Staff very friendly and helpful!
Unfortunately, I didnt get to use the vehicle as intended, and simply drove it from the city branch to the airport!

-Great customer service: it was an experience to be helped by Kelly! We loved it. She is very cheerful and that made picking up the car a lovely start of our roadtrip.

Outstanding experience

published

We were extremely happy with all aspects of our car hire with Bargain Car Rentals from Darwin Airport. We arrived at 2 am and were thrilled to be able to drive away - no hassles. Great, late model car! We really appreciated having 250 km a day instead of the usual 100 km. You should book direct with them and not through another third party. Will definitely use them again!

Horrible experience - Fraud

Not full of fuel.

Car wasn’t full of fuel on pick up. Web site was misleading, pick up point not at airport. If you’ve got time up your sleeve the name says it all. Bargain doesn’t mean great.

BAD EXPERIENCE - WOULD NEVER USE AGAIN!

published

An overall unpleasant experience!
I was required to leave a $500 deposit because I had my own insurance and would not take up their insurance deal.
The car stunk of smoke and the interior was not clean. There were numerous exterior paint chips and scratches, but no damage list was supplied on pick up.
The customer service was not good, the man who handled my return drop off was intimidating and quite rude.
I had $1300 deducted from my credit card to fix a minuscule 5cm dent in door (no paint damage) because I had my own insurance.
I disputed the claim, but to no avail.
I would never use this company again.

Good service over the years.

I used Bargain at least a dozen times and always had friendly service and good rates. I find them a bit more flexible than the big players which suits our needs. I had particularly good service a couple of weeks ago when a chap helped us out with an issue.

Smooth Transaction

published

Kellie (Hobart CBD branch) was very helpful and welcoming! She provided us with tips around the state which was very helpful especially when it’s my first time in Tassie. The vehicle collected was the same as the one I had booked. The whole process was swift and smooth! Collecting a car hasn’t never been this easy. Would definitely engage Bargain Car Rentals again.

Well where do you start, Bargain car rentals Darwin - beware -

published

- Seriously be aware if even considering hiring from this mob. From the start driving down the Stuart Highway both my self which I had a 8 seater and my friend a sedan, we noticed mechanical issues with the cars from the outset as the sedan at speeds around 100km had a concerning shake to it - mine had A very soft steering or suspension feel. Absolutely shocking customer service when something was questioned due to a event of their equipment not working properly - when back at the Darwin city yard the customer service stank in terms getting heard fairly. Called and left messages with the manager multiple times and not once did I have a returned phone to discuss the situation.

Kellie in Hobart was great to deal with, friendly and helpful. The car was clean and tidy, drove well and had good tyres. There were no issues on returning the car.

I would recommend not using this service. The car was dirty, with a really hard to see through windscreen. The car was also damaged, which got worse just driving it, the front bumper was sagging down so would scrape on driveways and when parked near a gutter. Finding the place to return the car as well was difficult as not at the airport terminal but nearby and Google maps send you on a road you can't turn off to get to the street. Really not worth the hassle. It's cheap for a reason. And you have to get back to the airport another hour earlier to return the car as you then need to get a shuttle bus to the airport terminal.

Hi. I had no problems booking it was when we took the car back. Apex rentals are much better to deal with in NZ and usually have good deals. I don’t recommend bargain rental cars

Has anyone received an invoice for work done on the hire car? The company returned $230 of the $750 they took for a chip in the windscreen but I havent been given the invoice to get any money back from my travel insurance which included any excess for damages to my rental car. Thanks Ally

OMG! This exact thing is happening to me just now (Hobart Airport branch) - nearly exact same $$ figures as well.... I had to DEMAND evidence of anything - as I am certain no damage existed in the first place. They didn't even tell me before or after deducting money directly from my account (which I think is called stealing!) I finally received invoices after noticing the deduction and demanding them (which I haven't yet been able to open because I think they are corrupt files), but that doesn't necessarily constitute evidence or a damage report either.
