Ok service
Yomojo coverage was ok, we didn't have any problems at first, but we did experience some bad connections, noises in the background when talking on the phone, internet download was slow. Customer service is great over the phone, and they are very approachable, easy to reach on the phone, and not being left talking to a robot

Great Service / Not A Great App
I have been with Yomojo for a month and haven't had any complaints relating to the coverage or availability to use my phone. However, I can't seem to get the app for my mobile to work. It won't accept the password or email I had set up and when I click on 'reset password' it let's me in once then won't recognise me again. The only way to check my usage is to log into the website all the time, which is very frustrating.

Excessive proof required
My wife and I signed up for SIMs with no hassle and they worked well. Then we were told that if we linked them we could save a few %. To do this they demand FAR more proof of ID than we required to buy the SIMs in the first place - the latest is that they want scanned copies of our driving licences. Sounds like an attempt to defraud us to me

They would rather call us liars than look into their issues
So we have had a low volume, pay as you go Yomojo service for some time. As they say, the proof of how good or bad a company comes up when there is a problem. Recently my elderly mother started getting charged for data, even though I turned off all mobile data allowing her to connect only when in Wifi at her home or mine. After she highlighted theses unexpected charges to me, I double checked her phone and confirmed all mobile data settings were disabled. The invoice and usage only says "internet browsing" so she rang Yomojo to advise that s...Read more
he had all mobile data disabled and to get more information, including IP addresses so we could identify where she had supposedly been "browsing". She was told that information is not available and that the settings must have turned back on. She asked directly if they were calling her a liar and they just repeated, that it can't be that the settings are off. They didn't once try and check anything their end or try to facilitate identification of the root cause of the charges. The fact she doesn't even know how she would start to browse on the internet, let along dig deep into where In have hidden access to any settings on the phone so these things can't be changed by accident is of no consequence to Yomojo. They stand by their charges and will not engage in further conversation. (Yes I do work in ICT and mostly telco for a long time and know what I am talking about here.)2 comments

Only one method of payment, will cut off your phone rather than provide an alternative payment metho
My card details were stolen last week, so I needed a replacement card. This period coincided with my billing period for Yomojo. I only have one card, and yomojo does not accept any other form of payment, so they cut my service.
I contacted customer support, and was told that I could pay by cheque (if I made a prior arrangement, and paid two weeks in advance). This was of no use to me.
Incidentally, this is not the first time I've had an issue like this. In the past, a Yomojo systems error caused them not to deduct a payment from my card. Instead of notifying me or retrying the transaction, they simply cut off my phone.

I agree with "Could be more Customer Friendly" and "Unfair Credit Card fees"
They promise a reward for bringing new customer, but they do not care about the exiting ones. How can I save money? You need to send IDs for participating family members. What?! Why do you need IDs now? You never ask IDs even when you issue a new SIM card, so why ask now? Even If it's one person using 4 numbers why do you care? How can I avoid credit card fees? You can't. They do not offer other options like DD. And you end up paying way more for what seems to be "less expensive"

Excellent, reliable, economical
I have been with Yomojo and its predecessors, Savvytel, Yatango for many years and have never had a problem.
It's economical for low use users and is excellent that unused credits can be carried over if subscription is paid prior to expiry date. I am not planning to change my provider as I am quite happy with their service.

All good, simple, flexible, cheap.
Needed an Optus reseller due to slightly out-of-town location amongst sand dunes. Telstra was a bit iffy at times (still is) and Vodafone was next to useless when I first moved in but has improved to the point of being a competitive service currently. Started with Yatango who went bust and the service seamlessly rebirthed as Yomojo. The ability to dial up your expected usage and change it month by month was appealing (used a couple of times), and the way your allocated monthly minutes was consumed was favourable to the user rather than the prov...Read more
ider. (No min. call duration or flagfall). The only minor criticism was in not being able to see historical usage. Current month only avail. on your account screen. Only left as my data provider was closing (Virgin - shame - they were great) and the data package I got offered at Optus was compelling - with unlimited calls and SMS along with the 50g of data - no need for a separate voice service.. The dramas I have had with Optus in less than 3 weeks would fill pages... a story for another time. Stuff me around again Optus and it's off to the ombudsman and back to Yomojo.1 comment

Good, affordable mobile service - recommend
I am with Yomojo ever since they took over Yatango and so far no cause for complaints. Was on a $10/three month validity pre-paid plan and recently switched over to the cheapest 1 GB plan. No regrets as I use data only for my cell phone GPS while driving and for checking emails; it works adequately. The cost of the plan is competitive. Network coverage is good. Customer service is very good, especially their online chat service which is prompt and accurate. I see no reason to consider other providers.

Questions & Answers
AspAntasked
I have an Optus tower across the water from my home about 200 metres away. When I contacted Yomojo they confirmed that it would provide me with the best reception for wireless broadband ie 2300GHz. I asked what was the internet speed with such good reception and was told 12MBs. So I joined up. The best speed I have managed so far has been 5.45MBs......with it varying down to 2.2MBs. I have the router in the center of the home and it doesn't matter if I shift it next to the window facing the tower....the speeds are the same. Is Yomojo falsely promising 12 MBS? Is anyone else achieving better results. I have a neighbor 2 houses away who is receiving 12MBS on a Vodafone dongle and yet the Vodafone tower is further away and has more obstructions between them?????
5 answers
Yomojo are a bunch of clowns - personally I wouldn't believe a word they say. I think you might be entitled to a refund as it's less than 50% of the speed that you are paying for. Maybe try testing your neighbours dongle in your house and see what you get (might do it for a 6 pack of beer). If you get 12Mb/s then you go with Vodafone. If not - then there may be some interference from the other traffic from the tower (or simply your proximity to it) that is slowing it down in your house. Like when you get close to a radio tower and pick up 4 stations at once but you can't hear the one you are on - the signal to noise ratio gets screwed up.
Thanks Cam.... I have Amasim on my mobile phone and I did a speed test on the data....came up just over 45MBs. I don't know who they retail for but at least it showed me that the router from Yomojo is restricted. Yomojo retail for Optus....so it's either Optus or Yomojo applying the brakes and it's either at the tower or in the router. I'm going to see if I can find out who's ripping me off before I lose out on my new $175 router
Yomojo M.Yomojo
Hi Aspant, whilst the service uses the Optus 4G Plus network, the service is designed to be used in the home and the speed of data transmitted is different from the speed of data using other services supplied over the Optus 4G Plus network. In metropolitan areas n areas where 2300 MHz coverage is available, you should get download and upload speeds of up to 12/1 Mbps but lots of things can effect that. Your router may be faulty or there may even be a problem with the Optus tower. Send us a direct message or your contact details and we will be more than happy to help you troubleshoot this issue. Cheers.

Can I recharge my yomojo sim without having to go on the Internet to do so?
3 answers
I suggest you go with another company, Yomojo will take your money and run, with no reponsibility when something goes wrong!
I suggest you go with Amaysim. You can buy recharge cards at wollies. But if you really need a compnay with a store front then you have to go with either optus or telstra.
I was told no. If you run out of credit you cannot call anyone anyway. All calls to Yomojo cost and they seem to use up a lot of time and money for your own network. They don't explain what you need to do online so I got online and ended up spending more than the original plan I signed up on not to mention it was 6GB when signing up and dropped to 2GB without notifying me. When asking Yomojo about this they tell you it's on the website which I cannot see? So customers fault! So what you think you are signing up to becomes a different story you did not intend when going with Yomojo as they change things fairly often without letting you know and you're basically locked in unless you decide to change again. SCAMMERS. NOT WORTH SIGNING UP! I would advise people to shop around or make the change.
