I have a Zip Hydrotap G4 BC Residential unit which is only about 14 months old, and has started vibrating when it fills it's reservoirs (generally during dispensing for chilled, and after dispensing for boiling). Replacing the filter alleviated but did not eliminate the problem.
Is this an easy fix? Or something I need to call Zip for? Also, does anyone know the warranty on the residential units?

Zip HydroTap G4 Models sold after 1 Mayember 2013 are covered by a limited 5 year warranty comprising 36 month comprehensive parts and labour warranty plus a further 24 month warranty on internal tanks.

All Zip systems are tested before they leave our factory to ensure they meet our strict quality assurance standards. A vital part of our quality testing is the sanitisation process, which can leave residual water remaining in the tanks. While the residual water does not pose any health risk, the slightly lower pH of this water may result in a more acidic and less desirable taste. To adjust the pH level back to neutral and therefore remove the impact on taste, units must undergo a full filter and tank flush. When a Zip product is installed it is important to follow the initial flushing procedures to balance the water through the new filters and tanks.

Yes our plumber who installed it did do the full flush as stated but we still have undrinkable hot water

I had water leak in my hydrotap and after contacting Zip they sent their authorized plumber. The guys said it's one filter thing and 2 small copper rods that needs replacing. I got invoice of $700 Filter Assy kit miniboil and kit plumbing sparkling.
It sounds bit too expensive for me, does anyone have any recommendation please?

We have the boiling water only unit, about 15 years old. Last issue only last year when the pump was replaced. Unit produces about a cup of boiling water, then the two safety and boiling water lights flash, and no more water is dispensed. After turning off and back on, the unit does the same thing

Why is the unit so noisy. Its constant and loud. Also chilled water not instantaneous. Takes a long time to come out and usually is still no colder than normal water in tap

Has anyone bought the zip hydrocare extra warranty. I am considering this as my home zip hyrdrotap 3yrs warranty is about to expire . After reading all these negative reviews it seems to be a good idea. But this is another extra cost and i am not sure if they actually cover everything or if it is worth getting in case my unit breaks down?

No do not get the after care they charge you the exact same amount as 2 services for the year & they still charge your for the filters on top of the premium.
250 for filter plus 54 dollars per 15mins plus 99 dollars all together it was 700. Waste of money

Please switch off the unit and unplug from main power for 5 minutes. Then reconnect power and please test the boiling water delivery. If the issue still persists, please call us on 1800460222 for further troubleshooting.

We recently moved in to a house with a zip tap, it was a selling point that included "recently serviced". Our concerns are, firstly it's very noisy when it has been used. It starts after usage, but also sometimes several hours after usage. Sounds like a compressor or a pump. we have to turn up volume on TV in lounge room some 8 to ten meter away. It never gave us sparkling water, even though we were told that a new gas cylinder was installed. Third thing is that it's sounds like a bubbling gas is trying to escape, sound is almost like a dripping tap. But there are no drops. At work we have three or four zip-taps and none seam to behave like at home.

Zip will not support one that's second hand and if it's the refrigeration unit or compressor that's on it's way out then be prepared for a costly experience!

Hi I recent turned off the zip tap because I didn’t have a chance to get a new filter. When I turned it on again the zip gave the error message “water leak isolate mains” but I couldn’t see a water leak and it kept happening when I restarted the unit. The filter was changed recently and I have dried the area.

How to adjust the water temperature (downward from 98C) on an old Zip Hydrotap without a touchscreen? I do not know the exact model - probably the number is at the back where I cannot get to.

Brand new Zip tap and we are having issues with the boiling water. I am not sure what the issue is, but it dribbles out, until it eventually builds up enough pressure and actually comes out properly. The cold water is fine and is not problematic. It appears that there is an issue with this newer model and the boiling side of things :-( How do you fix the pressure, so that when I turn the boiling tap on, it actually dispensers with pressure?
