our procedures & make so many mistakes.
Do trust them, you have force them to send an email, this is the only way to have them accountable for what they say over the phone.
Terrible service
Power direct changed their billing system and all hell broke loose. I receive my bills monthly as it is a business account and the bills are large. They didn't send me a bill for 7 months even though I rang them weekly. I then received a HUGE bill and they gave me 7 days to pay it, as now I was a "bad debtor". Service was terrible and trying to talk to anyone in Australia was impossible. Last portion of huge bill arrived with due date of 16/5/17 but have been advised that my power is being disconnected on the 15/5/17. I had to pay in advance to get the disconnection lifted.
Absolutely horrible - avoid, avoid, avoid.
Power Direct were great to begin with. They told me they would always be Australian, and if I called, I'd always speak to an Australian. Then, the billing turned weird and I spent two years trying to resolve the issues with their billing system. Now they have moved overseas and the customer service is horrible!! Unless you want to have the Energy Ombudsman on speed dial, don't waste your time with these guys, regardless of the deal they offer you. Increased rates 4 days into billing cycle without notice
Signed over to Powerdirect in July last year. Noticed my latest bill was quite high and on inspection noticed that they increased our rates 4 days into a 90 day cycle (meaning we have been charged at the new rate for 86 days). Rang them to find out why we hadn't been informed and their Contract states that they don't need to inform you of any price increases until the following bill. Buyer beware!!!! This sounds like a dodgy way of increasing your rates without you noticing. If you are with Powerdirect, check your latest account thoroughly as you may have been stung too. Proud to say that I am no longer a Powerdirect customer!!!
Absolutely Terrible
Absolutely appalling service. Received two letters indicating that our account had been closed as per our request (which was never made), advised that we would be notified after investigations were carried out (which never happened), received bills in March for September power usage. Completely disgusted in their service. Would NOT recommend this provider to anyone
Dodgy
Just spoke to a lady about my solar connection, she told me to turn it off until its signed off by power or I said no and she told me I may have pay what's been put in the grid she said not to ring power or as they won't communicate with you funny I rang power or and they were fantastic, treat people like fools that'll get you business.

Very poor customer service
Having signed up with Power direct 5 years ago was happy enough with them in the beginning. Probably because I never had to contact them. Then after moving house started getting suddenly huge bills every few months, long story short they didn't tell me when we moved that I was now in a home with a different meter and couldn't have an off peak time. When I complained I was told for $100 they would come configure the meter so could have off peak. After telling them no I can't pay another $100 on top of bill I changed backed to Origin. When asked them about the meter I was told it could be up to $800 for one. Not happy but at least Origin told me the truth.
over estimated bills
thought I signed with AGL. Ended up with powerdirect. they have overestimated so many of our bills, you ring they say we will investigate, 2 months later still nothing, only disconnection letters. our business was closed for 10 days over the Christmas new year period, yet the estimated our usage was more then peak winter times. hopeless to deal with will be changing very shortly.
Ridiculous Company to deal with!!
I received a final notice for a family members electricity account. I contacted them to request a copy of the invoice be sent to the family members address/email as they are in hospital very unwell. Power direct refused to send the invoice out!!! How am I meant to review the account and pay it if they won't send it out???? If they take this further I am complaining to the ombudsman.

Do not use this company... Ripped off :(
$$$$$$ how can my 3 month bill go from $284. With Origin to $ 864.00 with Power direct. Not helpful on the phone at all, I was told they may guess your usage if they see a dog in your yard....wth. Wish I had stayed with Origin. I live alone and am at work 54 hours a week, how on earth can I use that much electricity???
