Absolutely disgusted with my purchase
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY. I purchased a pie maker. The description which is no longer on the website said it was brand new. It arrived in an old cardboard box and has scratches all over it. It smells like it's defective and is missing parts that you would receive with this product such as 1 x pastry cutter and 1 x pie lifter. I am very unhappy with this product as it was meant to be a Christmas gift. If they had of stated on the advertisement that it was a damaged factory second I would not have purchased it. It looks like they plucked the thing out of their own tearoom, boxed it up and posted it. I will be raising a paypal dispute.

Horrible experience.
Bought a washing machine online, paid for delivery and installation.
Delivery guys came and did not install nor remove the old washing machine.
Claiming a table was blocking the way and brought back the washing machine which I paid for and charged me a $55 fee.
Why in the world would they bring back the machine?
Bought from Harvey Norman instead and all they did was move the table out of the way and installed it.

Quite obviously use "bait advertising" to get you to buy higher priced items
I saw a coffee machine in the 2nds world catalogie and went online to have a closer look and get more details. I was confused to find that the item is not listed on their website. Out of curiosity, i then looked for another coffee machine that had a good discount and surprise, surprise, that isn't there either. Just to check that what insuspected was happening was correct, i looked for a mixer that has an rrp of over $1000 but was down to half that - you guessed it, that isn't there either. Now checked a few items that only have small discount...Read more
s, and yes, they are all available. I rang 2nds world and enquired about the machine I actually wanted and was told that it isn't appearing on their website because they only have one - clearly a breach of consumer laws. I was told to ring the store that had the one and only machine so decided i would. Sure enough as i suspected, they don't have it, and the guy told me that stock shows as minus 6 (how that can happen he couldn't say). I said to him that it appears they advertise items they don't have in an effort to then sell a much more expensive item instead. Unbelievably, the guy agreed with me and said they do it all the time (he is apparently leaving for this reason). He told me the computer says there are over 100 on order and could be in by next Wednesday and i could check again then. I questioned how over 100 factory seconds could be on order? surely this is just a fluke if something is slightly damaged, or packaging is damaged - how can you order factory seconds in that quantity?. Are they damaging things to order? The salesman said most probably but then decided that he couldn't confirm if the ones on order would be seconds or full priced ones. I might have a look next Wednesday just to see but i think it sounds like i would be better off paying a higher price for one somewhere more reputable. If the stock situation doesn't change next week, on all of the items i looked at, i will contact Fair Trading and the ACCC to alert them to this so called 'bait advertising'.

Playing around with my delivery
1st excuse: wrong washing machine
2nd excuse: "the truck broke down, we'll be 1 hour late"
They were 2 days delayed, and covered it up with dodgy excuses.
No good.

Appalling!!! Happy to take your money, but they will then mess you around for days, after being rude
Went back after buying a washing machine from the Cremorne Store after only a year, to buy the same machine. I thought getting repeat business, and me not spending my money in one of several competing stores, they would look after me - wrong!! The salesperson after insisting I didn’t know what I was talking about, and there is no such machine, and trying to sell me a lesser machine they are obviously trying to clear out, looked into the store system only to learn I was right, and “he” actually sold it to me... not a good start but I was willing...Read more
to look past it as I simply just wanted what I had again, and needed it ASAP. Took my invoice to the counter, an older, surly, rude and unprofessional clerk then proceeded to harp on about the delivery cost not being high enough, after I agreed to pay a higher fee with the salesperson for a next day delivery, and insisted I pay more. I wasn’t budging. He reluctantly put it through, though rolling his eyes and huffing the whole time (absolutely the worst customer service ever!!). I paid, and left. The next day I waited until 2:30pm waiting around to phone the store and check if they are still coming, it sounded like the same surly old clerk over the phone, consistently he rudely barked over the phone it’s coming later this afternoon and hung up. I then received a text it will be delivered between 4 & 6, later after 5 I received a text to say it will delivered between 6 & 8. The delivery team arrived at 7pm. They were being very rough with the items in the back of the truck, they pulled out my machine, and it was not in a box, it was wrapped in plastic, but the plastic was ripped and the protective foam was all broken from where it had been roughed around, I questioned it, the 2 delivery men assured it was ok. Nearly throwing it off the back of the truck, I was really getting close to my limit, but we proceeded into my building. When we arrived at my front door, they asked for a knife, after smashing the machine into the elevator panels and showing no regard for property that isn’t theirs, it was obvious I was dealing with the pinnacle of unprofessionalism. I asked them to wait outside while I went in to get them a knife (even though they should have their own), only to have the more vocal of the 2 let himself into my home and disobey my wishes. By this stage I was over it, and I made it quite clear I would be inspecting the machine for damage before I accept it - but damage wasn’t the issue.. unwrapping the machine revealed - it was the wrong machine!! To make this worse the more vocal of the 2 argued with me it was the right one, and kept insisting and arguing, not listening to the fact I bought the exact same machine I purchased a year ago, I then produced the store receipt which showed they delivered the wrong product. The vile delivery person then insisted I sign for it, I refused. He then threatened to leave it behind in my building hallway, image it quite clear I couldn’t care less as it doesn’t belong to me and I’m still owed what I paid for from 2ndsworld. They reluctantly took the machine away, smashing the wall and lift panels again taking no care for the machine or building - clearly we are dealing with cowboys!! By lunch the next day, I still had no follow up from 2ndsworld, after I sent back a survey from them clearly displaying my displeasure. I then called head office, gave my detailed description, the store manager at Cremorne then phoned back. Adding insult to injury, he then informed my the machine I bought no longer exists anywhere, even though they sold me one, I reluctantly agreed to pay more for a model up, with the store managers assurance he’d fix the situation, I did get an ok, but not outstanding deal. Later that day he told me he couldn’t get the machine today, and it would be tomorrow. The next day I received a call at 3:42pn from what it sounded like the same surly old clerk, who called to tell me I owed them money, and needed to pay to get the machine delivered. I asked if I pay now are they going to “actually” deliver it today as they promised, he said yes, but I had the feeling this was going to be another 2ndsworld LIE. It’s now 9:25pm and no sign of 2ndsworld and my machine!! I have spent over $1100 at 2ndsworld and I’m being treated like rubbish, just appalling and nowhere near good enough. Do yourself a favour, AVOID and spend your money somewhere else. You’ve been warned!!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Excellent!
2nds World Auburn sales team was so bad though
He was sneaky using that hand written quote and sold me the floor model fridge
My regret was I didn't check the receipt after paying (buyers please keep in mind next time)
And when the item showed up it's not a brand new one
The delivery driver is such a lovely guy. He helped us to call up to check the order and was really patient and friendly with professionalism to do the service. He is definitely the champion for this. I would give him more than 5 stars if I could.

NEVER DEAL WITH THIS COMPANY - NOTHING BUT A NIGHTMARE!!
Ordered dishwasher 03 Apr 17 to replace old one in our office. Delivered quickly, but that's when the good news stops. Had to chase for a tax invoice on 12 Apr 17. Unit leaked in May, so called to report leak to them, and took a month for installer to come back. Claimed installation OK, product must have a fault. 2nds world then called Electrolux to attend who advised installation not done correctly. Tax invoice received from Electrolux for callout fee. Contacted 23nds world on 05 Jul 17 to chase up Installer to install correctly and deal with tax invoice. Installer attended and installed correctly. On 20 Jul receive AUTHORITY TO COLLECT from credit agency re outstanding invoice.

Extended warranty?????????? Not worth the extra money
Moved into newly built house 2 years ago and previous owners had spent $9600 in new house appliances all with extended warranty from 2nds world Caringbah. Previous owner gave us the original invoices as all appliances are still under warranty until November. Dishwasher has error log and manufacturer advised that a technician must service the machine, so I contacted extended warranty company. They have no record of any purchases on both invoices (shouldn't be my problem - thanks 2nds world Caringbah!) and so I sent them a copy of the invoices sh...Read more
owing full payment details. They advised that it will take 2 days for them to load/create file and then they will call. Waited 48 business hours and no call received so I called them. Extended warranty advised they'd received my email and have contacted 2nds world Caringbah, but have no store confirmation of purchase at this point, so can't help me yet. Called again and customer service advised that as I'm not the original purchaser on the invoice that they cannot help me and shouldn't even be talking to me. If I want extended warranty to help, I must track down the previous house owners and have them send an email to confirm transfer of all appliances on invoice warranties. Obviously not going to happen!!! I advised that I wouldn't have the invoices if the previous owner didn't give them to me and that I can provide a copy of the contract of sale of house as further confirmation. Customer care said "sorry but they couldn't help". I advised it was a cheap cop out, to get out of paying for the dishwasher service and again received "sorry but they can't help. Have called a dishwasher repair company who will be out tomorrow to fix it. Wouldn't touch 2nds world Caringbah or 2nds world extended warranty ever again!!!! The store doesn't like dealing directly with the warranty company and visa versa. If it was a small appliance or not valuable it may be ok, but to spend so much money, they're obviously all having a good laugh out our expense. Be very wary!!!!Similar opinion? ta until 13 Jun saying it would be delivered. So, the negatives are the item really wasn't ready for immediate dispatch, and as a result, it wasn't sent or picked up until later in the week, by which time a Monday public holiday would now further delay things. I've had items send further send much faster and arrived earlier by people on eBay, so it's possible for a bigger business to. On a positive note, the item appears to have arrived in good order and is a great price.1 comment

Unbelievable service and delivery time
Bought a new washing machine (as ours died just in time for the weekend ) through the online website.
Bought the machine at 1.58pm Thursday and the machine was delivered and installed at 3.10pm. I did pay for the express delivery and was not disappointed. Great communication from the moment the order was received with an email, text and a phone call from the 2nds World staff, and then another call from the courier saying he was 10 minutes away. Well done I will be back!!

False Advertising, cheating & Dodgy practices
For the past 5 years I have been a happy customer but it all changed.
On 16th May 2017 during the click frenzy sale I purchased a Samsung 65" TV for $1528.20 from 2nds World which was advertised online, at the time it read SHORT WAIT - Awaiting delivery to our warehouse.
On 17th May I get an email that "This email is to update you that we are awaiting delivery from the manufacturer of the MODEL which you have ordered from us."
Please allow 7-10 working days for the stock to reach our warehouse.
On 18th May 2017 they email me saying ...Read more
TV is no longer being ordered from Samsung, while other retailers including Samsung still continue to sell them. Now the click frenzy sale is over and to buy the exact same TV elsewhere it will cost $1995, (on 16th may during the sale I could have bought it from either good guys, JB hifi or Harvey Norman for approximately $1750. So my refund of $1528 is now worthless to replace the exact same product. I offered to upgrade to a same series 70" Samsung TV with paying additional fee of $358.65 which is 50% of total upgrade cost $717.30.3 comments

age with this model and don't have any more. I'm not sure where you saw Samsung sell this TV as they don't sell TVs directly. I'm also not sure why you think we tried to trick you or other consumers to buy from us with no intention to fulfill orders. Our offer was across all products, not just this one product. We offered you the click frenzy deal for any other TV instead but couldn't agree to your suggestion of paying half the difference of the much more expensive 70" model. We are sorry you feel this way but I can assure you we are as upset with this outcome as you are. We had orders in place but had them cancelled on us. This was not intentional or foreseeable. We are still happy to honour the click frenzy offer for you as previously expressed in emails. Again, our apologies for this inconvenience.Hi to help me prove your honesty can you please post a communication from Samsung advising you that it cannot supply this TV

Talk to Harvey Norman Customer Care. They bought 2nd World; https://www.channelnews.com.au/breaking-news-gerry-harvey-buys-2nds-world/.
If not resolved, then escalate it to Fair Trading and they can guide you the proper way: https://www.fairtrading.nsw.gov.au/help-centre/online-tools/make-a-complaint
Hope it helps!
Do update us if it is resolved and how.

I purchased a Samsung 470L top mount fridge in September 2017. It was sold to me as a factory second on the basis of minor dints on the side. This is reflected on the code on the receipt. A couple if months ago it started freezing food and linwood in the fridge, even in the lowest setting. I called Samsung servicing who asked me for the serial number. I checked the crushed and found that it had been scratched off. In two places. Samsung told me it was a refurbished model and without the serial number they could not validate the warranty. At no time did 2nds world tell me I was buying a refurbished fridge without a warranty. Obviously I would not have gone ahead with the sale. Samsung could not assist me and referred me to Sydney Appliance Centre who have quoted me between $500 and $600 for repair. I am not going to pay this for a fridge that I am not confident will ever be in good working condition given yhsf it was sold to me as faulty. So 2nds world I have no other option than purchasing a new fridge barely two years after purchasing one that I expected would last me a good few years. I am angry that I was misled and ripped off. And it seems there is no recourse. The 2nds world website does not even have any links on it. I cannot find a customer service number anywhere. So 2nds world, what are you going to do to help me?
