Good coverage & downloading for multiple home devices including smart tv, Netflix. Haven't had a single drop out in first month here on the Goldie. 250GB at $44.90 is a fair deal = "happy as"

A month after cancelling my account, still charging me. DON'T USE THEM!! WARNING
I cancelled my Yomojo account, less than halfway through the month. The operator said I wouldn't be charged, no issues, so I agreed. Now I getting emails from Yomojo, stating that I owe them more money... If anything, Yomojo should be refunding the money, of the month that I didn't use.. no such refund was offered to me..
I don't even have a mobile number attached to the bill that they are charging me for. To wit, they just attempted to direct debit the amount, without any explanation why.. This is a prime example of why I don't keep any money on my bank cards.. Companies like Yomojo. You have been warned, don't use Yomojo, they are a scam

Not a polished operation
Having been with Yomojo for almost 9 months, on their basic 2gb $15 plan and frequently going close to or over the 2GB a month, I decided that I would upgrade to the $19 4GB plan using their app, it didn;t go through. The first response I got, and a response that was mantained was 'There is no record of the upgrade' when the response that was required was 'We will have a closer look and see if there was a problem with the app, and try and resolve it.'
On top of that, knowing I was coming close to using all of my months quota, I bought a 'Bolt-...Read more
on'. My assumption having been with other service providers is a bolt on is valid until it is used, but with Yomojo it is only valid until the plan rolls over. I didn't get a chance you use any, if on a very small portion of the Bolt On before it disappeared within 24 hours. In hindsight it would have been cheaper to pay excess. Vince was gracious in providing compensation, but no before I advised Yomojo that I was prepared to have a discussion with TIO and ACCC, but unfortunately it was too little too late as I had already commited to another provider. Hopefully the business as a whole will learn from this and become a more polished, profession operation as we definitley need competition in this space.1 comment

Excellent coverage and really competitive rates.
Yomojo piggyback on the Optus network so their coverage is the same as Optus. The main difference is you pay less than you would if you went to Optus direct. Been with Yomojo for years and very happy. Couple of issues: (1) The only way you can pay is by credit card and they whack 2% credit card surcharge on (which is excessive, but of course ACCC does nothing about it), however it still works out as competitive. (2) I had an excess data charge on my bill that I knew was incorrect. When I challenged it *vigorously* they finally admitted the...Read more
y could not substantiate the charge and reversed it. That's the only time it's happened and it had all the hallmarks of a genuine mistake. (3) It's hard to talk to someone on the phone when you need help, but their online text chat service is responsive and helpful.2 comments

n it's the only method available. I used to work as an IT specialist in a major bank and your explanation of why you charge the fee is complete nonsense. The merchant fees you pay are nowhere near 2%. I get it - your margins are no doubt very competitive and an extra 2% looks great on the P & L, but just be honest and own it. The second point was dealt with at the time and is ancient history. My third point refers to the fact that it's almost impossible to talk to anyone because the 1300 number answers and then puts you on perpetual hold. Look, overall it's a positive review. I would have thought you guys would be happy with that. I am *very* happy with Yomojo, but nobody's perfect. The home wireless broadband is very easy to get started
The home wireless broadband is very easy to get started. The router arrived in a package. Just plugged it into the wall power socket, turned it on and it worked. No problems. The 250GB for $44.90 per month is a good deal but I don't need anywhere near that much data. Wish Yomojo offered the option of 50GB or even 20GB but they seem only to offer the 250GB. The data usage history page on their website is impossible to understand and the use of the term "Data Excess" is confusing as are the dollar amounts.
It would be great if they simplified this page.

Bloody terrible - ZERO STARS
They really do suck in so many ways - - - slow data, they've blocked my service for no reason, their app turned on data roaming whilst I was overseas that cost me hundreds of $$$, their call centre is only 9-5, their chat support staff rarely resolve anything, you can't use all the credit you pay for - - - the list goes on and on. Find another provider and avoid beating your head against a brick wall... find one that you can contact when you need to.

Great idea. Failure of biblical proportions on actual delivery.
Signed up for yomojo last year. Been billed three times now but have yet to receive a sim that can be activated. I noticed that my goldfish had developed limbs and attempted terrestrial navigation while I was waiting. My axolotyl had set up a teaching Academy in Greece. I find this concerning.

But apparently you pay for none at all. Enlightening.

Better than TPG (Thieves Perfecting Greed)
Like TPG I'm still on the Optus Network, so coverage hasn't changed, dropouts aren't an issue and my phone downloads fine so I'm happy.
Unlike when those thieves at TPG charged me $33 for 33meg of "excess data" even when their website said it would be $10. When I rang to complain they said "my plan was different". I said they're thieves, I paid the $11 to leave and now I'm getting 30% more data for less with Yomojo - YAHOO!

Questions & Answers
AspAntasked
I have an Optus tower across the water from my home about 200 metres away. When I contacted Yomojo they confirmed that it would provide me with the best reception for wireless broadband ie 2300GHz. I asked what was the internet speed with such good reception and was told 12MBs. So I joined up. The best speed I have managed so far has been 5.45MBs......with it varying down to 2.2MBs. I have the router in the center of the home and it doesn't matter if I shift it next to the window facing the tower....the speeds are the same. Is Yomojo falsely promising 12 MBS? Is anyone else achieving better results. I have a neighbor 2 houses away who is receiving 12MBS on a Vodafone dongle and yet the Vodafone tower is further away and has more obstructions between them?????
5 answers
Yomojo are a bunch of clowns - personally I wouldn't believe a word they say. I think you might be entitled to a refund as it's less than 50% of the speed that you are paying for. Maybe try testing your neighbours dongle in your house and see what you get (might do it for a 6 pack of beer). If you get 12Mb/s then you go with Vodafone. If not - then there may be some interference from the other traffic from the tower (or simply your proximity to it) that is slowing it down in your house. Like when you get close to a radio tower and pick up 4 stations at once but you can't hear the one you are on - the signal to noise ratio gets screwed up.
Thanks Cam.... I have Amasim on my mobile phone and I did a speed test on the data....came up just over 45MBs. I don't know who they retail for but at least it showed me that the router from Yomojo is restricted. Yomojo retail for Optus....so it's either Optus or Yomojo applying the brakes and it's either at the tower or in the router. I'm going to see if I can find out who's ripping me off before I lose out on my new $175 router
Yomojo M.Yomojo
Hi Aspant, whilst the service uses the Optus 4G Plus network, the service is designed to be used in the home and the speed of data transmitted is different from the speed of data using other services supplied over the Optus 4G Plus network. In metropolitan areas n areas where 2300 MHz coverage is available, you should get download and upload speeds of up to 12/1 Mbps but lots of things can effect that. Your router may be faulty or there may even be a problem with the Optus tower. Send us a direct message or your contact details and we will be more than happy to help you troubleshoot this issue. Cheers.

Can I recharge my yomojo sim without having to go on the Internet to do so?
3 answers
I suggest you go with another company, Yomojo will take your money and run, with no reponsibility when something goes wrong!
I suggest you go with Amaysim. You can buy recharge cards at wollies. But if you really need a compnay with a store front then you have to go with either optus or telstra.
I was told no. If you run out of credit you cannot call anyone anyway. All calls to Yomojo cost and they seem to use up a lot of time and money for your own network. They don't explain what you need to do online so I got online and ended up spending more than the original plan I signed up on not to mention it was 6GB when signing up and dropped to 2GB without notifying me. When asking Yomojo about this they tell you it's on the website which I cannot see? So customers fault! So what you think you are signing up to becomes a different story you did not intend when going with Yomojo as they change things fairly often without letting you know and you're basically locked in unless you decide to change again. SCAMMERS. NOT WORTH SIGNING UP! I would advise people to shop around or make the change.
