One number for all post offices in Australia... what a joke
There was a delivery issue with an item coming from my internet service provider, where the item was accidentally addressed to my old address - not sure why - all I needed was to contact the suburb Post Office it was delivered in to see if it was dropped off there. One number for all AusPost offices. Probably the most useless call service I've ever had to deal with. Inputting tracking numbers is a joke.
How is there not an option to contact a local post office without having to go through all that rubbish, just for the automated services to tell you to go online and sort it out.
Absolute joke of a service. I'd give zero stars if it were possible.

Very quick service
Recently applied my son's passport, Bradbury post office processed then received the passport well before the expected date of delivery. The delivery postie came at the door to deliver the item. He didn't ask to sign I understand due to COVID-19 touch avoidance.

shocking customer service
I have parcel that shows it has been sitting in a Brisbane facility since April 29th 2020. The Sender estimated delivery latest May 7th. I waited but then lodged an official complaint on May 13th upon which I received an automated response but nothing since then! I had one parcel 'disappeared' which I let go as I assumed it could have been taken but since then stuck a note on my mailbox requesting the postman to sound his horn when delivering a parcel to avoid future incidents. cels which were incredibly late too. Before the issue was resolved I thankfully received it prior to receive and outcome to my complaint. All parcels were mailed PRIOR to the corona virus. Parcel in question has arrived in Australia on the Senders scheduled time so the issue has to be local! How can a small parcel sit in a sorting facility as of today short of 3 weeks! Come on Australia Post pull up your socks this is not the way to treat your customers. Not even worth a rating.

Depends where you go
I find the post office at Charlestown NSW is fantastic and always suggests the most economic means, whereas my local PO at Belmont, couldn’t care less and my post is always late with Belmont!?

Usually excellent
In our local area of Hornsby, 8 times out of 10 the staff at all our local post offices are fantastic. Every office is willing to help pick the best way to ship an item to someone, for the best value. Every now and again I seem to know better than the staff member, but rarely in my area.

The most ridiculous experience ever
I went to Australian Post Watergardens office to do an ID verification, the first time counter staff told me although the document stated Visa card is an acceptable secondary ID apart from my passport, it cannot be accepted because there is a space in between my first name. I explained to him to check my passport it has two characters in my first name so when it translate into English the space in between is normal, but "No" it's totally unacceptable only because of that space. Then the second time I brought another ID to go through the same thing again, after verifying the required IDs the old lady told me since the IDs does not have address on them so it doesn't count (There are no such requirements stated on the document). I double checked with her that there has been a suburb name and post code change of my address, is that ok if I bring back a bank statement with that address and she said to me that everyone knows about that change so it's ok. The the third time I brought a bank statement along with all the IDs to go through the same process again but it's another person this time, and she told me no way, the suburb name and post code is not the same, I explained to her that last time I confirmed with that old lady that it's ok since this change was well known, but it's not ok with her this time. I was so frustrated and asked to speak to her manager and after a while at the back the manager came out does not want to listen to anything that I have to say but to point out that it's my mistake did not change the details with the bank. I tried to reason with her to point out the fact that most of the systems still cannot pick up the new suburb name and post code yet but she wouldn't want to listen to my explaination. Because of my mental depression condition I might have raised my voice in the end and the manager told me I was refused to get any serive in this post office. What's wrong with these people, I went to the same counter three times for such a simple thing but it cannot be done. I'm still struggling to get over this mentally and would really hope to get some advice. I only want to be treated fairly. Can they treat people like this or are they too racist.1 comment

Delivery hopeless
I have had repeated problems with Australia Post over a number of years as have adjacent businesses near me. No matter how many times we ask the postman to Jetty Road Largs Bay to leave a card when the shop is unattended he would just leave parcels in what he thought a safe place. A sign on the door fixed the problem for a while but now with Corona Virus my partners business next door to my own is shut and once again the postman is leaving items visible and unattended at my property. The Aust Post cost of Covid19
Due to Covid -19 and the federal government's social distancing recommendations my disabled aged pensioner mother and I elected (after a week's deliberation) to redirect our mail from our PO Box as the extremely narrow (doorway width) enclosed space makes social distancing impossible.

After discussions with two Aust Post employees I was called by #.#. who stated that they were a National Manager who stated that they had put up signs telling users of the PO Box enclosed space to practice social distancing and that the onus was on the users not Aust Post. When I stated that my mother was in a high risk group and that this was a social and OH&S issue that Aust Post needed to take responsibility for by way of providing a refund #.#. stated that it "aint gona happen mate" at this point I asked if our conversation was being recorded (it was) and to speak to his manager, #.#. refused and said I could write to the CEO when I raised the fact that he had a superior. I find the behavior of Aust Post and #.#. in this instance to be distressing and offensive. Our local Australia Post office has well trained and polite staff. I make an effort to go on either a Monday or Friday as they have an elderly volunteer who loves a chat whilst he is servicing his client. It is refreshing to have confidence with their sales team and a pleasure to feel that I am not rushed.

A convenient place to pay bills
I use the post office at Westfield Marion. It is usually busy but they have enough staff so you don’t have to wait too long. The staff are friendly and polite. I like to pay each bill individually and have the receipt stapled to the bill. This takes longer as I pay 5 bills at a time and the staff don’t mind doing this for me. It is a clean and attractive post office.

If you can go to the Australia Post web site you can submit a lost parcel report there. Don't expect much and you won't then be dissapointed. A shambles.

Hi Thomas, I've checked our internal tracking site and unable to see any further scan since 27th March. I'd advise you to raise this issue with the sender. The reason I'm requesting you to contact the sender is that the sender can provide us details like senders & receivers details on the parcel, postage paid; etc which are required to investigate further. Besides, if the investigation outcome indicates this parcel was lost in transit/damaged at the facility, the sender is the first party to claim for compensation.

I sent an A4 sized letter from the UK using international tracking. The letter arrived in Sydney on April 22 but the last notification is still saying Sydney awaiting clearance inbound after 4 days. Is this normal?

Hey Freddiec,
Without the tracking number I'm not able to advise much but based on that date it should arrive some time next week. The 22nd and 25th were public holidays here in Australia which would have delayed processing at border control. Once the item is handed over to us the scans will change to "processed at facility" and the item will be delivered a few days later.
If this hasn't been delivered by May 6th at the latest please contact the postal authority you sent this with so they can investigate further.

Border agencies say they passed it straight through to Australia Post as it was only an A4 sized envelope containing papers.Please start accepting responsibility for your employees and not blaming border agencies all the time.They would have no reason to hold letters.

When ever an item is handed over to us it it processed by our main sortation facility in that state.
After looking at the scans for this item I can see that we don't have any scans for this item being processed at any of our facilities yet so I recommend getting in touch with the sender about this so they can initiate that investigation with their postal authority.
