Love my bike
I bought my Reid Falco Advanced six months ago from the Perth store. Since then I have clocked up hundreds of kms on it and its never broken a sweat. For $700 it came with Shimano 105 gearing - couldn't get better value for money anywhere. I have taken it for servicing several times (which was free) and the staff have been sensational. As a newbie cyclist when I bought this I planned to go buy a fancy more expensive brand bike if I enjoyed cycling but now I'm looking into one of the Vantage series Reid bikes just for the value for money and service that comes with it. Would recommend 10/10.

Bike ok. Missing and defective parts. Poor customer service.
Bought the Vintage Ladies Classic Plus 7-speed from the Perth (Balcatta) Store and it is a nice looking bike and overall quality is good for the price. However, on getting it home, I noticed the crank nut covers were missing and the foamy material in the right-handlebar grip had perished and you could feel the handlebar through the grip - something I hadn't noticed in the store since I was mainly focused on testing the brakes and gears and safety-related aspects.
No problem, or so I thought. I contacted the store the next day and explained ...Read more
the problem and was told to bring the bike in the following week and the mechanic would replace the parts and fix any other problems. No need to book it in, since it was a relatively simple task. So far so good. Until I actually brought the bike in the following week and the staff told me I should have booked the bike in if it was due for any mechanical work. So I had to explain the predicament all over again before being told curtly to, 'Take it over there then' - there being the service desk. Once I got there, and waited a while, I was told there was nothing wrong with the grip, it was the result of the padding getting squashed when it was transported, flat packed, to the store. It should puff back out after about a week, I was told. As for the crank nut covers, well I might as well have asked for a kidney for the look I got! 'How many do you want?', he asked me (??) 'Just the two,' I replied, 'that's all.' Begrudgingly, he went off and found me 2 replacement crank nut covers - he even popped them in for me (!). What I object to is not the bike, as overall it's actually pretty good for the price. It's not even having the missing / defective bits - you're going to get some issues if you pay less, and well, buyer beware, I get that. What bothers me is being told on one day there's no problem, just bring the bike in, and then to be told the opposite once I've made the 1-hour round trip to the store. If you really want to say no, just say so! Don't make me come all the way there and then change your mind. AND whatever you do, don't talk to me like I'm asking for something you didn't already agree to in the first place! (Incidentally, the handlebar grip has not 'puffed out' as described, It is still as it was, and it has been nearly a month.) Needless to say, my servicing dollars will be spent elsewhere ...1 comment

Poor after sales service
Bought a Falco road bike online that was delivered in reasonable time, noting that it was just before Christmas. Took the bike to the Perth store where I was told it would cost $35 to set up the bike. I queried this as it states online that all Reid bikes would be assembled free of charge at Reid Cycle stores. The guy told me that I would have to pay the fee, as I had assembled it myself. All I had really done was fit the seat pole and front wheel and straightened the handle bars. Came back to collect the bike three days later and another shop ...Read more
assistant was also equally rude. I intended on purchasing $300-$400 worth of cycle accessories including shoes and helmet but after dealing with two rude staff members, I decided to take my business elsewhere. Never to return.1 comment

Very good bike but terrible customer service
I bought the bike 6 months ago, really like it. However the customer service I experienced today at Perth store was terrible. I was trying to do my first after sale service and realised I should have booked in before I come. While doing a booking, the staff was very rude. When I asked whether he wants to see my membership card for the booking, he replied "Oh do you have a membership? I don't". When I asked for the available time, he said "any" but was laughing at me when I was trying 9 in the morning as they open at 10. I believe I would go somewhere else for my future purchase.

Great Value!!!
Recently purchased a mountain bike and ladies vintage bike for myself and my wife from the Balcatta store. We are very impressed with the quality of the bikes considering the price. Then purchased a baby seat to go on the back so we could take our 2 year old on family rides. After a month of riding everything is great. The salesmen were knowledgable and helpful without being pushy. Overall we are extremely happy with the whole experience.

Awesome bikes
I've recently moved to Perth for work, and I thought it would be a good idea to buy a bike to explore my new city, my brother bought a couple of bikes from the Brisbane store last year, one for himself and a lady's bike for his girlfriend and they both love them. He told me there's is a store in Perth, so I went to have a look, all the bikes looked awesome and some where really quirky, though I didn't have a clue what to get as I don't no much about bikes.. the staff where extremely helpful and I ended up buying a city 2 which is awesome! its a great road bike and its really good at handling light off road tracks, so it suits me really well and it will be an excellent tool to use to get in better shape.
Inexpensive, great for fittness

Amazing!
Thank you so much to the guys at the Perth store who assisted me the other week. Absolutely wonderful service and very friendly, even though the store was rather busy. My bike was assembled in a flash and all adjustments made. I love my new vintage bike - there were so many colours to chose from. And it didn't break the bank! I know I will definitely be sending family and friends your way. Keep up the great service :)

Terrible service poor quality
Cheap but not cheerful! I purchased 2 bikes for my teenagers through the Balcatta store & I now wish I had spent the extra $ and gone elsewhere. There is no after sales service, just excuses & false promises to call you back. The only solution is to front up at the store, make some noise then you might get your shoddily put together bike fixed...might. And don't hand over any $ up front, you will never get what you ordered. Cheap is cheap for a reason, I have learnt my lesson. Would never recommend these bikes or store to friends.

Terrible Customer Service at Perth Balcatta Store
Went into Reid Cycles, Balcatta all but ready to buy one of their bikes (even put the bike rack on the car) and was excited about sticking it to all the bike snobs who had told me "Nah, never heard of 'em....probably from China". I had also had some pretty good feedback on their bikes from my brother who had bought one earlier in the year.
A testament to the power of poor customer service, 10 min later I was walking out empty handed feeling pretty angry and unlikely to ever trouble them again. I know it might be post Christmas/Boxing day sal...Read more
es but there were ample staff in the store and not that many customers yet the place was a total shambles. After wandering around for a while trying to work out which bike was which (incorrect info sheets and price tags on just about every one....some had 3 different sheets - would have taken a staff member about 5 min to sort out) I was approached by one of the staff asking me, very unenthusiastically, if I needed some help. I explained that I was after a road bike and had done some research online already and thought the Osprey was the model I wanted. I asked him a few questions about accessories and the difference between the models to which I got mostly mumbled, unconvincing replies. After showing me the Osprey bike for a few minutes he realised it in fact wasn't the right model (wrong label on it!). He then muttered something and wandered off, I hoped to find the right bike. When he hadn't reappeared for a few minutes I went looking for him and found him in the service area with just about every other member of staff, all just chatting amongst themselves. Anyway, their bikes might be well priced, and they might even be as good value for money as they make out on their website; but there is no ways I will support a company that thinks basic customer service and good manners are an optional extra. Had good feedback about bikes from others Terrible customer service....store is a shamblesSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Falco Road Bike- Nice starter bike
Hi Gang, like many on here I was a bit quizzical of Reid Cycles after reading mixed reviews online. I've always ridden mountain bikes previously but wanted to get a road bike as I intended to start commuting the 10k to my new job.
Hours spent trawling on the web threw up a few options but they were all a bit pricey. At the end of the day all I wanted was a decent specced bike that wouldn't require either a second mortgage or an armed guard if I left it unattended in the street.
Stumbling across the Reid site I found some cheaper road bikes ...Read more

Happy Cyclist
Bought my reid condor bike at the Perth store, I've had it for 5 months and for the price I paid ($230 on sale), it's done me well. I've done 22 rides so far, approx. 18km/ride and a 50km ride. It started making funny noises after the big ride so I took it in on a Sunday expecting to have to pick it up the following Sunday (they only service bikes during weekdays) but they serviced it for me straightaway! Was really happy about this as it's a long way for me to travel.
All in all, decent bike for what you pay and great service.

Bicycle advertised on same day not available!
Found a cruiser cycle advertised on Gumtree Today (advertisement date Today) for $199. Raced down to buy one only to find none in stock and none expected in stock for three weeks. I would call this false advertising since it was advertised as available on Gumtree Today. Very disappointing, will not shop here in future!
Great deal if only available!
Item advertised but not available on the day!

Impressive
So I did a lot of checking around, read the reviews and looked at what I could get for my money.
I decided to check out Reid although the bike colour I wanted was showing as out of stock on the website. I just wanted to test ride it before I decided to buy online when it became available. Let's face it they are too cheap and I wanted to see why.
I went to the shop in Balcatta and there were so many people in the shop I could not get service quickly. Maybe a good sign but I wasn't prepared to wait so I went back on Sunday. Again it was...Read more
quite busy but I must say that the staff did an impeccable job seeing to everybody. There were bikes and people everywhere!!! I really wanted a mint green bike, and although the website said there weren't any, the shop still had a few left. How lucky. The bike test rode well and the service was great so I just bought it. It is so cute and the basket too. They swapped the seat and grips to white for me without charging and I got a discount for buying an accessory and service pack. All things, reviews and prices considered, I am pleasantly surprised. Thank you. Actually I am very impressed!! service and priceSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Reid has the best service, every time.
Why am I writing this? Well I was researching Reid online before buying and my opinions are contrary to some that appear on here.
3 months ago my flatmate bought a vintage style cruiser from Reid. I was with her when she bought it and the buying experience was awesome, and fun. I couldn't afford a bike myself at that time because I am university student but 3 months of saving I'm the proud owner of my new Reid bike.
The staff member who served me was introduced by another staff because he was the "Road bike expert" so they obviously ...Read more
look after the customers. I bought the Falco with the Shimno 105. The bike is such good value, and they have given me 4 years of servicing for $50. Who would do that if they didn't stand by the product? Anyway so far so good, I rode it from Balcatta store to Perth like lightning, and will ride it to uni and back from now on. I would definitely recommend Reid. The service, The Quality, The Price, 4 Years Service Plan.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Actually really great
I was initially skeptical after reading some of the average reviews of Reid bikes online, but couldn't resist a bargain second hand Reid 29er that was 3 months old and still under full warranty. But something went wrong with it on my first ride due to the idiot previous owner having the chain bone dry. Long story short - Reid fixed it, replaced the derailleur and everything, for nothing. Even though I was not the original owner they honored their warranty commitments and didn't skimp on anything. Really impressed.
Bike rides great now, no pro...Read more

Awesome Service
It isn't often I would go out of my way to commend the service I have received (mostly I'm not that impressed!) but at Reid Cycles I could not be happier.
I recently moved to Perth and wanted to get a bike to see the area while I am here. I was not looking to mortgage a house to buy a bike, but other bike shops I have visited made me feel like that is what I needed to do. I almost gave up all hope and started looking on Gumtree for second hand bikes. That is when I learnt about Reid Cycles.

ser for $235, I was able to test ride it with no questions asked by the helpful sales assistant. He went out of his way to make me happy and the shop was bursting with customers! What great value. I was blown away by the patience he showed with me as I was very slow in making my decision. It was just too good to be true and all my friends are impressed with my sweet new ride. To think I almost bought a second hand bike until I found this. I got the free $100 accessory pack, and although it wasn't necessary I am happy. The water bottle didn't fit but I slinged it to my mate. The pump isn't that good but hey it was free. In summary: Great bikeSimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Reid cycles
After all our bikes were stolen and the insurance company was less than generous pay out I was under presure from the boys to replace them. I gave Reid cycles Perth a go (saw them on gum tree) as i was on a budget and they looked the part.
I can't speak highly enough of the service.
