I have the triple and use the Ziggy baking tray in middle section. Cooked turkey twice this year to perfection. Also full eye fillet. Tricks, i use iGrill2 thermometer to ensure cooking to right temp. I don't open lid often, and i use 2 outside burners on low perfection, the hood temp gauge is also good

Hi Vicki, I really don't know as I've never tried them.I guess if they're OK in an oven, they'll be OK in a BBQ.

I have a single burner and I can't adjust the temperature. When I turn it to low the temp continues to rise making it useless for roasts.
Anyone else have this problem?

It has taken us a while to master our Ziggy as cooking a roast in a roasting dish just burnt on the bottom and as it just got too hot. We now cook pizzas and roasts no problem. We put 6 rocks over the plate and this raised up roasting dish/pizza plate about 5cm. We always keep it on LOW when cooking. Hope this helps. Blossem
Hi, I have the same problem,
I have tried to open the lid, about 25 mm using a piece of hard wood, that work. I noticed in the Ziegler and Brown manual, that say to add a small metal tray of water to keep the temperature down, they also say to just turn the bar be que off and then back on if you are cooking with the lid closed

Hi have you tried a bbq lighter. If that doesn't work check the gas bottle and line. If no joy you we have to ring them to get someone to look at the BBQ.

I recently bought 2 burner z&b bbq. Very happy with oven but disappointed with grill. Seems to stew steak and not possible to get medium rare. Tried cooking at 250 for 2 minutes each side and still comes out grey inside. Any ideas how to cook perfect steak with lots of char and flavour? Would it be better to cook steak on grill side of hotplate

I find it hard to get the char on the grill on high. I think the grill is too high
Hi i not sure on the two burner but on the 3 burner i turn on the bbq on for 5 minutes to heat up the grill and also we cook with thick steak and cooking it on a lower temp plus also it depends on where you get your gas from and how old it is as i have found out when i had a problem with other bbq. I get the gas form bcf and found it the best
Thnx you for suggestions will give them a try

What's the best way to clean?
1 answer
It is not easy! A bucket of hot water and scrubbing brush for the grill or hotplate and a stick and cloth with BBQ cleaner for inside.

Can I get brackets to fix the twin grill BBQ to a wall?
3 answers
Your better off giving Barbeques Galore a call. Theres some pretty elaborate accessories available for this bbq so it wouldn't surprise me. Personally I'd be more inclined to buy a couple of angle brackets from a metal engineering / fabrication company for the purpose of hanging split system air conditioners on as they're galvanised or zinc plated won't rust and you can hang utensils and other from them. Just an idea at least. See how you go.
Thanks mate good idea
Honestly I don't know. The only thing I would say is that these things have a vent hole in the rear of the lid, it's more like a cut out type shape, so if you did mount it on something allow enough room for sufficient venting. As wally 1 said, Barbeques Galore would be a good start.

Take it back to the retailor to fix i found them to be helpfull
Obviously the twin grill I have and the one you have a different in this area. On the Twin Grill it is an aluminium dish that just sits in a slide in and out frame and it's just a matter of lifting it out and cleaning/replacing. I have no screws or anything like that to undo. Regards
Thank you - will do!

What is the difference from the single element than the twin element please for using with our caravan?
And is it good to place in caravan outside attached table or to buy the trolley and why?
Thanks
2 answers
The twin is larger than the single burner so storage space becomes a factor as its wider, higher and deeper so look at where you want to store it, the twin has larger cooktop and more oven space, you dont need a trolley if you have a table, a trolley just takes up more space and is extra wieght, at worse put it on the ground. Not sure why you stated natural gas as this is only for home use, caravans and campers all use LPG cylinders
As per Grey Nomad's reply, plus as was explained to me at the retailer, the single burner is obviously smaller and it also doesn't have the heating performance of the twin (obviously),therefore cooking times are increased and the ability to roast is diminished again obviously by the single burner and size of the unit. Whether you want to put it on a stand or a table etc is entirely up to you. The twin grill basically just locks into the stand with spring clips and when removed from the stand there is nothing stopping you placing it onto some other solid surface, whether that's the the same for the single grill I'm not sure.

H, I bought the twin grill and the elevated stand to roast meat. Does anyone know how long it will take to cook 2.5kgs of roast pork? I'm guessing I still put it in a tray of water and place it on the opposite side to the lit burner and turn it a few times. Do you think 2 and half hours? They had a you tube video for a triple grill and the normal baking dish but no video for the twin burner. Would appreciate any help with this!

I have a roasting dish for the twin burner, it's an optional extra. Cooking time, go on line and buy a wireless cooking thermometer, select your meat and cooking preference and you'll have a perfect roast EVERY time, think about 1 1/2 hours but depends. I always take meat out of the fridge to let it get to room temperature before cooking.
Thank you. I ll try that. Mine was definitely overcooked.
I have a meat thermometer that i put in to get a reading then take out as i like pork well done, at least 2 hours with the stand in the middle and 2 burners on low so it sits at 200c and then 10 minutes on high to crisp

Why does the oil go black at 180 degrees when we cook our roast?
Thank you!

Hi Sue, what are you useing to roast in or on and what sort of oil
It is my mum and she uses normal oil like vegetable. She says she puts the meat in a baking dish. She says that if she puts the meat on the rack there is no place for vegetables?
Hi Sue, i do use a trivet to elevate the food as the fat drips off it burns and turns black, i suggest useing another dish for veggies and the warming rack.

My twin burner has recently gone very slow as if the gas is running out or lines are blocked etc ? I've changed gas bottles,I've cleaned it throughout but still very slow, any thoughts ?
90% been used just to cook steaks or snags etc I'm thinking maybe fat has dropped into gas lines ?
2 answers
Andyshark,, I use a wooden tooth pick to unblock any blocked gas jet holes.
I use wooden ones because they will burn if they break off. Once you have cleaned the jets keep the BBQ running on high for at least ten minutes to burn off any grease that maybe in the jets.
I think the only solution to these bbq is throw them to the top and start again. If I was u I would try taking it ban tell them I want it money back.

I'm looking to get this as a portable grill that can be used both lid-up and lid-down, depending on what I'm cooking. Don't need low-and-slow (I have a kamado for that) but need some degree of temperature control so as not to burn everything.
How low a temperature can you get with both burners running (for even heating) and the lid shut? Can it easily cook sausages, lamb chops, burgers, etc. with the lid shut without getting so hot as to burn the outside before the inside is cooked, without having to perform any tricks with foil, water, etc.?

Be in it best interest to look for a different product

Yes mate you can definitely cool great meals without burning and with lid down but needs to have both burners on low or only using 1 at a time. Although alfoil works a treat so not sure why you wouldn't use ot anyway to control the temp.
Bill has just had a bad experience, the Ziggy is a great unit.
