Worth every cent

published

This works really well at keeping the food that I need chilled at the right temperature. There's lots of storage space and also it makes no sound at all when on. Getting this fridge has been a great change as it can keep everything at the optimum temperature which is especially great in this current summer heat!

Fantastic fridge

published

The fridge has worked great so far for the last 3 months. Maintains good temperature in fridge and freezer, and stays quiet. Easy to clean inside and outside. The temperature is also easily adjustable. The best feature is that it fits a lot of items and all compartments are adjustable.

Great fridge for great money.

published

My partner and I bought this fridge from Good Guys in 2017, and was really the only fridge which had the freezer at the bottom. It works really well - is really quiet, has options to change the temperature, and the storage capacity is very reasonable for the price we paid. Plus it looks great in a stainless steel type of look. Would recommend!

Great product, nothing to complain

published

Moving to a new apartment and need the fridge to fit into the existing "hole". Went to The good guys eBay and bought this big boy from there. Delivery was fast and friendly. The fridge works perfectly. It is not a fridge with inverter compressor but the noise during compressor working is acceptable even in a apartment.

Pretty good fridge

published

Quiet, well designed compartments, good temperature control. The quick chill function is pretty handy.
Stainless steel finish on front panels look great and is easy to clean. Not prone to fingerprints. However, the sides do not have a stainless steel finish. So if you have the fridge exposed, it is not the best looking.

Wide...spacious and working perfectly

published

I got a second-hand piece and works perfectly fine. It wide enough to store something big than regular size and trays have extra heights in the compartment with separate room for storing butter and eggs which is a bit funny though. The cooler is also good and instantly makes ice and gets beer cold in no time.

Great fridge

published

Love this fridge . Love that the fridge part is on top and freezer is at the bottom.easy to clean
Shelves that are on the door are roomy. Freezer looks small but actually holds a lot. Would highly recommend Westinghouse
Love the deep shelves
My only negative is that I have to keep milk on the door, to stand on a shelve I would lose height on the lower shelf giving not much room, but storing milk in the door it keeps cold

Love it even if its on the dirt!!

published

When we received our new fridge I went to fit her in the recess of the kitchen without any issues pluged her up and away she went... No issue :) until I took a step back and realised it was not sitting level. No matter how many times I adjust the legs underneath I will not sit straight!! But all and all the unit it wonderful, very well presented, easily cleaned and keeps all food at the perfect temp! a great unit 4 out of 5 sitting on the dirt ;)

Keeps freezing

published

I have had problems with this fridge freezing fruit and vegies. The technician has been out 4 times and cant find a fault. It is on recommended settings and i cover the veggies with a towel as advised and still the problem persists. It is very noisy at times. I have also noticed things in the freezer are not always fully frozen.

Very good and reliable brand. Good storage and lots of room for fruit and vegetables. This is my second Westinghouse purchase. Easy to have repaired if needed as parts are in Australia.
Easy access to temp control in the fridge area. Has a wine rack for those who drink and is easily removable if you don't

Very Happy with the Purchase

published

I read other's review before buying, some said it is very quiet but some says it's very noisy. I finally decided to get it because I like the layout. I have been having this fridge for 5 months now and am very happy that I bought it. It is extremely quite and I can hardly hear any noise. The temperature in both the fridge and freezer are so cold that the vegetables stay fresh in the crisper for up to two weeks. The compartments are very well laid out and I find it more spacious than my previous fridge even though it has the same capacity. The freezer has three drawers which makes storing and retrieving food very easy. I can easily remove the drawers out for cleaning too. I highly recommend this fridge.

Upside down has advantages

published

We bought this fridge as my wife has back and hip problems and was getting frustrated at having to bend down to get common items out of the fridge. She is very happy with the convenience of having this fridge at eye level. The fridge however does sometimes get quite noisy which is a bit of a disappointment otherwise it has been a good buy. The freezer at the bottom have draws which is convenient for seperating food groups and makes for easy access.

Good size for 2 or 3 people

I've had this fridge for a couple of months now. It works great, keeps the temperature even, vegetables stay fresh in the crisper. I wasn't sure about the door configuration when I bought it, but it's worked out well. It is adjustable, you can take sections out and move them around. Shelves are great, easy to clean, very easy to see where everything is in the fridge. It is a little bit louder than our old fridge, but that's something you quickly get used to and don't notice after a short while.

Ok not great

published

The fridge does what it's meant to, it keeps a constant temperature . We only purchases it as it was one of the few that fit perfectly in out kitchen. I actually would prefer a bigger fridge. It's easy to clean however sometimes it makes a loud noise at night. I think it's normal but since our house is open plan it sounds a bit too loud

Issue with top and bottom doors

published

28/10/17. Received delivery today of WBE4514SA which I purchased from Harvey Norman, Caringbah NSW. The top door is really tight and difficult to open. So much so that the fridge starts to move towards you as you do need to pull quiet hard on the handle to get it open . The bottom door won't fullly close unless you give it a push and has a creaking sound. Would appreciate some customer service assistance.

Noisy operation

published

Overall like the product except it is very noisy. The noise is constant, unless you open the fridge door. It then stops but restarts when you close the door. The noise can be heard over the tv and is becoming annoying. I was going to report it as a fault but can see from other reviews that the noise is normal.

I love my fridge it’s a great size, not to big as I live in an apartment but still holds loads of stuff. The temperature setting is always perfect and my vegetables always last well. It’s easy to clean as all the draws and shelves come out without any drama .

Very functional

published

Needed a larger fridge and wanted fridge on top. Was between Westinghouse or Samsung in price range we wanted to spent. Chose Westinghouse and very happy. Initially tho, when you closed the freezer section the fridge section popped open so seals were not that great. Called retailer and explained issue and they replaced next day. Replacement was perfect. Great size and compartments are easy to access and fridge is super quiet. Would highly recommend

453L Bottom Mount

I have a bottom mount fridge freezer, can I remove the freezer door without removing the fridge door first?

WBE4500WA (White)

I bought the WBE4500WA in June 2016. I had no problems until about 10 days ago. The fridge compartment got warm. I called a local repair person. He took out the plate at the back of the freezer and used a heat gun to melt the ice on the coil - about one third of the coil was iced up. He said it could happen again in a few days or it might not happen again for a year. Six days later the fridge compartment was warm again. We took off the plate at the back of the freezer and melted the ice with a hairdryer. Fridge cooled down again. The repair person said that it could be any one of a number of things and he could change them all one by one but despite this the problem could still recur.
So it looks as if we'll have to buy another fridge as there is no point paying for repairs if the problem may not be fixed. It won't be a Westinghouse after this experience.
I think it is quite ridiculous that a fridge should fail so soon. Our neighbours also had problems with Westinghouse fridges - had 2 or 3 that had problems soon after purchase and ended up buying another brand.
We bought our first fridge-freezer in 1981 - a Kelvinator. We had it for 17 years and it was still working fine. We only changed it because we were moving and my husband thought that the move might affect the fridge so we got rid of it. Then we had just a small bar fridge for about 4 to 6 years - no problems. In the early 2000s we bought a second hand Westinghouse from friends who were moving. We had no problems with it at all. We only got rid of it because I have back and hip problems and I wanted a bottom mount fridge. We gave the old Westinghouse to a local op shop.
