These are designed to sit on top of the grill, rather than having to remove half of it.

Hi Damo, the half-hotplates are made to be used with our split grills; if you've got a full grill, you have the option of removing the entire grill and just using the half hotplate (this won't give you much flexibility in terms of space) OR you can purchase a set of split grills and then you can use both the grill and hotplate at the same time.

We don't recommend cutting the grill in half with a grinder either.

Hi Trish, I can get you some measurements, but you won't fit a leg of ham inside the Q100. You would be looking at a piece of leg- you can ask your butcher to cut a leg in half and that should fit.

Hi Jenny. Yes, technically you can use one. However, the philosophy of Weber barbecues is to cook with the lid down, preferably on the grills. When you cook on a full hotplate, you're getting the performance of any flat-top barbecue and not the quality performance that Weber's are known for. We recommend using a half-hotplate, and half grill because if we believed it would perform adequately, we would manufacture our own full hotplate.

Hi Mossimo, extremely hard to say what the exact temperature would be on your Q due to many variables like position, weather, age of the Q, gas levels, etc.

We write all of our recipes in settings, rather than the temperature, for this reason as Standard Q owners would have difficulty determining the temp.

If you would really like to know, there are many external thermometers available to help you ensure your food is cooked. We have three; the iGrill range, Snapcheck Thermometer and Instant Read thermometer, which are all available on our website https://www.weber.com/AU/en/home/

Hi Kara, I'm sure we can help you! When they're brand new, the barbecues can cook slightly hotter, as there is nothing hindering the gas flow (fats, debris on the burner tube, etc). You may find that you will need to turn it down slightly to direct medium heat, rather than direct high for your first couple of cooks.

If you're cooking sausages straight on the grill, we would recommend cooking on direct medium setting anyway, as they're quite fatty and dense, so they can take a little longer to cook, plus you won't split the skin if you cook them this way.

To set your barbecue up for direct medium, pre-heat on high for 10 minutes as you have been, then turn the dial to two notches above the half-moon. If you need any more help, feel free to reply here or you can call our customer service team on 1300 301 290.

Hi Mariah, this is because the frame on the Baby Q is smaller than the Weber Q models and the Patio cart is only suitable for the Weber Q models.

The only option for the Baby Q us the Portable Cart as this barbecue is designed for travelling and portability.

Hi Steven, you can put the grills (and hotplate, if you have one) in the dishwasher, as well as the roasting trivet. You may get better results cleaning the grills by soaking them in hot, soapy water though.

Hi Daisey, thanks for your question. You don't have to use screws, or take off the handles. If you look at the two handles either side of the Q cookbox, there are little holes above them? You just slot one pin into the hole, then it should be in far enough to then fit the other pin in the other side.

Hi Deeny, we don't use lead or cadmium in any of the half-hotplates or grills. These are made with cast iron and coated in porcelain enamel.

There was a point in time where there was Cadmium in the red coloured kettles, in the paint. This has now been banned obviously and hasn't been in our products for many years.

Hi Peter, great to hear you're loving your Q! Being a 220 model, this is our older version of the Weber Q because of this we have limited options available for a cart- if you call 1300 301 290, we may be able to source you a cart that fits as you won't find it in a retail store.
