I was amazed at the service and speed repairs of our motor vehicle claim.
We phoned in our claim & the car was booked into the Smart centre at Holden Hill S.A. FOR 8.30AM on Wednesday and the friendly staff attended to our claim. We were told subject to parts availability it would be ready by Friday. Later in the day at 4PM I received a call to tell me the car was ready. At first I was unsure if they had phoned the wrong client but to my amazement our car's front bumper was replaced painted and ready.A car was despatched to pick me up to collect our car. Many thanks to all at APIA your claims process really works and...Read more
I will be happy to recommend to all our friends. It is a worry free process with friendly staff on the phone at claims and in the workshop to handle the repair.b I was extremely nappy with all stages of the process that worked entirely to our satisfaction.

Do not use this insurer.
10 days to get an assessment and possibly a month to get back on the road ( still waiting). Not a big bingle - damage from low impact collision. Would not allow me to use my preferred repairer. They are connected to AAMI and GIO.
I would not recommend them under any circumstances.

So far, so good.
We have home/contents, caravan, and car. One current claim in for ceiling flood damage. Lost claim for 6 weeks, but back on track after second assessment of root cause (my suggestion). Caravan claim last year. Good repairer, my fault, small damage. They did ring and say repairs are authorized - told them that's good because van already repaired and back home! Now the latest. Vehicle accident. Stopped for Ambulance guy behind did not. 1990 Merc in near pristine condition totalled.Rang that night 5.00pm, guy was brilliant and enthusiastic. Claim do...Read more
ne over phone, time booked in for assessment in Adelaide. AAMI building! Yes now i know! Anyway, girls helpful, manager good, said it would probably be write off because of cost vs value. Waited a few days assessor confirmed it was a write off and would research value. Few days later advised of figure which was good and allows me to replace car with similar if i can find one.Still waiting for pay out cheque. Been 2 weeks so far, promised will be in 2 weeks. While waiting checking other companies quotes. APIA looks way too expensive. Great Service Waiting for pay out. Compare premiums before.

Fast, helpful service, quick pay-out
Our car was damaged by hail- extensive but not deep dents. I wasn't even going to check on insurance because I thought it would all be 'too hard'.
We rang Apia who asked for the $500 excess up front, and booked us in for an assessment the following week - was dubious about paying up front, but thought we may as well take the car to see if it was worth going ahead with. They did say 'no personal items in the car' but I thought they just meant valuables if we left it.
The hail assessment place was huge- lots of different insurance companies...Read more
- and the assessor decided it was a write-off as it was only insured for $8,000. I got a huge shock and was upset, but the staff were so nice- explained my options, offered me water etc, didn't rush us. They sent us home in a taxi (their cost) and the $ was in our account 2 days later. We had 'agreed value' on the car since our last renewal- the agent we spoke to at Apia strongly recommended it- and we were so glad we'd followed her advice. So although I miss my little car, I can't fault Apia's handling of our case, and in fact financially we are better off with the $8,000 (less $500 excess) than with an 8-year-old car worth only a few thousand (less with all the hail damage). Good staff, efficient, saved us moneySimilar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Excellent
I am well past my three score and ten years, so have had dealings with a lot of insurance companies in my time. I can honestly say APIA is by far the best for friendly service, no hassle claims and affordable premiums.
I now have all my insurance needs covered by APIA.
Where do I start? There are so many aspects of APIA car insurance to rave about. Like all the products from APIA, they are friendly! Pay by the month, hassle free claims, affordable premiums and lifetime guarantee on workmanship and parts. I wouldn't deal with anyone else.
I can't think of anything. In all the time I have been with APIA I have nothing but praise for them

After your car is repaired and you cancell the policy does the life time guarantee still apply if you are still the owner of the car and you go to a different company

"Life", in English, may refer to the life of the car, OR your lifetime, [perhaps another 50 years]? They should not cancel it while you are still alive. To stop the "lazy tax" [people who are too lazy to check competitors prices] we should check prices AND what the coverage is, every year or two [plus the star ratings on Product Review].
Hi Rick to be honest mate I'm so pissed with this company I actually dont care anymore even now two WEEKS after the accident I still dont have my car back but for sure I'll NEVER go back with them again the only good thing thats come out of this is the bad publicity they've gave themselves, just beggars belief aye ?

Didn’t know that’s one of reasons I left APIA
Try contacting Consumer Affairs & I think there is an Insurance Ombudsman who will act if they ignore your written requests. The manager may have gone off "sick" [due to "overwork"!] Request his underlings help you, & refer them to this widely read product review site, which is giving them even more bad reviews, & losing them LOTS of business!
Thanks Paul so disgusted with the level of unacceptable service I WILL be cancelling my policy I dont need a company that treats its customers in such a bad way, thanks for your reply mate its very much appreciated and a whole lot more than APIA did.....

Accidentally broke my back window today. It's going to cost me $375.00 how much can I claim for? [Name and Number Removed] Thank you.

The insurance co. will tell you. Why dont you ASK them? I believe you can claim the full amount, LESS any excess YOU have chosen.
