Disappointing service
We dealt with the Brisbane office, the vehicle I booked was what we got and that is about all the positives I can share. The staff were unable to answer any questions about T&Cs, the bond was withdrawn from my account despite my being told is wouldnt be, we had to deal with passive aggressive staff, I asked the same question about tolls to 3 different staff and got 3 different answers. They tried charging me extra for insurance and argued with me despite me showing them I had already purchased it online through the booking. It was unorganised and unprofessional. I will never use this service again and would not recommend it.

Disgusting customer service!
Van we hired was disgusting, not clean, lots of dents and scratches and filthy! 6 of our group left at the Gold Coast airport while 2 were taken to pick up the van (after confirmation stated it was airport pick up and drop off) called the Gold Coast office and the thing that answered the phone was disgusting and vile. She told me she would just cancel my booking even though it was already fully paid for and did not care less what happened to us! Absolutely wrecked the start of our holiday, i would never ever use this car rental company again. ...Read more
Spoke like a pig to another member of our group on the phone to get credit card details for the bond on the van as well. However lady that i spoke with in Tasmania was a delight to deal with very helpful.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Really bad
So car we rented was completly in Japanese. The whole pad next to the driver seat was in Japanese, so it wasn't possible to use it. Of course it wasn't possible to change the language to english. Then when the key didn't start the car anymore they were talking to us like we are silly and we told them, that we're trying to change the battery of the key. They got really rude and after some minutes they allowed us to go to a car mechanic or someone who can make us a new key. They will pay us the costs of it. Seems like they really take care about their customers

Terrible
Arrived on the GC and tried for 20 minutes to call the office for pick up with no response. Was called back by Eliza, who was so rude and aggressive on the phone only to inform me she was cancelling my car and charging me also as she didnt like my tone!
She then went on to send 8 harassing txt messages to my personal phone calling me an idiot and other disgusting comments. Eliza is the manager.. I can not believe what happened and she is in charge of this business.
Ruined the start of our holiday. Thank god Avis were on hand and we hired from them.. Im glad we didnt use this company after reading the reviews.

Very pleasant
Kellie at the Hobart was fantastic and gave us some great advice on our trip.
Car was nice and clean hard to tell when we picked it because it was overcast and drizzling with rain but the interior was very clean

Very professional company and I will use them again,
, They went out of their way to help me out and the vehicle I got was better than I booked. I use for my business trip and I took full insurance to give myself piece of mind. It was pleasure dealing with bArgain car rentals in Melbourne.

Review of Kelly and her service.
Kelly was courteous and informative, accurate in her presentation of the terms. Kelly was friendly. She went above the call of duty and sent us some tips on local attractions.

Hobart Staff Member Angel - an absolute credit to the company
I hired a car from Bargain this week and found the level of service provided by Hobart staff member, Angel above and beyond. Angel when out of her way to assist and is an absolute credit to the company.

FRAUDS.
I booked my Car through Airport Rentals and paid for Insurance when making the Booking. The Girl at Bargain asked me to upgrade my insurance which I declined. After I returned the Car and received no receipt, I discovered on my Credit Card Bill that I have been charged again for the Insurance. Complained and they advised that I requested Insurance when picking up the Car. Thats an outright lie. Do not de business with this Company as they are untrustworthy.

Good value for money and helpful staff
Great. I dealt with a lady at the counter who was fantastic, the car was fine. At the end of the trip I mistakenly left a pair of glasses in the car. Staff were fantastic, ringing me to help retrieve them.

Disadvantaged by car not having a full tank of petrol at time of hire.
Staff were excellent to deal with and all went well with the car on our travels. The only complaint we have is that when we picked the car up in Hobart the tank was not full because the person who had the car before us had returned it with less than a full tank of petrol. This meant that we lost out as it was difficult for us to gauge the amount to fill the car before returning it at Launceston .

Terrible slow and disorganised service
When we arrived in to the airport the system was down. There were two staffs one of them chatting away with the customer and the other taking a long time to serve the customers prolonging the queue even longer. We waited for one and half hour or more just for the car key, very bad service and would not recommend to anyone

Although we were earlier then our booking stated we were still helped in a timely and friendly manner. Kellie Coy was very friendly and helpful explaining all about the car and conditions of hire.

Not cheap
Called and waited 45 minutes at Melbourne airport to not be picked up before getting onto them after they did not answer 7 other phone calls to be told they would be another 15 minutes to pick me up. I caught a taxi to there location. No apologies or customer service. The car was half full and I was unable to inspect because it was dark and raining. Avoid them. Disappointed to say the least about the experience.

Booked a kia carnival or hyundai imax (7-8 seater) about 2-3 months ago to be picked up on Hobart Airport on the 5/10/2019 at 4:15 pm. So, arrived at the airport at 3:30pm, can been told the car is N/A. NOT FREAKING AVAILABLE. Are you kidding me?
Then, i was told to wait, no given waiting duration whatsoever. Then, officer decided to call the customer who is still having the car. Well, long story short. i was given a 5 seater small suv and i have given Bargain Car rentals the option to come back and pick up the car next morning. (im trying to...Read more
be nice) I brought the car back to airport bargain car rental's the next morning. I had to get the wife and kids to wait in the car due to the extreme weather, raining and windy. Then, after some paper work the car was brought over by the staff and parked on the disabled car park slot next to avis parking bay. so the staff INSISTED that i couldn't drive the car to the nearer or spot nearer to the 7 seater car. the staff is freaking rude and yet they could park the car at the disabled car park. i mean i just wanted to get wife to the shaded area without being rained on, and easier for us to transfer the stuff/luggage between car. and when i questioned the staff about why could you guys use the car park at the disabled slot, they said everyone could use it, and threaten me " no more question or I will cancel the booking. Wonderful staff and freaking amazing service!!!!!! Please stay away! You are risking the whole trip using booking on them!Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!
KEEP AWAY!! POTENTIALLY FRAUDULENT BUSINESS...
Apart from the fact that their Brisbane Airport depot is impossible to find when returning a vehicle (I did offer constructive feedback re how to improve their instructions but this was brushed off...) you need to be aware that they actually take a AUD$500 deposit. Unlike other rental car companies that scan your credit card, Bargain take the $500 at the same time that you take the car. In my case - for a July hire - it is now October - I am still awaiting the AUD$500 to be refunded. Despite requesting several times and their coming up with dif...Read more
ferent excuses - including trying to blame the bank - my deposit has still not been refunded. I now suspect a scam and will be filing a complaint with the Financial Crime Taskforce as this smells like fraud to me! Note that at this stage it is just an allegation...time will tell.Similar opinion? Write a review on ieatwords.com.au!

Hi. I had no problems booking it was when we took the car back. Apex rentals are much better to deal with in NZ and usually have good deals. I don’t recommend bargain rental cars

Has anyone received an invoice for work done on the hire car? The company returned $230 of the $750 they took for a chip in the windscreen but I havent been given the invoice to get any money back from my travel insurance which included any excess for damages to my rental car. Thanks Ally

We never even got a car so cant help
OMG! This exact thing is happening to me just now (Hobart Airport branch) - nearly exact same $$ figures as well.... I had to DEMAND evidence of anything - as I am certain no damage existed in the first place. They didn't even tell me before or after deducting money directly from my account (which I think is called stealing!) I finally received invoices after noticing the deduction and demanding them (which I haven't yet been able to open because I think they are corrupt files), but that doesn't necessarily constitute evidence or a damage report either.
