Vicks VapoRub
Awful
I bought a new jar of Vicks vaporub. It is pathetic. It has very little smell and does not have the strength of the old formula.
Very disappointing and looking at the majority of of others reviews I'm not alone.
Heed the saying, if it's not broke don't try to fix it!

Oh Vicks what have you done?
I bought a jar to use for steam inhalation but I find the smell of it sickening. What a waste of money! The old formula was a wonderful product and definitely provided congestion relief. I do not recommend this product.

Rubbish, what has happened to this product.
Did not do a thing, doesn't smell at all like it used to. Very disappointing. If there was a minus 10 that is what I would have given. Will never purchase again.

Was my go-to for colds NOT NOW!
I used to slather VICKS on my feet and pop some socks on. I’d also sit and sniff the jar to clear my head and stop a cough. The new VICKS is no better than petroleum jelly-waste of time! Someone needs to manufacture a jar of ‘back to VICKS’!

NOT THE SAME!!
These days now is not to cure people anymore! All medicines products that used to help you does not work anymore! Depopulation! Todays products are just Rubbish!! Grew up using Vicks VapoRub but this is no longer a good product! Never purchasing this and anything affiliated with this company. Just a reminder, Romans 12:19 Vengeance is Mine. Lol

Rip off new product does nothing
This new product whatever it is does nothing.
I say whatever it is because it certainly isn’t even remotely similar to real Vicks vapor rub.
The company should be ashamed.
Seriously this product is useless now . It used to be good

Disappointed
As soon as opened the jar I knw it wasn't the same, had no smell. Rubbed it on my chest and made no difference. Will not buy it again. Bring back the old formula

Complete fail. Does not work nearly as good as it used to
This was always my go-to cold savior. It not longer has the same smell or chest soothing properties. The smell used to waft up from your chest, clearing your nasal passages. It no longer does that either. I'm completely disappointed.

A once good product now next to useless.
As a 68 year old who has used Vicks 'Vaporub' all his life starting from when my mother used to use it on me and my brother when we were kids and me and my wife using it on mine, this product has suffered what seems to called 'Shrinkflation'. Unfortunately, it seems to be a common practice over the last 20 years. Reducing the more expensive components or changing the size while charging the same or MORE for the product. Vapo Rub is now not much better than straight petroleum jelly.

Whomever changed the formula is destroying your customer base. Does new Coke ring a bell.
Both my daughter and I independently purchased Vicks Vapo Rub as I always refer to it as. I've used it since I was a young kid. I opened it and thought I had Covid (lost my sense of smell) . Luckily I had an old jar with a little left in it. I opened it and could smell that wonderful, nasal clearing smell. The new product seems to have no smell at all. I guess you can use it to lube a bicycle chain instead of vasiline. Ironically, a few weeks later my daughter called to warn me not to buy Vicks as they changed it. She know how I've always had Vicks in the house for my family. I told her thanks but it was too late. I had already purchased the last jar I'll ever buy.
Formula change
Just bought a jar of vicks and very disappointed. It doesn't smell like the old vicks I use to buy. And thought it was quite expensive at 5.98 for a 1.76 oz jar. Where's the old formula?

Vicks please bring back your original formula.
I just bought a bottle of Vicks vapor rub, how disappointing. This product has changed and not for the better it is very weak compared to the original formula . I have used off brands that were more effective.

Vicks VaproRub
this new stuff is terrible. I guess they changed the formula from the original was so they could manufacture it more cheaply and make more money for the big wigs.

If it ain’t broke why fix it?
Just bought a new jar of Vicks Vapour Rub. What the heck have Vicks done to it? More petroleum jelly, less menthol, less eucalyptus. It does nothing and the smell is horrible. You have lost customers because of your cheap skating. Or is that what you want to happen? Shame!

Worthless. I want my old Vaporub back!
This just doesn’t work. No vapor, warmth or clearing of blocked nasal passages. Totally disappointed. It doesn’t do what it was used to do. Used to love this product but I won’t purchase it again.

Questions & Answers
Recently purchased vicks vapor rub (way pricey) and found that it is very weak and does not do what it did in the past. Is there any way to get the real thing?
Same here, I have not used for decades, bought some to help with a cold and knew immediately they had changed the formula . The product is now rubbish and was very unpleasant when used as an inhalent. Won't be buying again !!
My friend rubbed Vick’s on my neck saying it was good for muscles. The next day I went in a jacuzzi and now my neck is so red like it has a chemical burn! I asked a pharmacist and she said the menthol in the Vick’s along with heat could cause this????
I just found out about this. Apparenlty in 1983 the US Food and drug administration decided that Vicks had too much Camphor (11%) so now it contains 4.8%. That's why it doesn't smell the same and obviously doesn't do the same job as it used to.
It is not like people eat the stuff. It is to help people breathe!
Some ppl do eat it.
Why was the original "Vicks" formula changed...This stuff I just bought smells like dead/dying funeral flowers. Will never buy again. Worthless noneffective goop.
