Hi Frans, Thanks for your enquiry. So you are aware, pressure valves do not prevent delamination, as this is a side effect of the foam core literally melting. Boards that have a valve installed (such as a goretex valve) can still delaminate and either contract like a raisin as the air releases from the valve or if exposed to higher temperatures expand as the valve can only release a certain amount of air per minute (in cases where boards are left in cars this is typically the case). We run valves in all boards above 9ft but this is not to prevent heat damage.

Hi Tim, We have mixed reviews on multiple platforms but overall have rankings in the 4+ stars. So you are aware our operating system sends out review requests for varying platforms to our customers on a daily basis and we have the opportunity to select which platform we want to focus our reviews on. More often than not our focus is on our own website directly.

Other than that, we do not influence reviews in any way shape or form and don't have the ability too. If you look into Product Reviews review system they have created very strict guidelines where they request receipts to validate review authenticity among other things.

I think you will find with any company of our size, they will have mixed reviews on both sides. You get the 1 star reviews were people are not happy with their product from damage caused in a wipe out or what not, 5 star from repeat customers and the rest mostly in the middle depending on their experience with our customer service staff. We take our customers seriously and aim to give the best service the surf industry has ever seen and it pays dividends. If you can name a surf shop that will answer a call any day of the week between 7am and 7pm I'd like to hear about it as I think we stand apart from the rest.

I will finish by simply stating that, like your question, some peoples intentions on review platforms is merely to tarnish a brand and we wish those people all the luck in the world as negativity will get you know where in life. We have thousands of reviews over the internet, both good and bad and we are not in the least bit worried about a handful of unhappy customers when we serve over 30,000 happy customers yearly.

Hey Gwynne, Surfing close outs is always going to be a little problematic especially with foam boards that aren't reinforced with any fiberglass. We currently have a few prototype boards we are working on that are fiberglass shortboards and funboards where they are then wrapped in an EVA foam skin to offer a more durable product than a standard softboard but still maintaining the safety aspect. At present I do not have a definitive date for release but if you are willing to hold out a few months you can sign up to our newsletter and they will send out a "new release" email for new models, so you will know as soon as they have dropped.

Hi Sarah and Nathan,

I would look at starting on a Mini Mal, as the board will be nice and wide and super stable, long enough to make paddling easy and can be used in a variety of surf conditions. A Mini Mal is a very versatile shape, super forgiving and will help you both progress quickly. I would suggest a 7ft or 7'2 for Sarah and a 7'6 for Nathan based on your weight and heights.

If you are looking to travel around Australia and will be transporting your board a lot, I would suggest purchasing a Polyurethane (PU) board, as they are less susceptible to damage whilst travelling (heat, easier to repair on the go etc etc). The AQSS Devocean is an awesome beginner model in PU, it has a 2+1 fin setup which will allow you to modify the fin configuration to accommodate for your style and skill level, I don't think you can really go wrong with this board model.

In relation to how it surfs. Personally, I find the Bam Bam to be extremely loose and skatey and "wants to turn". Although it is a wide board (and therefore stable), the board is very maneuverable. The only downside to the smaller shapes like the Bam Bam is the fact that they "snake" more through the water and do not glide along the surface like the larger boards. As you can imagine, every board has its pros and cons.
