My new pots

published

This product is terrible we moved in to a rental property while we we building our house it had induction cook top..so I thought it was time to replace my 36 year old pots as we could'nt use them on induction cook top the sales person said they were fantastic pots so we brought the set after a few months the non stick surface started to peel off ..also the handles and lids get so hot you can't touch them with out using a tea towel disappointed ..should have kept my old copper bottoms! my daughter is now using my 36 year old pots they will most likely last another 30 plus years unlike these ones!!!!! We now have a gas cook top..so no need for these special pots!!!

The handles are hot after cooking cannot lift it off the stove. Once it has been washed in the dishwasher, the smell of the meal can still be smelt. I bought two pots & will not purchase another baccarat product again

Lid explosion.

published

I bought a baccarat ID3 pan. I used it every day until one afternoon sitting at the kitchen table we heard a huge noise, went looking for what it could be. It turned out to be the lid on the pan. It wasn't on the heat i wasn't cooking with it at all. Just all of a sudden the lid shattered into a million pieces. Imagine if I had been using it at the time. Would like to know how this sort of thing can happen.

Terrible brand Baccarat...

published

Total disappointment. I purchased two from House & they weren't cheap but hey I needed them for my new induction cooktop...used.
They don't work on Induction cooktops...false advertising! I returned them & demanded a refund! Better quality control needed!

Don't bother

published

I purchased 1 pan to see if it was good quality before I purchased the set.
Thank good I did, the pan I purchased was the large saucepan & it was surprise to be completely flat but it's not. It actually raises in the centre! I have always hand washed this pan & looked after it. Thank god I read the previous reviews as they are all correct! Would NEVER purchase another.

Dishwasher Safe?? - Not

published

I had a Baccarat griddle pan for a couple of years when I noticed that the stainless steel induction plate on the base was gone. It left the dish cloth black with carbon. It was replaced under warranty, but I was told not to wash it in the dishwasher even though it is advertised as being dishwasher safe. I wash my new griddle pan by hand but, when I was unwell on one occasion I put it in the dishwasher, only to find that the stainless steel induction plate was coming off again - after one wash. Not good enough Baccarat. My email to them didn't get any response. False advertising..

Rubbish

published

I had a set of non stick Baccarat saucepans bought as an Xmas present in 2014, so happy to get a new set as had my old cheapos for 15 years!
Within a couple of uses the non stick started coming off on top of the pans where lids fit. The inside of the lids where handles are collected gunk and not easy to clean. 15 months on and the non stick coming away from inside of the pans so now almost unusable!! My old cheap ones lasted 15 years wish I'd kept them.

A waste of money

published

I brought a set of baccarat saucepans and pots, well the stuff was peeling off, the screws have gone loose and you can't screw them back together. Robins kitchen are a different company now so there goes my guarantee, so very angry.

very slow to heat

published

Really disappointed, purchased these saucepans etc for our new induction cooktop very very slow to warm up, cooking has become very time consuming. So much for buying quality, the supermarket cheapies are better.

Warranty is rubbish

published

I bought ID3 6 piece set and loved it when I first started to use it. After a few months I noticed sort of paint peeling marks on both fry pans but others were ok. It was getting worse and then I spoke to company about warranty. They replied me that this cannot be claimed due to issue with cleaning. This is completely rubbish as all others are ok. Now I can't use them anymore. I am really disappoint and I wish I never purchased it.

Great saucepans, unless you have induction cooktops

published

I absolutely loved these saucepans, u til we loved into our new house with our induction cooktop. We specifically purchased this set because of the recommendation of the House staff.

While we finished renting for several months at our old house the saucepans were great, to the point we purchased several frypans and other saucepans. But now that we are using induction, it is slow to boil, meaning a recipe that used to take me 15 mins has now been "boiling" for 40 mins. Even the cooktop instruction manual says that if it is slow to boil, the cook wear isn't designed for induction. Very disappointed.

Id3 cookware claimed to be induction compatible - rubbish!

published

I bought an Id3 stir fry pan that is induction compatible. It feels like I'm using a slow cooker. I agree, it takes 10 mins to cook an egg. I've returned my pan and they told me it's my cooktop that's a problem! It's a scam!

Love the Gourmet Roasting pan, christened it with the Xmas Roast Pork

published

Just a suggestion re the packaging. There is nothing written on the packaging advising that the rubber feet should be removed prior to cooking. Yes, it probably should be an obvious act, but we were so busy with opening the xmas pressies, chatting with friends & family via Facebook/internet/phone etc AND imbibing xmas cheer, we cooked the rubber feet along with the delicious pork. Lucky it didn't affect the meat & we did get a big laugh over it. Looking forward to many more "Baccarat" roasts.

Absolutely Useless on Induction

Bought 2 Baccarat ID3 frypans. We thought something went wrong with the cooktop. It take 10 minutes to fry an egg. Our Scanlan Impact saucepans are lightning fast. Absolute rubbish.

20cm ID3 Frypan

published

Waste of money. Do not buy. The center is raised and when using oil it simply moves to the edges. Eggs as well move to be side rather than pooling in the center. Everything sticks. Have to soak to wash.

Love my Baccarat.

published

I love the risotto pan, although ironically I have never cooked risotto in it. I cook just about everything else in it though. Love that I can go from cooktop to oven and I have had it for over two years and it is still non stick and it is so easy to clean.

Baccarat frypans that stick well !!!

published

First time I had money to purchase expensive cookware and I purchased set of two frying pans, supposingly non stick. The food sticks harder than bitumen to a road. Very disappointed and let down. Always used cheap frypan non stick which actually work. So back to using Big W frypan well worth the $12 investment . Wish I had read reviews before purchase will definitely do it for everything in the future. Would NEVER recommend Baccarat

Don't buy. Absolute crap cookware.

published

I bought a sauté pan 6 months ago. All the non stick had come off. Told by the retailer that it was burnt on food and not under warranty. It's obviously the surface lifting off. Then was told by very rude retail staff that I had abused the pan by using it on too high heat. I thought I would be able to actually sauté in a sauté pan. They eventually agreed to email the manufacturer re warranty claim.

What oils can I use on my new Baccarat ID3 cookware I got for Christmas? Some of these reviews are really worrying me that my kids shouldn’t have brought your product !

According to the people in house you can’t use any spray oils or any oil on a high heat. Change the product if possible sorry to say

I have a 25cm pan. After cooking, the black coating on the rear of the pan has a powdery surface that wipes off when washing or drying and leaves horrible black "stuff" on the washcloth/tea towel. Is this normal???
Not using acidic oils or high heat.

Definitely not normal. Sounds to me as though the coating is coming off. I purchased a set of these pans about 18 months ago and use them on an induction cook top. The product is rubbish and certainly not fit for purpose.
most of my saucepans/frying pans are losing their non stick surface, one has distorted.

Other reviews I have read suggests that there are many other customers who have experience the same thing and it was even suggested to some of them that they should not be using Olive oil! How ridiculous is that and typical of the responses you will get from the manufacturer/retailers of this product.

I am gradually replacing mine with Raco or Waddell and Davies products, they are dearer but cook in half the time on an induction cooker at least and no issues with the non stick surfaces.

the other alternative is to buy something real cheap from Big or Safeway, they will last at least as long or longer than the Baccarat ID3. Probably not what you want to hear but this is my experience
