If you want heat, buy something else
We bought one of these costing us $2700 with installation. They advertise it as being able to heat a room 20m2 but our room is 12 m2 and it doesn't even heat that. You have to sit right in front of it to feel any warmth. Our sofa is less than 2 meters away from it and we're sitting here cold. All the heat just goes straight up the chimney instead of out into the room. We feel we have paid all this money just to look at some pretty flames. We could have spent a third of the money and got a gas heater that is a lot more effective. We have complai...Read more
ned to the people we bought it from and to real flame but real flame don't seem that bothered, we are still waiting for them to come and look at it. My advise would be unless you have $3000 to spend on some pretty flames buy something else. We are very disappointed. If I could give zero stars I would. Pretty flames It doesn't heat2 comments
Regarding the above, you have not "immediately acted" on my complaint, I have been waiting 8 weeks for someone from real flame to call me. When someone finally did after many many e mails, I expect af... Read more
ter paying this much money some sort of decent after care service, something real flame do not provide. when you called I was already annoyed at how long it took for someone to bother to call me, and instead of handling the situation professionally, you only succeeded in making an angry customer even angrier. well done. as for the amount of heat generated by the hot box, you advertise it as being able to heat a room 20m2, and as I said in my review, our room is 12m2 and it is unable to even heat that, therefore it is your advertising that is misleading. secondly, at no time pre or during purchase were we informed that the effectiveness of this fire is as you state "subject to the room and other factors." we were never informed of any other factors, we were told that the product heats a room 20m2, that is all. it doesnt.Similar opinion? s fire first, preferring the aesthetics of open fronted fires. as for service, Real Flame like many brands have a peak season where people both expect to have a fire fixed as well as their annual service. this makes for a very busy ime, and although additional outsourced staff are engaged, many prefer to wait or request the Real Flame tech. it is always better and cheaper to have a general service out of peak season.
