Westinghouse 605L French Door Questions & Answers

I would like to know the same as I'm moving in a week and it won't fit through the kitchen door without them off.

If It I was up to me & considering the issues I had with our Westinghouse fridge; I would keep week away and buy another reputable brand that has good customer service and good product reviews - these sites are neutral and there to help us make informed decisions - check out the opposition

Yes sorry to hear that; we had so many issues with our westing house fridge that we returned it and had it replaced it with different Brand and never looked back - I think you have a good case to return it if it’s still early days

I have spoken to them and they say there is nothing wrong with it. So frustrating

Yes sorry Julie that is exactly what was happening with our fridge. It didn’t matter how Cold I made the fridge settings i.e. I went to maximum, it still wouldn’t not cool below 6 or 7 degrees which made our food go off as well. I went as far as putting a thermometer inside the fridge and the freezer over a couple of days and it would not go below 5 degrees (on maximum cold) in the fridge part which is not adequate. Westinghouse quality is rubbish these days and I think you should insist to get your money back or at least a different brand of fridge; trust me that’s what we did otherwise we would’ve wasted $2000 as well. Good luck with this it is truly frustrating from Westinghouse. As you can see from the negative posts on this page, this particular fridge must be faulty and Westinghouse should swap them over or give people refunds.

Yes returned Westinghouse because it didn’t cool properly and had cheap handles and finish - we got a equivalent Fisher and Paykel side by side and its simply amazing and so much better than the Westinghouse. The Fisher paykel has far superior build quality than Westinghouse and cools our food perfectly - we are so happy we Returned the Westinghouse and got the fisher Paykel

Chilled but not extra cold, it’s actually very nice to drink. If you want it extra cold you can always put ice in it.

The only clunking sound from ours is when the ice is dropping into the tray

Mine does that too especially if you open it not quite dead centre of the handle. Something else I’m not happy with

Yes that’s exactly right but crazy that you have to open dead centre especially with the kids - something definitely not right :-(

In all made from electrolux. LG is great we had one for years

Gee that doesn't sound good. That is a reason I went for the normal model though, without the ice maker (as I also heard it was very loud/clunky).

Yes. Harvey Norman staff were lovely and replaced it but for the same model... at least is not sweating everywhere still noisy and the water that comes out is not cold... we might have to live with it for another 5 years if it last that long...time will tell.. and then hopefully be able to get an LG again. The staff from Electrolux are terrible I emaile dthem and never replied

our water is not coming cold at all...and we are lucky if we get 8 ice cubes... are you having also those issues? the smell is coming from the plastic tubes... its the rubber... i think... which then means that the filter is not working properly as it should... as we had an lg and the water was cold, we got plenty of ice and never had bad smell. however its very different with the WHE6060SA

This happened to us and we let it run about 10 to 15 litres of water through it before we drank it and if this does not work you could try changing the filter and or contacting the manufacturer but try flushing first.
As to the ice mine is always full of ice so may be you have a fault and you should contact the manufacturer (also make sure the water is turned on at the back of the fridge all the way seems dumb but could be a fix) i also lowered the fridge temp from 3 to 2 degrees this seems to keep the water cooler and food fresher.

No problems with our freezer handle. Water needs plumbing in. No funky smells that we’ve noticed. Love my fridge!

The freezer door handle has not been a problem so far the installer checked it was on all the way which seems to be a problem.
And as to the water chiller/ice-maker it does need plumbing and we have had no smell coming from the water the delivery installer warned me to change the filter regularly about every six months if you use it a lot and maybe 12 monthly if you use it occasionally.

People aren't putting the handle on far enough to the left which is why it falls off from day dot. You have to yank it pretty hard to the left to get it to click in, if you don't hear a click, you did it wrong ;) The handles for the fridge are so much easier as they pull down.

Hey u should be ok but hard to tell when I don’t know it kitchen ... anyways apart from it giving good fridge space and looks go I wouldn’t buy it as it’s the noisiest fridge ever !!!!

No extra clearance is needed. The doors are designed to open without needing extra space.

Sorry I can’t answer this as I didn’t need any clearance space and don’t want to tell u the wrong thing but if u go into the shop with ur measurements they could tell u

I don’t recall exactly but it wasn’t a noticebly long time. I do remember that we hadn’t pressed the button on the inside to start ice making but once we realised and figured it out, it was working quickly.

Hi I can’t answer exact time length but once the water goes through it should be in a few hiours. Ours didn’t work at first

Thank you. I think the problem with mine was that the delivery drivers had installed the power and switched it on but left the water install to me. The fridge and water had been on for 8 hours and still no ice. I switched the fridge off for 2 mins and turned back on to reset the ice maker and it has been churning out ice ever since. Very happy with this purchase ao far.

I have not had any problems with the handles to date.

I don't have the answer but would like to know. Our fridge is about the same age and is doing the exact same thing. Was good in the beginning but then started tasting strange. Changed water filter but didn't fix it. Never had a problem with our last fridge water dispenser tasting funny so suspect it is the fridge.
