Unfortunately you can’t, it’s just the crap design of a lemon of a heater.

Hi we have just purchased. Saxon Blackwood heater and are deeply disappointed with the fan function. Supposed To only take 20 mins to cut in .well the fire has been going for well over an hour and is burning Quite well but till the fan hasn’t cut in really annoyed any suggestions

The fan turning on & off is controlled by the position of the air-vent as well as the heat of the heat box along with the door. Every time you open the door the fan turns off and restarts the timer. As does the position of the air-vent. I disconnected the fan timer and the heater works better, but is still very ordinary.
Its one of the worst ever purchases I have made.

Where do I find the wiring diagram to override the 20 min fan delay ?

Has anyone else complained about the door handle which is impossible to touch when fire operating at high temperatures and requires a glove to open, I was given a token plastic sleeve when I complained to the local supplier to use over the handle but it disappeared along with my confidence in this product, the manufacturer and the local supplier ?

How do products that require safety standards like an internal wood heater meet the standards for safety in AUS, beats me ?

The product is a shocker. I purchased one & have regretted it ever since.
I have removed the delay timer. A got a copy of the wiring diagram from the supplier. Even without it, it is relatively easy to remove. Just trace the cable honing to the switch & timer. Then disconnect the timer so only the switch remains in circuit.

I have just purchased a Saxon Rosewood wood heater. I'm happy with the heat and fire burn however similar to other writers, the automatic fan function is frustrating and impractical. Can someone please explain how to override the auto fan function?

I have one & disconnected the fan controller. It’s a fairly simple exercise. Just trace the wires that connect the controller in series with the switch & fan itself. Then disconnect the controller so the switch only controls the fan on/off & speed.

Glenn, thanks for your kind words of advice which I really appreciate. To ensure I disconnect the correct wires to the controller, can you please tell me what colour these wires should be?

Hi all,
We purchased the Saxon built in fire last year and it’s been a crazy ride. We’ve had the fire replaced due to a howling sound but it hasn’t changed. Has anyone else’s fire made a harmonic howl noise when it’s lightly windy? Even worse when heavy. If so how did you fix it? We’ve had different Cowls put on and the height adjusted but nothing seems to make a difference. Any help is appreciated

No noise from anything other than the fan which is noisy on ours Raz.
Sounds like an install issue to me that??

Steve
Steve

Mine does same but I put it down to updraught. It’s a natural thing, same as wind blowing through a train tunnel or similar.

Raz
Raz

No it shouldn’t be happening. All of our neighbours have one and theirs doesn’t make the noise at all

Not sure, but I would never ever buy one again. I would also recommend against purchasing one if you haven’t already purchased it

Well we got ours in 1989 and only replace one top plate, so not certain if we are just lucky. What was the problem that you had?

Hi we have a Saxon wood heater. When it’s turned down it still burns with a lot of flame although less flame than when turned up. Heater is 6 years old and previous to this year... flames always reduced more when fire turned down. Do I need to replace a part or clean something out? Chris

Was it windy that particular night. Wind creates more draw and it can burn faster.

Ok thanks. Don’t think it is wind as it has been happening quite often

Technically that’s not really possible!!!
Anyway you should be able to slide the outer, dress portion of the flu ( the bit with all the holes) upward and then correct the inner flu section. Good luck.

same thing has happened to me for the second time, first time I replaced the bottom flue section but I think it now needs a spacer or spot welds to stop it from sliding through
