Handle Issue
We've had the fridge/freezer for a year and a half and seems to work OK.
But today my wife opened the freezer and the handle snapped off.
I've looked at the spare parts and it costs $250 to replace; have to buy 3 new handles to replace a little 50 cent piece of plastic that attaches the handle to the door.
What a rip off.

Very Disappointing
We have always purchased Westinghouse appliance but we are left very disappointed with the latest french door refrigerator whe6000sa-d. The first fridge was delivered and it had a dent on the door so we had to wait another two days for another fridge to be delivered. The fridge part does not seem to cool below 8 degrees regardless of what temperature we set it to so who knows how it will cool in summer..? The freezer works fine but this "New" fridge is so much nosier than our old fridge i am starting to wonder if this second fridge is faulty......Read more
? Doors and handles are clunky and of poor quality. Westinghouse quality is gone but price is still at a premium. ($2,000 fridge) Our daughter purchased a Samsung the same day and it works perfectly, is of much better quality and was $700 cheaper..!! (I regret not researching this fridge before we purchased it but i thought Westinghouse was a safe bet; sadly its not and the mixed reviews here confirm the same) I would not recommend a Westinghouse fridge, i would recommend looking at some of the other brand names that seem to be of much higher quality.Purchased in April 2021 at The Good Guys for $1,920.00.

Warm Fridge but Freezer good.
Our family has bought Westinghouse for many generations. Out of the packaging this WQE6000SA we have a major problem in that fridge part does not cool. The freezer is working. The fridge is cooled by the same source as is the freezer but uses a fan and a stepper motor modulating valve and a temp sensor in conjunction with a controller to regulate the temperature. Called the Westinghouse service guy and he is a nice guy but was unable to get onto the online diagnostics for Westinghouse as it was unavailable. He has ordered all four components ...Read more
for replacement and said they would be at least a couple of weeks away. I had to go buy another bar fridge (Hisense that works well) so we had something to keep perishables as we lost approx $200 of food already. We will see what happens and see if the legendary reliability and support that Westinghouse was known for delivers....Purchased in April 2021 at The Good Guys.

2 weeks old and fridge area was warm this morning.
Lost our perishables, 5 hours later and still getting warmer, freezer seems to be ok at moment,
Not impressed, taking forever to get onto someone.

Very happy with my choice.
Love this fridge, it's quiet, so much space and it's modern looking, the light is so nice and bright and the shelves are sturdy and love the fact it came with a bottle rack. The fridge is nice and cold (but don't rely on the accuracy of the fridge thermostat, I have it set colder than 3 °C to get the fridge to actually be 3 °C but that seems to be common with all/most fridges) and seems to maintain a constant temperature, even in the doors. For those who complain the freezer handle falls off, you have to carefully match the handle up with the t...Read more
emplate sticker which means you have to be quite forceful and pull the handle hard (to the left) so it clicks in. If you do not hear a click, you did not do it right and yes, your handle will fall off. My only minor complaint about this fridge is the ice cubes tray is rather flimsy and you need to angle the tray a bit when you filled it up with water to get it back in as the freezer drawer doesn't really come out far enough. (Note, I have the 6000 model, not the 6060 one with the ice maker and water filter). I was swayed to buy this after reading the Choice test results and happy I did. Boxing Day sales and $200 cash back (not received just yet) made the fridge an excellent buy.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Happy with our purchase
An easy to use fridge. Things are easy to see and interior is easy to clean. The fridge is quiet and is keeping things fresh and at correct temperature. My last fridge was a Westinghouse and lasted 12 years and I am hoping that this does the same.Freezer section is easy to access with sturdy drawers. Stainless steel outer doesn't show every fingerprint. We are still getting used to to two door set up opening the right first.I advise most used items stored on that side so you don't have to open both doors conserving energy hopefully. Good energy rating. Happy with my purchase at this point.

Beautiful fridge. Perfect size
We’ve recently renovated our kitchen and purchased this fridge to match in with everything new. It’s a beautiful fridge with the perfect amount of space for us. The shelves are easy to adjust and I love the large freezer space and the three separate compartments that the freezer includes. Very happy that we bought the chilled water option. We use it all the time.

Nice looking fridge.....not so good customer service
Nice looking fridge however our seems to make a funny noise. I have been trying to get hold of customer service for 2 weeks and am still yet to speak with someone. The freezer handle also come off quite easily, need to use care when opening to stop it from falling off and landing on your feet.
The fridge compartment however is great. Great size, easy to see what you have, ample crisper storage. The freezer is very spacious, I could actually fit everything I had in my old single freezer plus more.
The whole unit looks beautiful and I brought Westinghouse due to its good reputation and previous experience of their appliances.
I am feeling very let down with the customer service at this point.

Once I finally heard from a customer service rep, who was lovely and very apologetic, a tech was sent to look at the fridge. He then had to come back and replace a part...this did not fix the problem.... Read more
After reporting that the problem was still there, the fridge was replaced promptly. This has restored my faith in the Westinghouse products and hopefully this is the end of our problem.Seems the same problem is happening with the new fridge however this time, it sounds like a police siren going off when the fan is running! Maybe my faith is not quite restored yet.

This fridge is fantastic, goes above most inports in this price range for functionalities and power
Attractive exterior, well-designed interior. Holds good capacities in both fridge & freezer.
Shelves adjustable in the body of the fridge & on door sides. Fridge interior lighting excellent.
Three drawers in the freezer have plenty of storage space, overall a great buy for my man cave. Price wise, I got a bargain at
$ 1782.00. I used my credit card reward and scored a $200 rebate back to my card... Bonus methinks.

No Noise - Is the Fridge On or Off?
Firstly the purchase & delivery process from Appliance Online (AO) was painless & fast with ample SMS messages telling me down to the hour when the fridge would be delivered & installed. AO had the best price on offer, further sweetened by a 10% off Ebay discount.
I've had the French Door fridge now for just under 3 weeks with zero problems. Running is whisper quiet, inside well lit (LED) with ample shelving, including a wine rack. The bottom freezer is well laid out with enough compartments to sort your frozen stuff.
Only negative, 1. Free...Read more

What a lemon of a fridge
So bought this thinking I would get the $200 cash back, so it seemed like a good price at the time. Fridge arrived, small dent on the front of the fridge, nevermind, desperate for a new fridge. Installed, just fits, fridge at first looks good has plenty of room inside. Handles are a little flimsy, but okay, haven't broken yet, but feel like they could break any time when you opened the freezer. Installed, first weeks use not so great, it buzzed and rattled like a bee, (took videos of it which i will upload soon), tried repositioning the level (...Read more
as per instructions, althoughthe instuctions were followed closely the first time), seemed to go away for a while, and fridge operated fine for about a week.. BUT... after a week of bliss with a new fridge a whining started to appear from the fridge fan every time you opened the door. Whining got louder and louder. A little research on the internet showed that this is frost build up on the fan, so turned off the firdge for a while, turned it back on, whining still there a little but it is now emitting the sound of a idling truck at night, and only at night on some fridge cycle. It has made my open plan living area unbearable. About to claim a warranty service but expecting problems given that noise emissions are hard to stick as there is no stated noise level from the fridge in the specifications. And they sticked me for the $200 cash back, what a waste of time. Terms and conditions were not clear, and still not clear, but I will be back for my pound of flesh as feeling ripped off for $2k. Stay away from this fridge. Will update how I go with manufacturer.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Overall good fridge so far
This was the only fridge that perfectly fit our 92cm space and it looks great. Love the french door design and I'm getting used to the freezer at the bottom. Like other reviews, the freezer handle came off in my hand straight away, but we managed to push it back on and attach it more firmly. Judging by previous reviews, this is a common issue.
Overall I'm happy with the fridge so far and am getting used to a few little quirks. If I've just closed the fridge door and need to open it again, it's very hard to open, almost like a suction effect....Read more
The freezer too needs a strong pull to open it. As others have noted, it's frustrating that the right hand side crisper can only be pulled out with both doors open, but I'll get used to it. The only other slightly annoying design is that the door shelves for tall items, that fit in the bottom slot, have 'fingers' that you can't remove. They're supposed to hold items in place, but in reality make it really difficult to put things in and out. The new design of the Schwepps bottles make them impossible to pull out.Similar opinion? Handle already replaced and fridge just stopped working. Only 6 months old
Fridge was purchased 6 months ago and the candles on the fridge just click into place and the housing is made of plastic, making it easy for them to fall off or break. My fridge compartment just stopped working and I am waiting for a repair person to come out to have a look. For an outlay of over $2000 am disgusted that I am here with a not functioning fridge. Lost my trust in the otherwise reputable brand sadly.

Handle falling off and frost build up in a new fridge
We have had this fridge for 3 months. The freezer handle has been falling off regularly when attempting to open freezer and part if it snapped off this morning. There has been issue with ice buildup in the drawers too which seems to be getting worse. We can't access right drawer in fridge without opening both doors. Occasionally, when the left fridge door is opened, the mechanism appears to jam and the door can't be shut unless the right door is opened. There was also a lot of difficulty trying to obtain the $200 rebate that was a deciding factor in purchasing the fridge. Terms and Conditions should have been explained at point of purchase and Westinghouse should just have the rebate applied at point of sale.

Hi Westinghouse. I was about to purchase this fridge, but with the bad reviews about the warmtemperature and handles falling off, I am not sure it is a good idea. Have these problems been corrected?

If It I was up to me & considering the issues I had with our Westinghouse fridge; I would keep week away and buy another reputable brand that has good customer service and good product reviews - these sites are neutral and there to help us make informed decisions - check out the opposition

Brand new fridge but ice drawer just falls out. Is this normal?
Replaced my faulty Westinghouse side by side with French door 605L but so far very disappointed. The veggie crispers aren’t very deep and are difficult to slide in and out. The freezer drawer became out of alignment very easily and was difficult to fix. Shelves difficult to adjust and had to remove door trays in get crispers and shelves in and out. Chose this fridge after good reviews but disappointed with my choice

Yes returned Westinghouse because it didn’t cool properly and had cheap handles and finish - we got a equivalent Fisher and Paykel side by side and its simply amazing and so much better than the Westinghouse. The Fisher paykel has far superior build quality than Westinghouse and cools our food perfectly - we are so happy we Returned the Westinghouse and got the fisher Paykel
There are so many complaints about the handle - everywhere, Westinghouse, has this problem been resolved or do I need to cancel my order?
