Excellent product and very portable
We have recently returned back from a trip to top end with my partner and our four children. I have an ArkPak AP730 with a Century 120 ah AGM. We have a ARB 78LT fridge-freezer which we ran from the ArkPak via the Anderson connection and had the ArkPak plugged into the Colorado 7 while on the road. I also purchased the mounting kit to securely hold it in position while travelling. The ARB would run for 2-3 days on the ArkPak without any additional charging when we were camped, and if we were camping in area for more then a few days I'd hook up ...Read more
our 200 watt solar panels and charge the arkpak either via anderson plug or battery connections. My children also kept their ipad and ipods charged via the arkpak we not once looked liked we'd run out of power. We were also camped on murray river in vic for 8 days running the ARB 78LT fridge-freezer 24-7, charging the childrens various electronic items, using it to run our led lighting strip light's at night and to charge my two Fenix CL30R lanterns and only charged via solar panels during the day time and we had power the whole period of time not once was i concerned that I'd have to charge it via alternative way. I'm very impressed. I haven't blown any fuses or had any charging issues that other's have described as yet. And will update my review accordingly if i do.Similar opinion? Ark Pak AP730 thumbs up from me
Hi All, just wanted to let everyone know that for me the Ark Pak has been great no problem keeping my engel cold, charging up phones and LED lights at night i can easily get 4.5 to 5 days use without putting power back into using a 130 Amp AGM battery, had to ring several times for support in terms of using it correctly and found support staff great, so a thumbs up from me, i know everyone has a different experience so i thought i would share mine

Rubbish
Never worked. Charge's ok but no power from inverter, USB or lighter sockets. Problem with isolator switch, ArkPac suggest turning switch on & off a few times, didn't fix it. Seriously that remedy says everything. Bunnings no longer stock it because they had so many returns. DON"T WASTE YOUR TIME.

Buy a car battery & solar panels would work better!
Very disappointed! After the salesman convinced me to buy the best product on the market that would charge almost anything except a blow dryer or straightener. I went camping with friends and thank heavens for that! The ark kept blowing fuses whilst charging only mobile phones or iPods, lucky the guys had spare fuses so we could run lights at night and blow more fuses the next day when trying to charge the mobile phones for emergency.
When we came back I took it back to BCF which they told me that they would only exchange the ark system only o...Read more
nce! I thought why the need to say that? And after realised it must be a regular occorrance to feel the need to warn me. The second time with the new system, again the same of the continual blowing of fuses. I have taken the ark system back to BCF and left to test the system overnight. The next day they called me to say nothing is wrong with the system however they gave a box of fuses as a gift! I am very frustrated with a product I have only used a couple of times that paid around $500 dollars and then have to buy a deep cycle battery to make the system work. I would not recommend anyone to purchase the ark system and say to buy a battery instead with solar panels to charge on lengthy camping trips or buy a generator and charge anything real quick. Hope this helps to not waste your money on this system! Beth

Gives me power everywhere
I bought an Arkpak after much research. It is now nearly two yrs old. It has its niggles, There was a time when it wouldn't charge off the mains. Don't know why, but for about three days it wouldn't charge. Then suddenly one morning I tried again and it started charging again. When travelling we charge it via the anderson plug off the main battery and that works beautifully as it takes less than an hour to charge from as low as 45%. However, I don't trust the the readings all the time. My 100amp agm battery is as old as the arkpak, but drains ...Read more
really quickly and that is just having the Evakool 55l fridgemate running on number 5 or 6. I get about 24hrs out of the battery. The usb port didn't last long, but I just use the inverter plug with usb's as I would have at home. The readings do change all the time so not sure how true it is. I can further say, that we camp only bush/sea/off road. Our arkpak is filthy and has taken quite a beating, but it still works fine. When stationary i popped the solar panels on with the aligator clamps. If I had to buy again, I will buy a cheaper box without the inverter as we hardly ever use it. I would rather just have a lot of 12v ciggy ports and two anderson plugs and some indication of battery level. What more do you need!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Unreliable
I purchased the ArkPak 730 (black handles) 3 months ago. It broke down on the first camp trip. It kept blowing internal fuses and was replaced under warranty. Ruined our trip as we had no fridge. 2nd camp trip it worked fine. I'm getting it ready for its 3rd trip and now it won't charge off the mains power. ArkPak are replacing the mains adapter charger. I have little confidence left in this item.

Does the job
My Arkpak is now a year old. We take it away on weekends about once a month to a house with no mains power connected. We plug the Arkpak into the fusebox and power lights, bathroom exhaust fan, TV+playstation and charge phones, ipods and dvd players. It gets carted around in the trailer most of the time. We use a 120 Amp hour AGM battery which makes it heavy but still portable. We now have a generator to keep it topped up on longer stays or heavy demands. I also use it to maintain a lead acid battery in a car that doesn't get used much. Its a b...Read more
it annoying that it asks if you've put in a different battery (AGM/Lead acid etc) but the new models don't. I have had to replace a fuse once when I was testing to see what it could power and went too far but apart from that I have no problems using or charging it. Brett from Ark was also helpful in setting it up to charge the car battery. I am really happy with my "silent" generator. Bought it from BCF Cannington in Perth and it came with a USB LED light (excellent) and a USB charge stick (useless). It only has a 150W inverter for the 240V outlet compared to the newer model's 300W but it's not a problem for what we use it for.2 comments
Update: My 620 stopped charging but it wasnt the AC cord. Sent it to Arkcorp for repair and it worked again. Then not much longer it stopped charging again. Instead of sending for repairs I just bough... Read more

715 Ark Pak blowing fuses
Would be a handy unit if it was reliable. You would think they could get it right by now. Went through 2 of these as they would start blowing fuses in the vehicle and not charge off the mains after approx 3 months?? Saw this in another review and wasn't surprised.
Gave up on them after 2nd return and steered well clear of these products. So much wasted time and frustration!

Great Product, Appaling Support
I purchased an ArkPak AP730 and had issues within 3-4 months of purchase.
It's had a fairly "cushy" life in the back of the Land Rover Discovery 3... Nothing Hard.
Wasn't charging with the DC to DC or AC to DC Chargers. Return Unit to Ark Directly via Courier with the 2 x Chargers (as I wanted it handled ASAP rather than relying on BCF etc.. to return the unit) and called them a couple of times during the next week to ensure it was repaired promptly.
They advised they were waiting on some Capacitors to repair my unit, and it shipped the ...Read more
Next Friday as they stated they needed to complete an exhaustive 24 hour testing process before getting the unit to me. (about 1-1.5 weeks repair time). I got the unit back... Plugged the Battery back in... DC-DC Charger not working with Blown Fuse (Replaced Fuse working ok... obviously didn't test that one in the "Exhaustive Testing Stage". Anderson Plug and Inverter not working (Guess the Exhaustive Testing stage is plugging the unit into their own power cords... and perhaps plugging in a Cigarette Lighter socket in... or perhaps nothing at all).Similar opinion? Great toy whilst it worked
Great little device for camping allowing flexibility for various different styles of camping from tenting through the caravan.
Worked like a treat for the first 10 months then started having problems with the electronic screen output. I approached Ark within the warranty period and now that the issue still exists after warranty has lapsed Ark are requesting payment to resolve the issue.
As much as the arkpak is great I would now recommend purchasing a simpler unit of ebay. At least fleabay sellers generally honour their warranty. And if they dont at least you havent outlayed $350 for a defective unit.

Power to the people
We have recently returned home from a trip to NSW with the wife in our caravan. I have an ArkPak with an Exide 105amp AGM as used in R&D by Ark Corp. We have a new Waeco CFX65DZ which we ran from the ArkPak via the 12v and had the ArkPak plugged into our Isuzu D Max whilst driving but over night I plugged the ArkPak into 240v from the caravan to avoid the possibility of flattening the tug battery. I didn't have any problem and 1 day even had the Waeco plugged into the 240v on the ArkPak while we drove along to see if there was any difference. I...Read more
t didn't appear to make any difference. Also the Waeco would run for 2 days on the ArkPak alone without any additional charging when we were free camped. I am most impressed. Hope that this helps you. Convenience and easy to use. It wasn't invented years ago.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Update to my "Unreliable" review.
solar panel but not the power supply. Arkcorp have asked me to courier it back to them. My original transaction was with BCF so I took it back to them and asked them to do the right thing and replace it. They did, so credit to them. I just got back from a week away and it worked fine. Reliabilty: 0 confidence.Mains power supply replaced after Arkcorp tech diagnosed it over the phone. Guess what ? Still doesn't work, it's not the power supply. I can still charge it off my ...
