Dogs breakfast
No resemblance of the airline it was a few years ago. Unprofessional, rude, uncourteous staff, with check in & bag drop systems so temperamental, that it doubles the time in queue that it used to with a staffed process. My in flight meal pretty much sums up the Virgin experience today and that of a previous flight a few days ago.

Do not Fly Virgin!
I paid a lot extra for an exit row seat and I find out the seat was broken and would not recline so during my LA to Sydney flight (aprox 15 hours) I was extremely uncomfortable and did not sleep. There were no other seats available and the flight attendant confirmed the seat was not working and would take note of it. When I got back to Sydney and complained to Virgin they denied the seat was broken and said there was nothing they could do. I will never fly Virgin again!

Always good to me
I usually fly Virgin and always find their sale fares good value for money. Service is usually great. I really appreciated their compassion when my travel plans were affected by the November 2022 bushfires in NSW. I wont be changing airlines. Thank you Virgin Australia.

DISAPPOINTING FLIGHTS
We have always been happy with Virgin but not this time. Last Friday we flew to Perth. My husband's TV had a picture but no sound. On the return flight his TV wasn't working at all. On asking the stewardess about it she told us that the engineer knew about it. Well, Mr Engineer fix it. We then asked could we be moved - no the flight is full. No apology, no compensation offered. Basically just a stiff crap attitude. A lady seated not far from us asked for headphones before takeoff. 45 minutes into the flight my husband gave her his - well they weren't much use to him. After this flight I think we might give Qantas another try

Ripping customers off !!!
My son broke his leg and we had to change a flights because he could not fly. We were happy to pay some fees but Virgin refused to waive any fees. We had return flights with Jet star who waived $100 per person which came to $400 and we did not even ask them for any discounts.

Gold Coast Trip
Had a flight from Adelaide to the Gold Coast and Gold Coast to Adelaide in August/September 2022. Booking was simple and flights were great. Great Staff. Would fly with Virgin again. Thank you.

Excellent service

They make Jetstar look third rate
Virgin are not petty and pedantic about hand luggage like bogan star...this airline is my choice over the inferior second choice...i will never fly bogan star again...my hand luggage fit under the seat but oh my god i was 2 kgs over...the sky would fall in...Virgin let me through with the same hand luggage no problem

Will never fly virgin again
Firstly we got an email 2 days before we were scheduled to fly home to say that our flight direct from LA > Brisbane had been cancelled and we were put on a flight departing over 24 hours later and taking us via Melbourne, thus making our travel time 8 hours longer than we initially planned. I called virgin to ask if we could be put on a direct flight and the customer service rep on the phone was not helpful at all, frankly didnt care and told us we would have to go to the airport to get anything sorted. ort where we spent 2 hours trying to get virgin employees to book us a hotel for the extra night we had to stay in LA. Employees behind the counter were joking and making faces at each other the whole time, never apologised for the inconvenience, continually got our names/original flight dates and what we needed wrong and wouldnt try to put us on a direct flight or offer any kind of upgrade, apology or explanation as to why we had been stuffed around so much. By 11pm we finally had our hotel for the night sorted and once we checked in we once again had to chase up the food vouchers which were promised to us. Flight was terrible on the way home and going via Melbourne was a huge inconvenience as we had to collect bags, clear customs, then check in again. We will never be flying virgin again. Terrible food, over priced, no pillow or blanket
Paid over $1,200 for Brisbane to Bali return in October 2022. This is the first international flight I have ever been on when you are not given a blanket or pillow. Of course there were no in built TV monitors for entertainment. There are only 2 toilets at the rear of the plane and for a 6 hour flight the line gets long. The food on the way to Bali was ok but on the way home it was terrible. You are only given water or softdrink in a plastic cup which is poured from a larger bottle. On the return flight two of the attendants were asleep in the rear seats visible to all passengers. I doubt whether I would fly virgin internationally ever again.

Oversold twice in a row
The last two times I have flown Virgin Australia the flight was oversold. This means that there are no seats available and they just put you on a later flight. Basically they don't value your time and prefer to screw you around so they don't have any empty seats.
That's okay and they can run their airline anyway they want, but I won't fly them again.
I got home 3 hours late on a Friday afternoon flight and missed my children before bedtime and completely lost my night.
Terrible business model and I've had better luck with Tiger......

Guess which gate
I went straight to my gate on the ticket exactly at boarding time for VA883. After a while I went to the counter and asked when is boarding to be told the flight had left at a different gate. I would have to go and purchase a new ticket and flights were full for next 2 hours. Ffs how was I meant to know the gate changed when all the boards and announcemences in the terminal are for Qantas and Jetstar.
I made sure I was super early on the late flight but while at front of the line people kept asking if this was the flight to Sydney as the board said gold coast - how could this be so crap!!!!

missed a flight due to a medical emergency, the company gave credit without penalty to use on the next flight-thanks richard. In this day and age corporate australia lacks soul so it was refreshing that this company still has a heart.

Worst airline in the world
Horrible airline. Left stranded to sleep in airport. Lied to that another flight wasn't available when it was. Luggage not returned. Worst experience of our lives. No care for passengers. None. Please don't take the chance- fly someone else.

Comfortable Flight
I recently flew with a family member to and from Cairns with Virgin Australia. The flight, snacks and the service were excellent. I booked Economy X tickets which gave us extra leg room and priority boarding at Melbourne Airport. However, no priority boarding at Cairns Airport which didn't make much sense considering that Airport isn't as busy, but that's something I will raise separately with VA. This was the only fault I could find.

Not bad
Got a question about the booking, I sent them an email and surprisingly I got a reply from them. Not bad for a low cost airlines unlike those being voted as best airlines of the year.

Bali to Sydney. Dont do it with virgin
Night flight from Bali to Sydney. Walk up the steps into the plane to be greeted by the putrid stench of the food thats going to be served! Holding back the reflex gagging I get to my seat. Great ! Its brick hard. This is going to be horrible. Im not tall and still my knees hit the seat in front. The plane used had to be one that is used for domestic flights. The experience was absolutely shocking. Ill never ever fly virgin again. It was pathetic and Sir Dickie, if youre reading this, the uniforms worn by the air hostesses might look good on size 8 frames but definitely not on size 16

Good Airline suffering for poor work culture and employees.
While it has a loyalty program, online options and other facilities of a modern airline, the main problem of Virgin is its work culture. Most of the employees are very casual and flights are often delayed due to their willingness to operate on time.
1. Booking is easy.
2. Lacks leg rooms in economy class, otherwise okay.
3. Others services are fine, except they are often delayed. I find one in my every three flights delayed.
4. I travel once or twice every month in Virgin and is their loyalty member.

soon as I got there, I paid up for a Business Class ticket for $10,000. That's a lot of money, right? At least it is in my book. I chose Virgin Australia, to be really honest, on price. It was a couple of hundred bucks cheaper than the next best flight. Also, because of lots of other domestic flights I've taken, I'm also a Gold member of their Velocity program. So I figured I'd get a good service. Wow. I couldn't be more wrong. The experience I have just had with Virgin Australia is so utterly shocking that I felt I have to share this with people just so, even if it's only one person, I can save it from happening to someone else. Here's how it started. Just after I had bought and paid for the flight, I got an email from Virgin saying they were altering the flight details. They were now re-routing through Melbourne so the flight wouldn't get in until after noon. Obviously that didn't work for me so I called them up and after approximately 30-minutes on hold I managed to talk to someone. This is on the Gold member line. They told me the flight had been re-routed because not enough people had booked seats so they were picking up extra travellers to Melbourne. In other words, it was in their own economic interest. It feels to me that when someone sells you something like this and you make your plans around it, if they don't sell enough then, well, that's their loss. Virgin Terminal Sydney
This is a complaint about the airport security at the Virgin Sydney domestic terminal on 26 September at about 3.30pm. Their new practice is to herd people, three of us at a time, into their little sealed holding pen for their electronic sniffer. This takes three times as long as before, and also, as a person, I do not appreciate being put into their little sealed holding pen. They should apologise and then stop it. Their online complaints form also does not work. I am not flying with Virgin from Sydney again until they stop treating passengers like this.

Does virgin domestic still do final boarding announcements. I only heard one telling passengers they would be boarding in 5 / 10 mins.

Not sure...this is the first flight i have booked with them in 5 years...I have 2 domestic flights booked for tomorrow and Friday..I will find out...but nonetheless theyre a bloody ripoff
