Extremely Poor Customer Service
In December 2022 my wife and I paid for a new shed and materials to build a dog kennel. When we placed our order the salesperson said that he would draw the plans for our dog kennel that we wanted to build. It was because of this promise that we purchased and paid for our order in full. told my wife that Stratco head office had told him not to draw the plans as it was not part of the service. Whether it is part of the service or not is irrelevant. What is relevant is that the promise of the plans formed part of the sale and was the main deciding factor. Stratco head office have continued to ignore my complaint. Furthermore, when the materials were delivered for our dog kennel, it would appear that the gate that has been supplied is not as ordered. I have emailed a photo to Stratco of what has been sent as a gate to query the matter. It would appear there is no frame and no hinges. Still no response! Time to make another telephone call to try and get some answers. From there, I will decide whether to take legal action or write more reviews on other websites!3 comments

at, on further inspection we have been supplied with 2 different size posts with different shades of grey and 2 different colours of panelling. Now to wait and see if Stratco wishes to offer a full reimbursement, to pay someone to come and rectify the situation or prefer that I commence legal proceedings.

Quality materials for well finished, long lasting product.
Very helpful in store and provided good suggestions. You can see the quality in the materials just like my double garage which is nearly 20 years old and still looks great

extremely difficult to deal with - would never use again
We ordered a clear span gable with attached pergola kit which was delivered by a very helpful delivery man on time, although no inventory of parts was provided. That is the only good thing I can say about the whole experience. The initial ordering experience should have warned us. The guy we dealt with (Damien) kept getting the design wrong - he couldn't work out the difference between length and width. on. However, because we didn't have a standard design the "installation" videos and written material weren't helpful. The brackets and fittings we were given weren't even shown on the video or any of the printed material so it was hard to see how they were supposed to go together. Phone calls to both the head office and to the store were useless as no one ever returned a phone call, and the store seems to have a very high staff turnover so the person we dealt with last time is not there the next time. We did get to speak to the so called "expert" at one stage who gave us completely the wrong info about how the brackets were supposed to work and what measurements they had used, which made the whole thing even more confusing. The brackets provided seem so small and flimsy we could not believe that was how they were supposed to work. We did not at any stage receive detailed drawings with measurements - they only the overall measurements which did not always match the measurements of the materials we actually had. Finally after several return visits to the store which did not make anything any clearer, we got to speak to Kyle who was very helpful. However, there is an interactive video which if we had a copy of, would allow us to see the design in detail, turn it around etc. Damien offered to send it but didn't, and Kyle has tried to email it to us but the Stratco system apparently won't allow it to send. Head Office denies that such a program even exists, although we have looked at it in store. No one at Head Office is ever available to talk, and so far have failed to return 4 phone calls - we still haven't completed the build.

Excellent service
The ferntree gully store was a pleasure to deal with, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about the order I placed to do with my pool fence. The order was placed and I was phoned to let me know it was ready. Excellent service.

very helpful staff
Fern Tree Gully staff very helpful filling my beam and guttering orders. Delivery driver very good. however the store the materials came from did not send my order on time in fact it was weeks overdue with no notification.FTG eventually sorted it out.

Product querry
Bought double gates, posts all that comes with them to hang swinging outwards the 4 fixing holes on the butt hinges that came with them do not line up with the 25mm metal tubing only the 2 middle holes per hinge can be fixed to the frame. If i was to hang the gates to swing inwards it would not be a problem but in need them to swing outwards, (hinges being 100x75) as stratco did not have the next size up i had to buy 4 100x100 hinges elsewhere which a little thicker and drill two extra holes per hinge to line up with the 2 middle ones (on hing...Read more
es)so as to have four fixing points per hinge on the gate. I could have drilled extra holes in the hinges provided but i felt they were a bit thin. Gates are or should be designed/built to swing either way which would mean the tubular framing should either go right across the hanging ends or get hinges made with the four holes lined up properly so your gates can be hung to swing either way or make changes to the steel frame to suit your supplied hinges. p.s.
