False/Misleading Advertising
I recently made a pre-order for far cry 3 (pc) from videoezy because they had a decent price. The release date for this game was 29th november. As the date arrived and i had not received a shipping notice, i checked their website and they had the incorrect date of 30th november. I immediately contacted them about this using their facebook page as you generally get a better response from there these days. They did respond quickly and provided an email link i could use.
I sent an email to this address and made my enquiry. I mentioned my order ...Read more
number in both the subject line and the body of the email, clearly explaining the problem and how i would like it remedied. This was at approximately 7am on thursday 29th november. They didn't reply until around 8:35pm that day and asked me to provide my order number or my username for the order. They said in their email that the order number is a 7 digit number, however on my tax invoice from them and on the website (i double checked), the order number is the same 4 digit number i included in my message to them. Also, the email address i used to send the message to them was the same as my username on their website. (delaying tactics here). So i responded almost immediately to them indicating the above (that i've already provided that information) and have yet to hear from them over 14 hours later. This i go to check the order, since it's the 30th today and it still says that the product is "not yet released". I contacted the facebook people again, and also included the info about the email, and they said they would escalate the problem for me. Still haven't heard from the email team. So i checked the world clock times and the minute that it went the 30th in england, the product was now released on their website.. However when i went to check my order, it says that my item is on "back order". So they have sold me something they didn't even have in stock nor would have in stock on the day it was meant to be shipped. Think i am the only one? My work colleague ordered a product a few days after me.. Not a pre-order.. But a game they advertised as being in stock.. Yet when it was checked on a few days later, after receiving no notification on shipping, it said "back order".. He is still waiting for this item to be shipped. Avoid this company like the plague.. Not just terrible service.. But questionable, unethical and possible illegally operating processes. I sent an email to this address and made my enquiry. I mentioned my order number in both the subject line and the body of the email, clearly explaining the problem and how I would like it remedied. Charged for faulty DVD
There are some arrogant and rude managers of stores who will treat you like a criminal if you complain of faulty disks you get. Some will even accuse you and bill you for a replacement, even if the rental was faulty when you rented it ! They think it works out cheaper to treat customers this way, I won't use them again !
poor customer relations

Unethical Experience
My experience with this business operator has been disconcerting and unprincipled. I have been a local member of Video Ezy Tumbi Umbi for just under 12 years, and have received no customer loyalty recognition or notification by this company on any occasion of an overdue account. On every visit to Video Ezy if there was an outstanding balance for movies returned late this would be reconciled upon departing the store. In August last year I relocated to Queensland to look after a family member and have returned recently to reside again on the Cent...Read more
ral Coast- where this video ezy is still my local video provider. I received a text message on my mobile phone last week that stated accurately - 'Hi____, Ref # _____, Pls refer to letters sent & call us on ____ so we can come to a resolution. Entertainment Recoveries.' On contacting this company they advised me that they were a debt collection agency & had sent 4 letters to my old address and an accumulated balance of $90.40 was pending on my Video Ezy account. Video Ezy will send a text message to it's customers to notify them of an overdue movie, however will not contact their customers via a text message to alert them of an outstanding account prior to sending your details to a debt collection agency, where each letter sent by them accumulates a total of $15.00 per letter. I am a local business operator of a Hotel on the Central Coast, and this kind of business is immoral and extremely unprofessional. I have heard similar experiences from a number of disheartened honest customers of Video Ezy stores, who have every intention of paying overdue accounts but are not alerted of any unsettled balances. My original account with this Video Ezy store was for a total of $30.40- which is a low overdue fee for a reliable customer. I feel the need to caution other customers of my experience and will be advising against business to this provider to all patrons of my Hotel as well as friends and family who will no longer give this operator business. I also strongly suggest amending Video Ezy policies to provide a better service to your customers. As a business woman my upmost precedence is the quality of our guest experience and customer satisfaction of our product and services, this would be a great principle to implement in the business operations of your company. unprofessional service, a disconcerting business.Similar opinion? Good variety of films for hire
They are one of the bigger video chains. What I like is that they often release coupons in the mail or on the back of your shopping dockets, so you can often pick up 2 for the price of one. I don't often hire a movie if I don't have a coupon because i have found them to be a little expensive. Sometimes they also do not have enough copies of popular new release movies, which can be a let down.
Beware of late fees and once I was stung with a fee for being 2 hours late on returning a dvd. In my opinion this was a little unfair.
Can get discount coupons
Strict with their late fees

I have been a member of Video EZY for approximately 5 years (the decision to sign up with V/E was loosely based on the (now former) Movieland franchise closing down near my home), and in that time I have purchased/hired various titles (both shrink wrapped sealed and ex-rentals) with zero fuss, and the prices/rental rates of each were fair for the time with special deals going. These days I'm not big on movie rental, but when I do hire something, I view it, return it in the time frame, no problems. I have never hired or bought games from them, a...Read more
s I am not a gamer, so I cannot comment on that aspect. They usually offer good customer service too - quick and easy - recommended! If they don't have a particular title in stock or for hire, they can perhaps order it for you or they can tell you when it will become available for hire. They have never disappointed me. I will be visiting V/E one day soon (maybe near Christmas this year, who knows...) A wide range of DVD and Blu-Ray titles, from overnighters to 2 day-ers to weeklys; rental or buy. I don't go for their games much, but I am sure they offer a reasonable assortment of those at fair prices. No official dislikes that I can think of, seeing as my local store has always been good with me and I have NEVER been overdue with anything hired from there. As far as I know, the membership/joining up is still free.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

OK
I was stung with an overdue fee for being a little late returning a dvd, i think it was about an hour and a half or similiar. I thought it was a little unfair, but anyway. My local store (civic video) are much more lenient and wasnt used to this treatment. I rarely go to Video Ezy as i prefer to support civic video.
They are bigger and often release coupons in the mail or on the back of your woolies/coles docket (shopper docket). You can often pick up 2 for the price of one etc
Without a coupon/ voucher i have found them to be a little expensive. Sometimes they do not have enough copies of popular new release movies as you think they should

I do really enjoy the offer that video ezy have which is rent it now or rent it free. They also have great deals on ex rentals which they sell for a lot cheaper then the retail price. I have found the staff to be really helpful and friendly. They also check each disc before they give it to you.
If the new release you want is not there then next time you rent it free. Good offers and quite a few locations.
The snack food in there is very expensive and they dont always have that much of a range on offer compared to other competitors.

great place to rent and buy dvds and games having a wide selection to choose from however they always seem to have be waiting for a return for the movie you want. i like there policy on there new movise that if they dont have it you can rent it free. but it would be great if it was offered to more titles at one time that way they would get more of each movie.
great price dvd and game rentals, you always get a voucher when you purchase somthing.
although they have a great range they seem to never get enough rental copies

I am satisfied with the range of products for rental and the service that I receive from the staff, I have never had an issue with using Video Ezy. I like how when you rent or purchase an item from the store that you receive a discount voucher to use for your next visit on the receipt, which offers some great deals.
Video Ezy has a good range of DVD titles and also games for wii, x box and playstation.
The rental price can be expensive for new releases and it you happen to have a late fine that can be costly too.

Terrible
Every dvd i have hired from VIDEO EZY at Chancellor park has been scratched so a month after continuosly hiring faulty dvd's i decided to ask to return them for something else (as their policy states you can do). I was turned away from the store after the sales girl accused me of being a liar directly to my face. I also have a friend that was customer at the store and he was hit with a $300 bill for damaging a dvd which they could not prove or name. He was banned from the store without any proof, however he was out of town and had plane tickets...Read more
to prove so at the time that the mysterious dvd was damaged. A mate of his that was on his Volleyball team (who i will not name) works at a different video ezy store and explained to my friend that it is cheaper for the store to blame damage on a customer that has previously hired the movie (whether they were the last or the 100th last person to hire that particular dvd) that to replace them. They pinpoint anyone that the feel like with no proof at all that it was in fact them that damaged the movie. I urge you all to research VIDEO EZY before becoming a member. I'm certain you will find thousands of accounts on the internet where this or something similar has happened to someone that was a member. EVERYTHING!Similar opinion? Video Eazy is my closest video store and I can't complain because hiring out DVDs from the store is pretty cheap. The stores often have special discount nights earlier in the week where you can hire a new release DVD for as little as $1. While I do not always encounter friendly staff, most of the time you do and I have often been told by a staff member not to hire a certain DVD because it was no good. There is always a good selection of new releases and weekly DVDs, and it is easy to get around the stores.
Cheap hiring fees, lots of selection and always have a lot of the latest DVDs.

I rarely visit videos stores anymore but it's good to know that Video Ezy still exists in the moments where i feel like watching a dvd that i don't have. Video Ezy offer a great selection of titles and also games. I have found the staff to be extremely helpful when needed. Sometimes you can also purchase dvds from the store and in some ocassion it can be cheaper than at a regular store.
Good range of movies, tv shows and games, friendly staff
Some new release dvds can be expensive on weekends. Expensive late return fees can apply

I enjoy watching DVD's with the family and Video Ezy (South Lake) has a wide range with timely new releases and the girls are always friendly and have nice things to say. The shop is always well organised, well lit and clean. I was previously a member of a different video store (not video ezy) and had a few dramas with them being disorganised (ie saying we hadn't returned videos which we had), but I've never had this problem with Video Ezy.
Wide range, staff always friendly, convenient location, good deals
Would like to see more of the old classic movies available in store.

the video store has great service and teh staff go through hell and back just to help you out and find a dvd you are after. they have a great info section on what is the top 10 movies and the movies that are coming soon which are very convienient. i go there a few times a month and never had a problem with them. top business!
i have been with video ezy for ages and never had an issue with them at all. i use the one at ascot park in SA and i must say they are a very organised business with plenty of titles to choose from. they have classica and the ;atest movies. all the latest movies.
the only issues i have with the store is that my favourite movies and most anticipated new releases are usually hard to hire because they are all hired out.
