I had a jeenee account with 3 phones. 2 of those phones were not allowed excess data charges. I didn't ask to be changed to vaya and i certainly did not turn this feature back on. So these excess charges should not be turned back on for these 2 phones. $22 for 18gb i don't want to pay 1 cent more than that... Can we get a work around for this, or do i need to contact the ombudsman to sort this out. And don't say $40 per gb over if i turn it off.... Don't let my data go over, is it that hard to do

Does Vaya allow forwarding SMS to email? When I go overseas I would sometimes need to do online banking, and certain transactions need to be confirmed by code sent via SMS. I understand that roaming is no longer available to new customers, so if it can forward SMS to email I don't see any issues with switching to Vaya.

I forward work SMS to my work email regularly. I dont know if this works overseas, but it works for me in Brisbane.
Thanks for the reply. Can you receive the SMS in your email when you have your phone switched off? If you can't then it must have been forwarded by the phone, not the carrier. So it won't work overseas...

Hi, I have been switched to Vaya from Jeenee and had an email saying old password would work but it won't work on App and can't get login page to load? Help please, regards Dave.
Don't worry I got it sorted, I think the page was being blocked by a privacy app in firefox, managed to reset the password and can now login to app, cheers Dave.

they would have sent you a text with your new account number. Use this instead of phone number then try logging in with your password. If it still doesn't work use new log in and request new password

I'm with Live Connected and I believe we now go through Vaya for any questions regarding phone. I have a $15 month charge but for some reason now (within the last couple of days I can't seem to make phone calls). I tried to phone my husband and it said calls to this number are banned, so I tried another number (my son) and same thing. What is going on? All outdoing calls have been barred!!! My payments are still coming out as direct debit and I haven't changed anything to my knowledge. Can you please let me know what is happening?

Hey Leonie, so sorry you are having this problem. We'd like to look into this for you so please feel free to send us an email at [email protected] or you can catch us via our Facebook page where our team is ready to assist you.
I’m presuming you have read my email and know my problem with all calls barred. I believe it may have occurred the same day I did a large transfer payment with my bank of money out of my debit card when your phone payment went through at the same time - this is the only reason I can think of as I was at my daily limit to deduct from my account. If the direct debit went through on same day your payment may have been rejected? I find this confusing as I believe my phone account would be in credit of $20 or more for the month as you can’t be in arrears on your account if I read your T & C correctly. Why wouldn’t someone from Live Connected/Vaya have texted me before they totally ban my calls for an explanation? If this is the case do I just go on line again and make a payment? I’m hoping there are no extra monies I have to pay. Can you look into it and let me know ASAP please.
It is now 2nd December and haven't had a response from anyone regarding the above note. Can someone please let me know what is happening. The above response was sent on the 28 May.

I recently changed mobile carriers and on inserting the sim into my phone, the system shows No Card/No Service. The mobile carrier has confirmed that my phone has been successfully connected however, I am unable to make or receive any calls. My phone is an LG P716 which I have had for 4 years. It uses a standard size sim and the new sim I received fits perfectly in the slot. The old sim from my former provider has been used without any problem for about 18 years. Any suggestions as to why this is happening?

Contact them (Vaya Support 1300 008 292), calling them is the easiest way to get it solved, since the options in their portal do not work sometimes.

Do you get charged roaming rates over and above your normal vaya plan amount?
2 answers
Yes, you do. That's standard for every telco I am aware of. It's increasingly common to find phone plans with international minutes included - at prices from as low as $30 per month - these days. However, that's for calls made while you're in Australia to overseas numbers. Roaming is when you're overseas and you need to call another country - probably Australia for us. Vaya do charge extra for that service. You might like to consider Vodafone for affordable roaming rates. I advised afriend to get a Vodafone SIM, even one for just a couple of weeks ( get a month to month SIM Only agreement with Vodafone ) they have about the best roaming fees - with a flat per day charge (I think it's $5 per day). Optus and Telstra have similar schemes. I am not aware of an MVNO ( Vaya is an MVNO ) which has that scheme.
Thanks

Is it fair to pay $10=1GB for excess and end up using 36mb of it at the end?
3 answers
Vaya Customer: They can (as a goodwill gesture) reverse the $10 charged for the 1GB excess data "bolt-on" if you happen to use a small portion (i.e. less than 50MB) of it.
Vaya customer service openly shared the details of this cut-off with me – it must be in effect a policy of theirs. So, in the future, if I ever again exceed my plan's data allowance, as long as I only use less than 50MB out of the 1GB, I can request reversal of the $10 cost of the data bolt-on (which is by default added to your account). Request this via the chat function in the app or on the website.
It is possible to ask Vaya to disable the 1GB bolt-on from being automatically charged after exceeding your plan's data allowance, however you'll end up paying the standard data rate of 4¢/MB which effectively works out to $40/GB so it's a foregone conclusion as far as I'm concerned – I've left it active on my account.
More info regarding reversals and refunds in my review of Vaya posted on this site on 30 May 2017 at </r/vaya/1334737.html>.
I have already switched to another provider. 10gb + free Spotify streaming. This is how I see it. I spent extra 10 to get rid of vaya.
Same with Optus, charging $10 for the next 1GB, even we only use 1bit (smallest data unit). I don't think this is fair, as we cannot use the exact full quota we have for that month.
Our phone's data limit feature can't be as accurate as theirs.
Fairly, they must put 'data limit' on their system to limit the quota, then ask the customers if they want to go another 1GB for $10.

Vaya charged my debit card for 6 months after I requested them to discontinue. Then when I cut the card at the bank they threatened to send $22 to a collection agent. How does that work on when there is "NO CONTRACT" ? Intimidation ? Calling a lawyer to determine if I have a case/claim to sue for intimidation ?
2 answers
That's awful, dodgy system. I had same experience with youi insurance, they charged my expired credit card for 2 years after home insurance policy cancellation.
I went to ombudsman website, and they should have vaya dispute contact no. Hope this would help.
As soon as I threatened Ombudsman and Legal action, I quickly got a very apologetic letter from them saying they would immediately cancel my "service" and waive any outstanding charges. I think they ran it by their legal team and got the determination they were acting criminally and if the customer was not intimidated by the threats of legal action for a "alleged debt" with "no contract", they may find themselves up **** creek without a paddle. so they kept the $120 they had already fraudulently collected a went the **** away

If I change from Telstra does Vaya do the cancellation and number transfer??
3 answers
Yes same as any other carrier if technically possible. I had my number ported this way.
Yeah, pretty standard amongst all carriers.
If possible they will port it.
if you want your number ported over I think you need to leave your number active with your current company. Then when you get your sim you can start the number porting request. After the port request is completed your service with telstra should be cancel. I change mobile company very often and I've been warn that if I cancel my account with my previous company my number won't be ported over.
I also previously encounter an issue where my mobile company won't let the porting proceed because I need to send an email telling them that I want to leave (I forgot about the condition that I must give them 1 month written notice). I haven't had to do this anymore. But to make sure I won't lose the number I've had since 2002 I now make sure I apply for an account 1 month before my previous companies account due date and I make sure I get the porting request started 2 weeks before. Just so that if any issue occur I will know asap.

How many others have experienced multiple difficulties getting Vaya to port mobile numbers? For me it has now been 7 days since I activated the Vaya SIM - and still nothing!!!!!
1 answer
Mine took three days to port from Vodafone, activated on a Friday and it was ported on the Sunday. It might be worth using the live chat to find out where its at, or ask your current provider.
