Can we in Australia get the 1 pound Gas regulator like they do in the states. Ao we can use the small green bottle on the go instead of taking the big bottle.
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Paul, we've answered your other question, but no you can't get the small green gas canisters like the US; our barbecues take a minimum 4.5kg gas bottle. If you need further information, please call us on 1300 301 290. Thanks!
Pauldasked
Hi, I have the premium baby q1200. can you buy the gas regulators that house the small I pound green bottles on Australia, like in they have in America.
3 answers
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Pauld, sorry no, the smallest gas bottle that suits our barbecues is a 4.5kg standard gas bottle. If you need any further information please let us know on 1300 301 290.
How is they can do it in America. What is different about There Weber’s.
Why can’t we use the 2kg gas cylinder or 3kg.
The 2kg cylinder should give 12 hrs straight cooking time and lighter to carry than a 4.5kg cylinder but actually 10kgs after filled with lpg.
rodb1958asked
i want to design a box and slider tray for a baby q (1200), what are the closed dimensions (weber have all these except the depth) and, maybe, the width and depth of the feet where they would contact the slider plate.
many thanks, rodney
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Rod, I've done some quick measurements for you.
Depth with lid closed is 38cm
Depth of the feet/frame 25cm
Width of feet/frame 45cm
If you'd like some precise measurements, I would suggest heading into your local Weber dealer and get all the measurements you need. If you need any further information, please let us know.

Hi. I’m looking at making pizzas in my Webber q. How long do I cook them for and do l reduce the time of cooking for the second pizza?
3 answers
I use a pizza stone and warm it up for about 20 minutes. Then cook them. We make our own bases because my children are diagnosed celiacs and incorporate Kfibre in the base. Home made bases take about 3-4 times longer depending on the thickness. I wait until the cheese is bubbling and base has a little bit of dark brown.
The preheating of the stone is the difference. The cooking time is the same.
Yes, I also use a cooking stone... preheat ii then add the pizza...edges of dough will start to brown & cheese will melt & bubble, use a spatula beneath the pizza and it will come away clean, you can also “feel” that the base is cooked by the way the spatula moves against the base. Enjoy!!
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi, thanks for your question.
If you've set up your barbecue and pizza stone according to the handbook (including pre-heating for correct times, etc), then your cooking time for an average pizza should only be about 12 minutes.
To reduce the cooking time of the second pizza, remove the first, wait roughly 5-10 minutes for the stone to pre-heat again and then place the second pizza in.
If you need further information regarding the set up of the pizza stone in the Weber Q, then please let us know and we will run through it.
Thanks, and happy barbecuing!

Hi, does the Weber wok work on an ordinary gas stove top?
Does it work with the Family Q, if so, how?
3 answers
I dont believe the wok would function with the weber Q range.
Any wok should work with a gas cook top in your home.
Hi Leanne, I never used the Weber wok. I own the Weber Baby Q not the family Q, but if you have the Weber hot plate acessory you can cook veggies, eggs, bacon really easy.
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Leanne,
Thanks for your question. We have a Weber Wok that is suitable for our GBS systems (for both the kettle and premium gas barbecues), but not for the Q range of barbecues. It has a round bottom, so it needs to sit in a circular hole to keep it sitting flat and secure. You wouldn't be able to use it on a regular stove or on a Q as they don't have the necessary hole to support the Wok.
You can use our Q Ware range (frying pans and casserole dishes) to get similar results without the use of the Woks.
Hope this helps!
Bobasked
Can I connect our Weber Q to a gas outlet which is on an outside wall or our Retirement Village Unit instead of a gas bottle?
Bob
2 answers
One would assume it would be the same as connecting it to a normal gas bottle, this is not a question i can confidently answer though sorry.
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Bob, thanks for your question.
You would need to find out what type of gas is plumbed through the retirement village; it would more than likely be Natural Gas if it's plumbed through your home.
If you barbecue currently runs on gas bottles (LPG) and you discover that it is Natural Gas that is plumbed, you would need to get the barbecue and jets converted before you could use it with that different gas type. If it's easier, please call us on 1300 301 290 and we can walk you through the process. Thanks again
Mark Jasked
What is the maximum temperature I can preheat my baby q to... want to have maximum heat to crackle pork belly.
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Mark, thanks for getting in touch.
After about 10 minutes on high, you should have around 220°C (428°F) for your Baby Q. This should be more than enough to give you the crackle you're after, but keep an eye on your barbecue for the first 20-25 minutes, as pork belly is quite fatty and prone to flare-ups, especially at that high heat. If you need any more help, please let us know!
Feamacasked
I’m thinking about purchasing a Baby Q for our family of four. However, two of us are vegetarian and two of us are meat eaters. Can anybody recommend how they use this BBQ to cook meat/non meat dishes at the same time or would I need separate grill plates and cook in two separate batches? I guess I really want to know if meat juice will end up all over our veggie food with the lid closed. Cheers
2 answers
You can cook meat and veg at the same time as the juice from the meat will fall through the grill into the pan below.
It won’t accomodate two grills and it’s not necessary to cook in batches. It’s more the aroma of the meat transferring to the non meat. If you can handle that go for it.
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Feamac, thanks for your question.
A Baby Q can certainly help cater to your families dietary needs; they can cook anything from a simple steak to vegetable curries, pasta bakes, grilled veggies and so much more! Check our recipe section here and you won't be disappointed: https://www.weberbbq.com.au/weber-recipes/
A Baby Q can have either two grills (separate halves), or one grill half and one half-hotplate that you can purchase as an accessory. If you don't want to purchase a hotplate, we have other options like our vegetable baskets (to keep them from falling between the grill bars), frying pans, casserole dishes and many more! If you require any more information, please don't hesitate to give us a call: 1300 301 290.

I have a Weber q 1200.
I also have just picked up a new age caravan which has a bayonet type connection and the hose provided has no regulator. Is there a way I can connect the Weber and keep it compliant?
Thanks for your help.

Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Geoff, thanks for your question.
It would be best to contact us on 1300 301 290 for gas compliance questions. Thanks!
The bayonet fitting on the van should come from the regulator on the vans gas bottle so you should not need another regulator after the bayonet fitting. The bayonet fitting should also have an isolating valve. If in doubt get it checked by licensed gas fitter :)

I am looking to purchase a baby Q however I have been to three retailers and I cannot purchase a connection to a 3kg gas bottle. Apparently there has been a change to the connections on the baby Q this year (to be the same as the larger Q series) which they weren't informed about. As I am buying it to be portable it is bit silly to use a large 9kg gas bottle when smaller ones are available.
Will an adapter be sufficient? What kind of adapter do I require? Am I able to purchase this through Weber or do I need to look to another supplier?
Thanks,
Jeremy
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Jeremy,
The hose has always been the same fitting. It doesn’t fit on smaller gas bottles, which is what is recommended in your owner's guide. It should fit on a 4kg swap and go one, perhaps try that?
If you can find an adapter, give it a go but some people find they get a drop in pressure when the gas gets low, as there is not enough pressure in the small bottle.
Hope that helps. If you have any more questions, please call us on 1300 301 290 :)
Thanks!

Just purchased my Q1200 Rotisserie today. How do I set up my Baby Q 1200 to rotisserie ? I am a bit nervous about letting the fat drip down onto the grill will cause a fat fire as a few people have in recent days If I set it up with convection tray trivet & Foil tray with water in it will the tray hinder the movement of the spit When I put the handle guard on both screws dont tighten they just keep turning Thankyou from a Happy Weber Cook
2 answers
Hi Rose Iam not sure I just cook my roast on the convection tray & trivet with foil
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Ros, thanks for getting in touch.
We recommend that you use a convection tray and trivet as this will allow the heat to circulate properly around the meat. It will also let those juices drip through the tray and hit the hot grills, causing a delicious smokey vapour that will infuse flavour into your meal.
If your barbecue is clean and drip tray has been replaced, then you should not have any issues with flare-ups. If you're really concerned that it may happen, you can use a SMALL tray on the trivet to catch the juices/fats - you may miss out on some delicious flavour in doing this.
If you have any other questions, please let us know!
Verityasked
hi, what type of tray should we use to cook fish?
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Verity, thanks for your question.
That depends on a few things, like what fish you're cooking, and how you want to cook it!
Delicate fish like snapper fillets, whiting, garfish, etc can benefit from being cooked on a half-hotplate, or you can use our Small Stainless Steel Grill Basket https://www.weberbbq.com.au/weber-accessories/small-stainless-steel-grill-basket/
Meat like prawns, squid, oysters, etc can be placed straight on the grill.
Salmon and thicker cuts of fish can be cooked on a convection tray and trivet set-up, as they will take longer to cook and benefit from being away from the direct heat of the grill.
Hopefully some of that has helped you, otherwise please call us on 1300 301 290 and we can assist you further.

Hi there, our beloved baby q is only heating to 150 degrees on high. Any suggestions as to what we may have done to it?
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Thank you for your enquiry. Here are a few things you can try to fix the problem of your bbq not getting hot enough.
Make sure you’re pre-heating and cooking on your barbecue as directed in the cooking guide that came with your Weber Q. Remember to always preheat for at least 10 minutes on high and cook everything with the lid closed.
If you’re still experiencing problems, check that the flame travels all the way around your burner tube when you light the barbecue. Occasionally, over time the burner tube on your Q may become blocked by debris falling from the grill above. You should be able to resolve the problem by cleaning your burner tube.
1. To clean your burner tube, first, remove the grill from the barbecue when cold. Using a clean wire brush, brush across the burner tube all the way along. Try reigniting the barbecue and check if the problem is resolved.
2. If not, turn the barbecue off, wait for it to cool and push a pin, needle or paper clip into each of the burner ports to ensure that they are clear. Try reigniting the barbecue and check if the problem is resolved.
3. If not, turn the barbecue off, wait for it to cool and remove the burner(s) from the barbecue. To remove, follow the directions in your owner’s guide. Soak the burner tubes in hot soapy water and clean with a nylon scourer. Ensure the burner is completely dry before replacing in the barbecue. Try reigniting the barbecue and check if the problem is resolved.
4. Check the spider guard is clean and clear. This is the mesh covering at the beginning of your burner tube.
To reduce the chance of your burner tube becoming blocked again, clean your burner tube using a wire brush after approx. every six times of use and clean your grill too. Sometimes grease can accumulate on the underside of the grill and drop onto the burner.
Check the vent hole on your regulator is clear. There is a hole in the regulator that ventilates the hose. Could you please try putting an extended paper clip into the hole to ensure there are no blockages?
If you are still experiencing difficulty, please contact Weber customer service at [email protected] or on 1300 301 290. We will need your serial number which can be found on a white label on the barbecue under the side tables or on the back leg or on the front of the owner’s manual, begins with two letters and ends with seven digits

Hi, does the large Weber casserole pan with lid, fit in the high lid BabyQ? Any ideas?
2 answers
no i think size is diffrent
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Julie, thanks for your question.
Unfortunately, no, it won't fit. It's too big to be used with the convection tray and trivet, which is how the instructions state to use it.
We suggest using the Small Casserole Dish only with the Baby Q's.
Thanks!

Can I use natural gas on the Weber Baby Q 1200?
1 answer
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Ann, thanks for your question.
The Baby Q models 1000 and 1200 are only available to be used with LPG, not natural gas.
If you would like to use natural gas, you would need to look at the Weber Q 2000 model upwards.
Hope that helps answer your question. Thanks again Ann.

With regards to gri2a reply on 17 August, using 465 gram gas bottle with Baby Q.
We are wanting to do this also. You mention attaching the gas bottle straight onto the Baby Q, with a regulator.
Is it unsafe to use the Baby Q without a regulator?
Where would I purchase a regulator to fit in between the Baby Q and small bottle, that does not have a hose?
Thanking you
Regards
Grant

Hi.did not see the original question, but am always scary of not proceeding using the manual, have been aware of 2 serious burns with lpg. Sorry I cannot help.
Weber Barbecues A.Weber
Hi Grant, thanks for your question.
We've seen the original reply, and do not recommend that you do this.
Your Q comes with a hose with a regulator attached. We are unable to recommend changing the hoses for your Baby Q, as this alters the barbecues' compliance with the Australian Gas Association. We are unable to modify (or recommend modification) any part of the barbecue that forms part of the certification (ie hose and regulators, manifolds etc.). To do so would be to effectively supply a non-certified gas appliance in Australia.
You may be able to find a gas fitter who is willing to modify your bbq but again this would not make the appliance certified and would potentially expose the gas fitter and yourself to liability and safety issues should anything go wrong.
We are sorry that we cannot offer further assistance. If you would like any further information, please contact our Customer Service team on 1300 301 290 (toll-free) or your local gas provider.
