Its a dream to use
I have had this machine for about 36 months and in that time it has never let me down, I love the fact that it has no agitator, and also it has a turbo dryer incorporated in the machine, and this allows me to dry pillows and blankets on the line in a very short perios of time. It has all the normal features of a washing machine such as gentle, fuzzy etc,
prior to my Samsung TV, I had not used this brand, but I must say I am very happy with it.
At first, no agitator,
Nothing wrong with machine, but found the manual for use at first a bit of a problem.

Works welll
I bought the SW50USP version. I use this machine 1-4 times a week without any major problems. It doesn't seem to sense the height of a load of washing accurately, so I adjust it to a higher capacity of water setting. I love how I can wash bulky items such as pillows due to it not having an agitator. The only time I've had problems with things tangling (due to the lack of an agitator) is when I am pre-washing large lengths of dress fabrics, and they all end up in one big tangled mess.
Works well

Good
I like this machine have had for two years now without any problems.Apart from the tight detergent drawer. For a budget machine it is good value for money.
Price and reliability. Have not had any problems with this machine. As I mainly use cold water I fill the machine with warm water once a month and use a triple dose of powder and soak overnight without clothes. This keeps the bowl clean and odour free.
Tight detergent drawer.

I bought this machine about a year and a half ago after reading reviews on this site. I have never had a problem with this machine and would recommend it to anyone. I own several Samsung appliances which all display a high level of quality and reliability. Other reviewers have mentioned the detergent drawer being flimsy but I have not had any issues with it at all. The foldable lid was also a concern when I bought it but once again, it works fine and is stronger than I thought.

Horrible...gets out of balance easily
SW80USP - I really loved it at first but then the hot water inlet inside the back of the machine leaked badly before 12 months. The spray rinses used to be great to save water but now it gets out of balance very easily and swaps 5 spray rinses for 5 full fill rinses. Each time it gets out of balance, it starts that rinse all over again in an effort to fix itself. That uses alot of water.
I now have to baby it and be there for each wash. Do not buy this machine if you want to put a load on before bed to hang it up in the morning.
Multiple spray rinses until now - not a machine you can set and confidently walk away from
Hot water inlet started leaking heavily before 12 months

Easy as 123
I purchased this machine primarily because of its smaller size and proposed high frequency use.
I chose the smaller size so that my 89 yo mother could at least reach into it and pick up hankies or socks from the bottom of the machine. From there I chose the smaller size because I was expecting the machine to be operated daily with, on average a smaller load.
The selection of the tub without a centre agitator was important because mum suffers from incontinence and occasionally wets her bed. So this machine is actually quite good to wash ...Read more
wool blankets of queen size, kylie blankets, bed sheets and flexible bedside floor mats (not carpet material). The three spin settings allows for a fairly thorough spin out of water for quicker drying. The machine allows you to set a regular favourite wash cycle in memory, which is a three button start process, or you can opt out and select a cycle for an appropriate wash or fabric. Water height is automatically selected by clothes weight but is can be overridden for high volume - low weight loads. It's blister button controls also allow you to pause the wash when, for instance, you want to go and have your shower and dont want the hot water to be interrupted to your shower.Similar opinion? I used to have a sophisticated Electrolux, which ended up being a constant nightmare. When it died minutes after the end of the warranty, I received from the repairer the advice of buying the cheapest washing machine I could find and take a 5 year warranty. That is what I did. I bought the Samsung SW50USP with a 5 year warranty, and ended up being delighted with my purchase. This is the friendliest, easiest, most versatile little machine you could find. Even after selecting your program, you can modify it exactly the way you want, temperature o...Read more
f water, quantity of water, length of washes, number of rinses, pre-drying... There you can put in memory your personal preferences and get them back in a click the next time! The washing is very good as well. As with any other machine you need to spray some prewash on the stains, and on it goes! I am delighted with my choice. I have had it for 2 years now and never needed my extended warranty. What a difference! So easy to use, so friendly, I can organise the wash just the way I want! Price is an absolute plus as well!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
Terrible
I have cut my losses after only a few months and sold the machine at considerable loss. The machines was working "to specification"; it is unfortunate that Samsung's idea of how a washing machine should work are rather different to mine. I expect washed clothes that haven't had the life beaten out of them - this machine failed on both accounts. DO NOT BUY - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

I wouldn't recommend it
In 18 years My Simpson Delta 422 never required any service. It was however, showing symptoms of fatigue. Poor thing. I replaced it with a Samsung SW50USP thinking that if I got half of 18 years I would be doing alright. However, within 2 weeks I returned it to the supplier. It emitted a very loud bang when I manually changed water temperatures, as well as, during a full automatic cycle. Perhaps water pressure or valve related I considered this to be a serious mechanical problem. Apparently, this problem has been identified in other models, yet...Read more
it still hasn't been ironed out. Perhaps its less costly to do nothing or Samsung believe its standards to be in sync with those of its paying customers. Such mechanical failures one expects after long service. As it is, my confidence in the machine's durability took a nose dive. Secondly, changing washing, rinse and spin cycles I found infuriating, e.g. interupting the 'washing' cycle so as to reduce the remaining time of this stage had the opposite affect. The machine would begin the whole wash cycle from the beginning. In short, the more one tries to decrease various cycle times the more one is caught in additive and interminable loops. Ah, the old Simpson, whatever stage it was in simply depress the dial, click-turn to spin dry and wallah! The only good thing I can say is that the finished quality of the machine is excellent - but as they say you can't judge a book by its cover. PS: keep it simple. The more electronic bells and whistles on cheap-end machines(sensors and the like)the greater the probability of dissatisfaction and/or service. Read reviewSimilar opinion? Not bad, but not good either.
It is small and compact, though when I bought it said it was designed not to tangle clothes, but it tangles clothes quite badly. quite often the are weight distribution errors. the machine exterior ages quite fast, the plastic turns yellow if exposed to sunlight and the screws rust. you can see more than the drum inside the machine, which suggests to me that it is the same exterior as the larger load, but that is to be expected, but there is no compensation for that and when the machine is empty you can see wires along the inside of the exterio...Read more

And you cant have the nano silver sanitation and bacteria protection on on the same cycle. inexpensive, reliable, cleans clothes great, child lock doesn't work, delay start doesn't work, can't change the spin speed, long wash cycles, bad water shut off valve it clonks but still leaks into the drum.Similar opinion? An excellent machine that represents value for money compared to equivalent size machines of other brands. I especially like the fact that there are no agitator fins to accidentally tear clothes. Also the fact that the circuitboard is embedded in a protective gel. This would eliminate moisture corrosion problems of the circuitry. The machine also appears to take up less space than other equivalent 7.5kg wash machines. This is perhaps because it doesn't need the space taken up by the agitator in other washing machines. Hihly recommended as value...Read more
for money Samsung SW75USP washing machine. We have owned and operated this machine daily (sometimes 3 to 4 washes)since 17/1/10. The first thing I did when we bought it was to open up and check the circuit board. (Our previous machine was a Fisher and Paykel 7.5kg machine. The main circuitboard as well as one underneath the machine suffered from corrosion on the F&P). I intended to spray the circuit board on the new Samsung with circuit board varnish to help protect it from corrosion. I was plesantly suprised in opening up the Samsung. The whole circuitboard is encased in a gel like subtance about 10mm thick. There is no way moisture, salt air or water will be able to corrode any circuits. This is definitely a plus as far as I am concerned. The other plus for the Samsung washing machine compared to our previous F&P is that it does not have an agitator with fins. The F&P would occasionally leave a slash in a towel if it got trapped around/under? one of the agitator fins. No agitator in the Samsung means more space for clothes in the washing machine tub as well. The Samsung washes the clothes clean and also has a lint filter that efficiently traps lint during the wash. You are also able to view the progress of you wash through a clear plastic section of the lid. There are enough programs to suit the type of wash you need to do as well as enabling you to manually select water levels if you don't want fully automatic selection. The washing machine lid is a cocertina affair but this has not given us any trouble to date. In fact it has the advantage of not having to lift a lid right up.The machine plays a tune when the wash has finished to remind you that it's time to get the clothes out. The lint filter light comes on nearly after every wash but the lint filter isn't necessarily full or even half full. However, you end up checking just incase. The lint filter is all plastic and hinged at one end. I'm not sure how long the plastic hinging will last with constant opening after nearly every wash. I suppose if it does eventually break a replacement should not be too expensive. The washing detergent/powder receptacle is a slide out plastic tray. It is a bit clumbsy in that it can get out of square if you don't pull it out evenly. It also tends to stick on ocassion when it is pulled out unevenly. It seems a bit flimsy but has not broken or cracked after 12mths of solid use.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

SW50USP would be a great machine if it didn't leak water on my new tiles
I would have been really, really happy with this machine ( would have given it 5 starts) if it was not for a known fault - It started leaking water within 6 months and the repairman said it was a known fault - They advised me to only turn the taps only a little bit. I think he replaced the hot water inlet valve, which was inside the machine and he said it was a known fault. I have been really careful with the taps being hardly opened but after only a few months, the machine has started leaking water sometimes. Looks like I will have to get it re...Read more

Overall, what started as a love affair with nano technology, and a sanitising and peek-a-boo windowed washer has become a bitter battle with twisted clothing and a fight with algae. I had actually recommended this machine to my mother and daughter a year or so back. My mother bought a Samsung but not one with nano tech and so far hasn't mentioned any algae problems. My daughter bought a similar looking machine but a different brand (also no nano technology) and hasn't complained about it at all. I could live with some of the cons but not the al...Read more
gae, it defeats the purpose - washing! So, what began as a love affair is ending in divorce, I'm going to find a better model, and brand. I have had the SW80 for roughly two years. I picked it mainly because there was no agitator. My previous machine had one with fins on it and it ruined most of my singlet style tops as the shoulder straps would get stuck and stretch beyond repair. I liked the size, it takes my king size sheets and duvet covers, bulky floor mats and the like. I was unaware of nano technology until I bought this machine and liked the idea. I rarely use it but occasionally have peace of mind when washing particularly dirty towels or stinky socks, using the sanitising or anti bacterial cylce. The see through window on top is a good idea, stops me curiously opening the lid when I can see whats going on. My biggest problem with this machine at the moment, to the point where I want to be rid of it, is the build up of algae that forms every so often. This began happening perhaps a year or so after I bought it. I have found no reason for this nor where it is coming from. It is quite difficult to remove from the clothes let alone the machine. I have run the 'clean machine' cycle to be rid of it but found it does not remove it. Samsung needs to urgently address this problem. The machine is supposedly anti bacterial and sanitising yet here's all this gunk stuck on the clothes and machine with no visible sign of where its coming from. I agree with others about the detergent dispenser, you need two hands to pull it out. It is worrying that it may just snap off some day. Same with the lint filter. When the algae isn't present, the inner drum looks crystal clean but the upper outer part of the drum, not in contact with the clothes or water, is building up with algae or some sort of black residue. I don't find it cleans shirt collars very well and as I have a lot of business shirts to wash its a nightmare untangling all the arms at the end of the wash.1 comment

I would still recommend this machine, but if they could lay off using plastic and use something stronger in the parts that get a lot of use.
Reliable had it for two years now and still keeps going well.
The lint filter is attached with plastic hooks, these have broken off over the two years without me realising, and now it does not attach to the wall of the barrel. This now causes all the lint to just swim around the clothes and they don't come out that clean.

Looks like a good value for money machine, but I paid the extra money for the feature rich and far more solid LG WT-H950.
Price, water efficiency, good set of features.
Flimsy lid and detergent dispensor - overall construction is cheap. No fabric softener dispensor - a must with Perth water.

I do like this machine. I went from a front loader to this. Hated my front loader. I really wanted a machine without the agitator. I think you can fit more in and I think it is more gentle on your clothes. The wash cycle does take around an hour but thats ok as long as you expect it.
