Good one
We bought it 5years ago, it is OK but the body was too brittle. It cracked when a small jar fell o. It. It was easy to clean but I had to change it after 5 years. The steel finish distorted and damaged in the first months and the look was not new after that

Fridge door very hard to open
This fridge works really good and we like the layout but it is very hard to open the fridge door. The freezer door opens easily. After one week I reported this problem to the Good Guys where we purchased it and they said they would contact Westinghouse Service. Two weeks have gone by and so far no has contacted us. I see on the reviews where another customer has pulled his door handle off and they had to replace the whole door.

Still going strong
Cannot fault it. We had to specially order this one as we needed a left hung one. We had to wait about a month but we had very good service from Harvey Norman and got a 41 litre Waeco fridge as a promo gift from Westinghouse. Its easy to clean Stainless steel and has a coating to help easy cleaning. Temperature adjustments are easy on the inside. Its fairly quiet. It does its automatic defrosting every so often and when you get used to this sound of this its no problem. Good use of space inside, we opted no for the water dispenser in the door. Used up too much space we thought.

product is really loud
The fridge is really loud and gets worse and worse. Rang the tech service a few month after purchase, they came and told us it was normal, the second time rang Westinghouse up, they would like place charge on us as it is over the 2 year warranty even there is history and record of previous service (nothing was done, 'second opinion required' ). After 2 years the noise, of the fridge became unbearable, not recommended. Westinghouse service team is also hard to get contacted, waiting time on the call is way too long.

A Very Good Purchase
This fridge freezer is just the right size for a family of two. There are adequate and usefully designed compartments. The ice crusher is a useful feature. Some reviews complained it was noisy but I have not found it so.

High Pitched Noise
I have had my Westinghouse for 2 weeks and it makes a high pitch noise. All functions are fine and working properly. I have had a technician up and of course noise was not bad while he was here. He was only driving up the driveway when it started again. It is very annoying when you have sensitive hearing .I have tried to contact Westinghouse but have had no reply . 1300 number must be down

Very happy I bought it
As we open the fridge compartment more than the freezer it seemed a good idea to get a bottom mounted fridge and so I bought this model.
This fridge is super quiet which is great with our bedroom located behind the kitchen.
The fridge maintains good cooling in all areas of the fridge.
The detachable wine rack is good as we don't drink and besides there's plenty of room for bottles in the door.
The bottom freezer is great with slide out bins which take good amount of food and freeze it quickly.
The fridge is easy to clean with all bins and shelves being easy to remove and replace.
We are very happy with our purchase and look forward to many years of service from this fridge.

Fantastic. Best fridge I've had
I can't believe I put up with my old fridge for so long. The Westinghouse keeps even temperature, good heights and lots of adjustable shelves. The crisper is amazing. Cucumbers and capsicums wouldn't even last 3 days in my old fridge. I put it on highest setting (no air) and keep all gassy things like fruit on the shelves. Also putting a piece of kitchen towel in with lettuce and spinach. Everything lasts for weeks this way. I didn't think I'd use the wine rack but it's been great for juice etc, especially as this model doesn't have adjust...Read more
able shelving so the extra space for tall items is very handy. Very easy to clean the outside and doesn't leave fingerprints. Freezer shelves are good height and depth. The only very small thing is the ice maker. Because it's low down it's hard to slide the water in without it spilling and that leaves ice build up on the runners. But that's very minor. The seals are excellent and I was very concerned about noise as I have large open plan house with floorboards so sound really travels. I have a good 10cm down side of fridge and also at top so this fridge is so quiet. I honestly never hear any noise coming from it. Love it!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Great Fridge
Purchased this fridge as it was the only fridge that would fit into the space we had, every other fridge would stick out to much, the white makes it super easy to clean, there is plenty of room and is easy to switch the shelves around. The freezer compartment has the most room to other freezers I've used and the compartments make it easy to organise all your frozen goods!

Westinghouse seems to have a bad quality product
we choose westinghouse brand as it's one of a trusted brand and good quality before. Our newly purchased fridge just a month ago doesn't seem to work efficiently. The water and ice dispenser is not working at all since the day it has been delivered to our house.so i have to call and ask for a technician to come over and he needs to come back to replace a part of the fridge. Then, the power of the other westinghouse fridge that we're using for almost 5 months in my partner's place suddenly shut off, light was off and nit cooling at all. I have to ...Read more
call again the service center and the staff I speak with is not that too helpful. I even told her that both of our wesitnghouse fridge has a problem and i didn't hear any good advice.she even told me that maybe we might have done something wrong with the fridge like not reading the manual etc.Like!excuse me if we can fix this I will waste my time to call and wait until when your technician is ok to look at it. I will never purchase any westinghouse product again as their quality starting to declines.1 comment

It is good value to use for two people!
It maintain a good temperature in all compartments.
It is a little loud.
It is very easy to clean.
We like its color which suit with our kitchen area. We also like it's inter containers which is easy for us to store foods, vegetable, fruits, meats, fish and eggs with diffrent boxes.

After a month, we are relatively pleased but a few things could improve.
after 16 years we upgraded from our previous Westinghouse 342 lt fridge.
The 453 lt bottom mount is a great fridge for the most part, but there are a couple of minor annoyances.
I particularly like that:
its roomy and has a flexible lay out. esp the the freezer draws that have very sturdy metal runners and more space ie deeper than most other brands, allowing for larger items ie large frozen pizza or pastry sheets etc. large tubs of ice-cream,
We also like that the fridge is well lit so its easy to see and things are easily accessible....Read more

Excellent fridge
Our food lasts ages in this fridge. We’ve had milk stay perfectly fresh for over a month in there somehow. It maintains temperature so well and cools thing down quickly.
It’s pretty quiet too.
Easy to clean, and shelves come off easily.
The freezer is a little small but the drawers are very handy.

Got it right it's the best
After taking hours to decide this fridge is amazing. All I have to do is get a damp cloth to wipe down shelves.
I was concerned about space I have that much room as its deep. The door suction is amazing unlike my other one.
The best thing is that I'd has drawers in the freezer easy to seperate things and what my children love the best is the ice section. Fill ice tray and then turn the button/ dial and the ice tips into the tray.
Overall it's a win win

Loud So So LOUD and SO annoying I have to leave the room to talk on the Phone !. ANY HELP WOULD BE GREAT. The Noise is absolutey terrible, only had it a few months and it's driving us nuts, it sounds like an "out board motor ". otherwise it is quite efficient, but I worry as the noise gets louder we may have to go to consumer affairs

Great Fridge at incredible Value
This fridge was bought after reading a lot of reviews online.
I have not been disappointed. The fridge space is very generous, with it easily holding a week full of fresh vegetables and fruits along with the meat. The temperature has been very consistent with no issues even in the past month of hot days in the high 30s. The drink rack in the fridge is very handy, not only for convenient storage but the positioning allows for great circulation which in turn leads to faster cooling.
The freezer is great. The quick chill function has been a ...Read more
life saver as has the generous sizing of the ice tray. The freezer temperature, like the fridge, is easily controlled by the control panel and the setting is reliable. The drawers are strong enough to support being filled and extended completely. Easily cleaned and very quiet, it is everything a small family could ask for in a fridge. I have owned several fridges over the past 10 years and while this was purchased with price in mind, the quality is by far the best.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

I have a bottom mount fridge freezer, can I remove the freezer door without removing the fridge door first?

I bought the WBE4500WA in June 2016. I had no problems until about 10 days ago. The fridge compartment got warm. I called a local repair person. He took out the plate at the back of the freezer and used a heat gun to melt the ice on the coil - about one third of the coil was iced up. He said it could happen again in a few days or it might not happen again for a year. Six days later the fridge compartment was warm again. We took off the plate at the back of the freezer and melted the ice with a hairdryer. Fridge cooled down again. The repair person said that it could be any one of a number of things and he could change them all one by one but despite this the problem could still recur.
So it looks as if we'll have to buy another fridge as there is no point paying for repairs if the problem may not be fixed. It won't be a Westinghouse after this experience.
I think it is quite ridiculous that a fridge should fail so soon. Our neighbours also had problems with Westinghouse fridges - had 2 or 3 that had problems soon after purchase and ended up buying another brand.
We bought our first fridge-freezer in 1981 - a Kelvinator. We had it for 17 years and it was still working fine. We only changed it because we were moving and my husband thought that the move might affect the fridge so we got rid of it. Then we had just a small bar fridge for about 4 to 6 years - no problems. In the early 2000s we bought a second hand Westinghouse from friends who were moving. We had no problems with it at all. We only got rid of it because I have back and hip problems and I wanted a bottom mount fridge. We gave the old Westinghouse to a local op shop.
