Got a VERY expensive 5 pc non-stick set for anniversary gift. The non-stick coating came off in huge chunks in some pots, exposing multiple layers. Others it started to bubble and then flake off. We had to throw out food because flakes of non-stick coating were getting in the food. Within 3 months the frypan was so bad we threw it in the bin and replaced with a $20 frypan from Kmart (which is still going perfectly!). The other pots and wok we kept in drawer. Lodged a warranty claim and was told to send them back for a full replacement, however ...
Read moreI ended up in hospital that week and didn't get to return them. Fast forward in time and now that I'm back on my feet I tried to complete the warranty claim again but was refused. They have just been sitting in drawer gathering dust unused. Am told that the 'lifetime' warranty is only 10 yrs, they believe pots are older than that (they have been sitting unused all that time!), and they even had the nerve to say the damage on the wok is because it just needs a scrub! When I enquired about replacing them earlier they had told me it was a faulty batch with the coating and that they were replacing them all, but a different story now apparently. They are going into the bin. I have noticed dept stores always have scanpan at half price. I don't think it's even worth the half price. Don't bother, get another brand. I understand that nothing lasts forever, but I am disappointed with false promises and false warranty guarantees that come at a huge price.
Purchased for $700.
I bought SCANPAN nonstick casserole pot, becomes rusted after approx 3 years of use.
I always washed with non scratch scourer, never put in the dishwasher.
Very disappointed with the product.
The replied from SCANPAN company:
Unfortunately, no manufacturing fault has been found when your pan was being assessed, therefore we can not issue a replacement.
Your pan has been rejected due to carbon being present.
Scanpan Code E1 = Lack of Cleaning. Not Justified
Purchased in for $200.
I have a non stick SCANPAN frypan. I bought it perhaps 3 years ago, my first and only SCANPAN item. Perhaps it worked OK the first 4 times but food sticks all the time. I certainly did not use high heat on it, and have never had it in the diswasher or scratched it. It is a total waste of time and food actually sticks more that in a regular frypan that has no claim to being non stick. I wonder if it would make a novelty feature in the garden. Don't buy a non stick SCANPAN product.
Purchased for $250.

Second one and same thing has happened to pan surface - does not stay intact - don’t buy it as warranty doesn’t cover!! Very disappointed as the product is expensive - warranty poor.
Purchased in at Myer for $350.

Not sure why they have some many bad reviews... maybe the newer non-stick pots, wok & pan are not as good as the older ones?? Mine are probably coming onto 9/10 years now. My initial set did have some flaws - after using them for some time, I notice bits of the non stick surface had like little 'holes' in them. So I called to find out what I could do as they were still under warranty.
Found their warehouse in Balcatta (10mins away from me) where they happily exchanged all my pots & pans for new ones!
Since then, I have not had any issues. O...
Read morek also found out you are not supposed to leave food in these pots/pans and that you can use the green cleaning sponges on them as it is really important to remove all food particles off the surface to ensure the 'non-stick' coating works.Purchased in .

I’ve bought thousands of dollars worth of these classic pans.
They’re re great for a few uses and even using their own cleaning instructions, no high heat and cleaning with soap and water without scrubbing and never been in the dishwasher, the coating still comes off. I’ve sent many back for replacement over the years and it’s more of a bother than anything. They’re very hard to deal with. Don’t bother

Fantastic pans when new but ultimately, they won’t last the rigours of regular use. We bought four of the IQ range pans when upgrading our kitchen three years ago. We cook 5-6 nights a week on these pans and are careful to never use metal on them, clean by hand with hot soapy water and never apply too much heat. Ultimately after 3.5 years these pans are ready for the bin. The 10-year warranty isn’t worth the paper its printed on, and many of the online reviews support this notion. Having spent so much on these pans and treating them with care I...
Read more really wanted to love them. Tho in reality they are far from durable or suited to a busy kitchen. For reference we’ve replaced these pans with Solidteknics skillets & enamel-coated cast iron pots. Requiring a bit more love & TLC to season and maintain, but ultimately a far better product in every sense. In summary, don’t both with Scanpan IQ, buy something cheaper and dispose of it after a few years or invest in a non-toxic coating solution.Purchased in at Kitchen Warehouse for $699.

having purchased in mid 2018 eveything went well for approx 3 months, then slowly started to stick until now usless, allways hand washed never used abrasives to clean only sponge as per instructions, what a waste of time and money, should have just bought another cheap frypan, they last just as long.
Purchased in for $165.
I bought a pricey Scanpan and found the food sticking to the pan. I tried to return it after speaking to someone on the phone-Scanpan kept it for 8 weeks and returned with no note/refused to fix or even clean. Appalling customer service. Would not recommend.

The Titanium coating on my 3 week old tagine wiped off after going through the dishwasher (Woolies brand detergent) even though the Kitchen Warehouse website said it was dishwasher safe. I returned it to Kitchen Warehouse, they gave it to the ScanPan rep, who decided there was nothing wrong with it. I don't believe it's safe to cook in something with a dissolving coating, so I ended up with nothing for my $118. Poor customer service from both companies. Very disappointed.

We had 2 Classic Scanpans one 32cm and one 28cm. We've used it for approx 7 years and had been looking after them quite well means no metal utensils on the pans, no high heat etc. We use gas cooking.
We had a couple of rather small deep scratches on the coatings recently and were pleasantly surprised that the 2 pans have now been replaced by the WHOLESALER after some exchange of information and photographing (all done on the internet and the post office). Of course you need to provide copy your invoice and return your old ones. They also paid...

I bought these pants because they were supposed to be the bees knees when it came to non-stick cooking. Nothing could be further from the truth. Used in accordance with instructions from day one, food sticks during cooking and is hard to remove in the cleaning process. The bottom of the pans scratched my glass cooktop. All in all a waste of money and I wouldn't buy Scanpan again. There are so many exclusions in the warranty it isn't worth the paper it's written on because there is no way one could prove one used and cleaned the pans in accordance with the instructions. Very disappointed!

I really think it's criminal to say there product is so good so they can slug you with a big price but you find out its not as good as they tell it is. The non stick don't last. Please you will regret. You let them scam you, 2× pots & 1x frypan quickly lost the titanium coating.

I have used it for about 8 months and like it so far. I think its does what its suppose to do. Its still a non stick, i wash it in the dishwasher with no problems, however very careful to not use any metal utensils. Its not that expensive, so if it only last for a few years I think its worth it.

Bought a Scanpan Ceramic Titanium in April 2014 and for the first 6 months it was good but then its non stick started to fail. We used the pan only 2 or 3 times a week and in accordance with the instructions but now, a mere two years the pan's non stick is useless and is discolored. At the same time we also bought a Scanpan Wok which is fine but the flypan was a waste of money - a $8.00 plain label from Coles performed better. .

Birthday present, brand new Fry Pan non stick.
The eggs badly stuck to the "non stick surface" and it was first time used even on low heat, followed all instructions.
Spent over £200 on 1 pan which is a lot of money for me, but it was an anniversary present that should have lasted a very long time. Came with a ' lifetime guarantee ' which after 10 years the handle fell off. I was told by scan pan that the ' lifetime guarantee ' was actually a 10 year guarantee and they would not replace my pan. The pan ( apart from the handle ) is excellent. The company are liars.
Scanpan will not replace my pan that I saved up for because photos suggest it’s been used on high heat for cooking. It lost its non stick surface 9 months on and was very well looked after. Not a happy customer. These quality pans should be able to handle heat I would think?

They are fine for a bit, but the stickiness comes off, and on one of our pans, the knob on the lid broke only after a year or two. They sent us a new lid knob under warranty, so good job there, but I would have expected it to have been built better in the first place, especially given the price.

Lasted 6 months and then a large circle no longer non stick, worst customer service for replacement
I have an induction cooktop and was given the 32cm iq for Christmas, after 6 months a large circle radiating from the centre darkened and no longer was non stick. Finally got around in October to filling in a warranty claim and then had to send the pan back to Sheldon & Hammond for assessment. Heard nothing for 3 weeks so rang them and was told "they were very busy and to ring them a week later", I rang again on 30/11 to be told I would be getting a new pan and it would be sent out that day or the next at the latest. It is now a week later and...
Read more I still have not received the replacement. It is now time to complain to consumer affairs, as I started the process of returning the pan under warranty more than 6 weeks ago, and in all that time the only contact from Sheldon and Hammond was to email a warranty claim and when they received that they then told me to return the pan to them. Since then nothing, and my ringing has only resulted in "we are extremely busy". I would never purchase another scanpan on the basis that the distributor is very customer unfriendly, and for over a $100 the pan only lasted 6 months. REPLACEMENT NOW HAS THE SAME PROBLEM AND THEY SAY IT IS CARBON FROM NOT BEING CLEANED,The nonstick coating came off after a year of use and several times through the dishwasher, and they honored the warranty. Thanks Scanpan! However, I won't use the new one in the dishwasher again.

My son spent a whole lot of money on this as a gift to use on the fishburner on my cooktop. Was absolutely fantastic for grilling steaks, chops etc - absolutely loved it. Until the non-stick started to separate from the grill. Took it back to place of purchase to have replaced under warranty and was told that it wasn't covered because the temperature had been too high. I thought the whole idea of these was to get those wonderful looking grill marks on the food, which requires quite a lot of heat - apparently not! Have replaced with a cast iron grill.

I have owned 4 induction non-stick can pans - two went to god after about 2 years, their replacements have lasted the same. I was told you have to clean them very thoroughly after every use to remove micro food deposits even if they look clean and I have done this religiously - I have even stored them all in their original boxes after each use. I and very diligent and a bit OCD so know I have treated these products how they should be. My second set is going into the bin today. I will replace them from something I can get from the myer half...
Read more price sale - it won't be scan pan again. At the start, and for perhaps the first year they did cook pretty well and the non stick worked but slowly the non stick deteriorated and now they are what you might call "stick" pans. After having 4 different pans all do the same thing I realise I have been duped by clever advertising and a high price. In all I have invested nearly $1000 in these pans, so very disappointing. I have also noted that the Scanlan company does not respond to any of the product review posts so that says to me they don't give a toss, we were suckered in by fancy advertising and they got their sale. Don't be pulled in by the lovely looking box the pan comes in with the gold foil trim - the product inside is rubbish, just go buy something adequate and throw it out in a year. Off to do that now. July 10th 2017 Update: Hope - less They work really well when they are new..maybe for 6 months tops..then it's all downhill no matter how hard you clean them or what you do. They are not worth the money. I have had 4 and all have become "stick" on pans after a few years. This is the first Scanpan non-stick I have purchased. The sales assistant assured me they were worth the price because they were absolutely the best.
I was disappointed from the start.
The food sticks and the "non stick" surface is stained and impossible to get clean.
I would not recommend scanpan products to anyone and I will not purchase a Scanpan product again.
This is the most expensive pan I have bought and it is the worst by far. Everything sticks to it from day 1. I have been in contact with scanpan but still waiting for a reply. Just wish I read these reviews before purchasing it. Never again.......
