Why does my RB4 generator stop every time I plug something into it? It's only done about 6h run time if that.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

This generator is promoted as a camping generator yet needs to be ran in clean dry well ventilated area?
Yes, can someone please explain this to me too?? How can you possibly advertise this to be suitable for camping if it needs to be kept in a clean, dry & well ventilated area?
I was once keen to purchase one of your generators but these reviews and your reply’s have now got me rethinking. If the machine is so susceptible to dust, do you recommend that they not be used for any inland Australia travel? If it can only be used on hard surfaces like concrete in caravan parks you may as well get a powered site. I think the negative reviews outweigh the positive.
Hi Garry, I think there should be a warning label ... in red ... afixed to the generator, and the box it comes in, stating: "Warning: do not use this generator in the dirt/dust" . When I went to get m...

Read more Kind regardsI purchased the Redback 5kva about 6 months ago. Right from the start I have had trouble starting the unit. Usually after a lot of special words and plenty of pulling exercise, it usually starts and then runs well. Today it didn’t want to run. I live in South Brisbane ( Loganholme ) and want to know where I can take the unit to be checked out. Thanks, Michael

You can also email [email protected] and they will email you a copy of the manual.Hi can you tell me if the user guide relates to all your compressors as i can't find one ror the RB4 generator
just bought the Redback 4KVA generator and tried to get instructions on what to do. the download site www.shorturl.at/uxJNO came up as a dead end. i need to know what type of oil to use and instructions on how to use the generator. Very frustrating as I'm keen to use but reluctant to do the wrong thing.
I have just purchased a 2nd hand motor home with a RB4 generator. Not sure how old it is but has 30 hours on the display. I have found after running on load for about 15 mins it begins to hunt and eventually cuts out. I have replaced the fuel filter, checked to lines for air ingress and checked the load was stable but it still persisted. Today I removed it from it’s mount and ran it unloaded for about 30 mins. I noticed the governor on the carby was slightly rotating back and forth with some minor hunting. I then screwed the carby adjustment in 1 full turn, then loaded it to about 400w for about 15 mins, then to 1800w for 20 mins and then to 2500w for an additional 10 mins. During the process it did have some minor hunting but did not cut out. While the adjustment did not raise or lower the idle I was wondering if I’ve potentially found the issue. Or could it potentially have an air flow issue with the covers on. I normally do run it open to good air flow on a solid base. Would love some advice/direction

Hey Harold, I'm not sure if it is the same fault as I had with my redback, but within a year the ignition coil had blown. I hope you have better luck with your redback than me - as that was just the s...

also when running does it charge the battery
Hi there!
Thanks for getting in touch....
Read more If the RB4 cannot run a specific item then it indicates that the item uses more power than what the RB4 is rated for. The RB4 will only charge the battery if there is a load on the RB4 of 1000 Watts or greater. The 12v battery inside the RB4 can be removed for external charging. Kind regardsMy RB4 will not shut down with the ignition key and the remote control no longer works either ..... the problems happened at the same time
Have exactly the same problem so far nearly every trip have had some sort of issue with the Redback just over 6 months old
I had the same problem after 17 hours op. So did my friend. Had to start by hand and shut down by fuel starvation. I took mine back to iTech who charged $75 for a service. They replaced the ignition a...
Read morend remote but when I got it home it would not start at all. Took it back, they refused to do anything claiming that the problem was the result of my abuse of the unit. A local workshop could not start it either. Said there was no compression. Funny how it was working OK before service but not after. Consumer Affairs were no help. Bought a Honda 2.2 as a replacement. Similar price, same job, reliable.Mine did the same after a week or so (remote stopped working and key would not turn off) - only way to shut down was with choke

Read morey start but the battery was flat. But it would not start with cord. Took it back but iTech refused to touch it claiming that I had voided the (5 year) warrantee because there was dust in the cover and some corrosion on internal alloy parts. Took it to a local work shop who said they could not start it because there was no compression. Plenty of spark and air cleaner clean as a whistle. iTech tells Consumer Affairs that the motor is stuffed because of my misuse. Funny how it was running OK before I took it to iTech for service ($75) but not after ????? $1,500 down the drain. Good luck.I am interested to purchase this Generator in 2nd hand. Its only 1 year old. It is the warranty transferable? What should I look out for. Seller claims it only ran for 20 hours

What is it's full load decibel level ? Does anyone know ?
