I have been quoted $130 each for rangehood fans for P52/2 by a Smeg referred contractor. My concern is they also quoted $130 for 2 light assemblies (after charging $110 for a visit) when I change a globe and it works perfectly. Confidence in contractor is not high! Is the quoted price reasonable?

Hi My Smeg Rangehood has stopped working after 5 years of having purchased it . seems like i have the same problem as the other person above . Wanting to know if this will be a ongoing issue with this model and that is why it was discontinued ??
Lights are working .
I have been extremely happy with the Rangehood since buying it as its strong suction and have never had a problem with it since installing it .
Thinking of having it fixed instead of purchasing another one but really dont want to have to get it fixed in another 4 to 5 years down the track if this will be an ongoing problem for this model ?????

Bought this rangehood and it was the most wxpensive between all the others feom bing lee after one year suddenly stopped working only light still working i called smeg and they will charge me for call out fee replacing+ faulty unit++ this rangehood was a mistake to choose ery disappointed my sister had a chinese ole brand still working and it is 70% cheaper i believe this model has a factory problem as i can see from previous reviews i have to check with consumer fair trading regarding this issue.

Found out that ours was a faulty one. Technician had never seen the problem before. Ended up getting a brand new one free.

To remove the globe first you remove lamp cover by turning it anti clockwise then just pull out button globe

All relevant paperwork is located inside the Rangehood.
Please remove the mesh filters from the underside of the Rangehood and you will find all the paperwork inside the motor cavity.
I am Australian Rangehood Installations here in Melbourne. Don't reduce the duct size, make sure it is ducted outside or it is a waste of time putting one in.

You might be able to get this unit repaired through our service department. It depends on how long you've had the unit as to whether or not you should replace the entire rangehood. If your rangehood is 5-10 years old and been used quite a lot, then it might be more feasible to purchase a new model. Otherwise contact our Service Department on (02)8667 4833 for further advice and price estimate.
