Could you please tell me the expected life of the battery, in years? Would probably iron a full basket of washing per week.

When I press the steam button under the handle, there doesnt appear to be much steam although this maybe
a fine steam as someone has already mentioned. However, when pressing this button, there is a quiet almost
'rachet' noise from the iron. Is this normal? Thanks in response.

You have to press the steam button underneath the handle as well as the one on top. This will turn produce a big strong jet of steam. The ratchet noise I not sure of.

My iron is only flashing orange lights, I have pressed the grey button which normally turns the green light on, however it remains flashing orange and does not hear. If I press the button a few times it may flash green for less than a second before going back to orange. The iron is only a few years old. Any help?

I have a blinking amber light an no heat. What's up with that? Is there a fix?

The blinking amber light means that you have left the iron too long without using it and it has "timed off". (A safety feature in case you leave the iron and forget about it.) All you have to do is press the grey restart button for a couple of seconds (underneath the flashing amber light on the base). It should then start flashing green and will need to warm up again before you use the iron.

Is there an orange/red flashing light (AutoOff) at the back of the base charging unit? If so, then press the black reset button underneath the flashing light. The orange light should go off and a green flashing light should come on to the left. Once this light goes solid green (stops flashing) then your iron should be hot enough to use.

Or is your iron sitting properly on the charging unit? Check that it is pushed in to the charging base so that the light flashes green.

When my Tefal Free Move FV9965 Cordless iron is completely cold and I put it on the maximum heat/steam setting, it only takes 1 minute on the charger base to get ready to iron. When the green light stops flashing and stays green, that is when the iron is ready. When the iron light flashes red, you must place it back on the base charger until the light turns a constant green again. For me this only takes 3 seconds, which is about the time it takes me to rearrange the garment on my ironing board.

Ok thank you same as my one it mean nothing wrong with it.

Hi Fun L - As Rhonda said, it doesn't take long for the iron to heat up when it is first turned on, and only takes 2 or 3 seconds to recharge. I find that I still have about 5 seconds of ironing time when the beep sounds - there's still plenty of heat and steam. I reckon you get about 30 seconds ironing time from one charge, and the beep sounds after 25 seconds or so. Hope this is useful...

I've just tried to use my new Tefal Freemove 9965 & have had it plugged in for over an hour & it still hasn't heated up at all. The light is flashing, but no heat. What's wrong?

have you turned the dial to a chosen temp or clothing??

Susan

You need to set it to the Maximum level (where the sign shows and don't forget to fill up the water) and let it sit in the cradle until the light is green. Remove it from the cradle and start ironing. If it is still not hot enough then you need to check the FAQ on Tefal website.
Good luck!

Hello Andi! Thank you for your question. Has the green light on the base stopped flashing to indicate the machine is ready to use? It sounds very unusual that it wouldn't have heated up after that long period of time. The machine is covered under a 2 year replacement guarantee. If you are still having no luck with the unit heating up please take it back to the place of purchase with your receipt and they will be able to swap the unit over for you.
Thank you –

The steam doesn't seem to work, on the settings full steam selection very light steam comes out. Any help?

Let the iron heat up and the steam will work. It only appears to look like it's not. I always hold on to the catch to let the steam out everytime I use the iron. I thought at one point the steam was not working. Found it the hard way by hurting my hands a bit (was fine of course).
Hold it down and press steam after you let the iron heat up.
Trust that helps!

I always depress and hold the "steam on demand" button (under the handle) the whole time that I'm ironing if I want lots of steam. Ensure that you have filled the water tank to maximum before you switch the iron on. Always make sure that the green indicator light stops flashing, otherwise the iron is not hot enough. I found that it takes exactly one minute for my iron to heat up to maximum temperature from cold. And after the iron has been used, it takes 3 seconds to heat up again once I place it on the charger base. I hope that information is useful.

Do you need to replace this iron to the cradle during ironing or can you charge it and then iron for 1/2 hour or something similar?

Yes iron goes back into cradle during ironing. This works well as you put the iron down naturally as you rearrange the item being ironed.

Rhonda

Yes you can only iron up to 30 seconds at a time before the light flashes red and beeps to tell you to put it back on the cradle/charger. I just naturally place it back on the charger each time as I rearrange my garment (instead of standing my iron on the ironing board like my old corded iron - note that you can't stand this iron up). It only takes 3 seconds to re-heat (the green light stops flashing to tell you it is ready to iron again). It won't stay charged any longer by leaving it on for 1/2 an hour etc. as it is not designed that way. I find it very quick to use if I just place it back on the charger each time I rearrange the clothes. (Note also that it only takes 1 minute for the iron to get hot enough/charged enough to use from a cold start).
