Terrible customer service
I went into the Beacon Showroom at West Gosford today and I walked around the entire Showroom without being acknowledged by any of the staff. There were 4 staff members on and there was myself and another couple in the Showroom. I walked straight past 2 of the staff and they did not greet me or offer any assistance. I felt like I was intruding. I was keen to purchase the big chandelier that was in the window but I refuse to spend money in a store that treat their customers that way. I think some training in customer service might be needed.

Very poor response from Beacon even when fault was actually with their instruction manual!!!
Two ceiling fans purchased from Beacon store and installed by reputable electrician.
Problem was the switch for one upstairs was also turning on the downstairs fan.
So I called electrician back. He again followed manual precisely a number of times. No change. He called Beacon and was told the manual was wrong and he needed to hold down a button for at least 30sec and NOT the 5sec in manual. Great Customer Service at Marsden Park Store
I would like to commend Kiano who assisted me at the store. He was very knowledgeable of their products and patiently explained to me all the pros and cons for each type of ceiling fan and light fitting I was looking for. All my queries were answered and also gave me advises on which is most suitable for my needs. Since the items were bulky, he even offered to assist me on carrying some of it to my car. That's what you call an excellent customer service. Overall experience was great, and I will surely recommend their Marsden Park store!
Since I am currently building a house and haven't installed the items yet, I just hope I don't experience any quality or warranty issues as what I have read from other reviews here.

Expensive fans very noisey on high speed.
We bought 2 of the most expensive fans available in the size and style we wanted and 4 in the slightly cheaper option (that we had in our last house and the 4 cheaper option are heaps quieter.

Can’t trust if a product is marked as ‘In ‘Stock’
I was looking for a ceiling fan online yesterday and found one that was in stock in the Pymble branch. I ordered it and selected to pay in store. When I went to collect and pay they said it would only be available in May. A bit random.... and they told me I should have read the information on the screen!!!!!! If a product is marked as in stock in a particular store, I assume that it is IN STOCK. I wasted my time and have bought elsewhere. I won’t be purchasing at Beacon again.

Expensive lights arrived scratched
Very expensive Lights arrived in a scratched and terrible condition. The products will be impossible to fix as each individual piece is scratched badly. We are already feeling pushed aside. I hope beacon follow their own code of conduct section 7. Commitment to customers stating “With this in mind, we strive to ensure our customer’s expectations are not only met, but exceeded”. ... let’s just wait and see I’m waiting in hope they will be ethical in this process.

Lessons on how not to provide customer service
Still under warranty, we had arranged for a Beacon electrician to come and have a look at a ceiling fan we had installed in February 2022. The ceiling fan was making a clicking noise. The installation was by a Beacon electrician. We had booked the electrician for Friday 5th April. We were advised the electrician would arrive between 8:00 am and 10:00 am. We were told that as we were the first job, the electrician would likely arrive by 8:00 am.

Poor quality
I bought a light fitting. It didn’t hang true. I had to wait quite a while for the warranty people to fix, but was pleased with the result. However when the globe they sold me failed after around one months use I was not impressed. This was the straw that broke the camel’s back.

4 months to get replacement for failed lights
After purchasing 3 lovely pendant lights in 2017 we were disappointed they all failed within 12 months. The 2nd set failed within 6 months. We made our 2nd online claim in Nov 2018. It is now the 4th April 2022 and after much frustration, failed return of calls and emails, I have booked an electrician next week. Be warned, as good as the store may be, if you have any need to deal with the Warranty Dept it will be long arduous.

Disgusting service
Went to beacon lighting Noarlunga SA to buy some pendant lights. Older lady working in store after ten minutes of me standing in store, still did not greet me or ask if I needed help. So, i went up to her to ask for help and she snarled at me, and was answering my questions so rudely that I just walked out. Don’t think employees like that will make you much money. I was going to spend a lot of money but would prefer to spend my money elsewhere.

Feel very ripped off.
We spent over $800 on 2 ceiling fans. The upstairs fan makes a ticking noise....not good at night!!! When I asked for a warranty visit in mid January, I was told I need to video the fan. I did this & sent it in mid February.....no reply. Re-emailed mid March...still no reply. Wish I had read the reviews before purchasing expensive fans.

Terrible service
We went to Beacon in Joondalup to buy a new ballast for one of our fluorescent lights that stopped working. Were told they do not have any in stock, but they can get some from the warehouse, should be here in a couple of days. One month later, we still have not received our item. Went to Beacon a week ago to inquire and was told the container containing the ballust arrived the day before, but it has not been unpacked yet. How much longer Beacon?

Appalling customer service for warranty claims
I purchased a ceiling fan with light and remote control (Lucci brand), in January and had it installed by a Beacon preferred electrician. Within an hour it had stopped working. I called the electrician back and a week later they checked on it and said it was faulty. I put in an online claim with the electrician with all the relevant details. That was on Feb 1st. It is now 6 weeks later and still

So very disappointed!
Purchased 3 Ceiling Fans from Beacon Lighting in early January this year. One of these being a Moonah Ceiling Fan with Light. This fan's light flickers on when other lights in house are switched on and off. Electrician (recommended by local Beacon Lighting Store) who installed the fans has returned several times to check fan and wiring, however unable to find any obvious issues with either. ssue does not occur, so appears to be fan-related. Changed channel on remote also. Checked house wiring but also could not find any issues here. After many unanswered calls to Beacon Lighting Warranty Dept, in-store visit with Manager and numerous emails to the Warranty Dept (with extremely delayed responses or no responses at all), a Beacon Lighting electrician was sent out after almost month and he too could not find any issues, however said that this model of fan was possibly a very sensitive fan that may be picking up on surrounding current. Suggested to request from Warranty Dept, to try a fan with a globe instead of LED to try to see if it was just that fan model with this issue in our house. He messaged this Dept directly and I also emailed this request and stated that the issue still remains. I received a phone call over one week ago from Warranties, stating that this issue seemed to have been resolved and was there anything further? After explaining the situation yet again, the girl said she would refer the ongoing issue to their Head (Electrician?) and someone would be back in contact with me. Am still waiting for a further response. This Moonah Ceiling fan with Light is located in my daughter's bedroom, who has been struggling to get to sleep at night with this light flickering on and off. Hence she is tired and her school work is beginning to suffer. So very disappointed with Beacon Lighting as thought they had a reasonable reputation. However, while the store manager has tried assisting us, the Warranty Department has not been overly helpful - especially in relation to their communication. It states on emails "due to seasonally high enquiries, a member of the warranty team will contact you within 5 business days." I have not once had a response in this time frame in the many times I have contacted the Department. I would like this issue rectified so we are able to please get on with our lives.2 comments

Warranties finally got in touch with me the same day as receiving your above reply. We have chosen another fan to replace our existing fan and are now awaiting on Warranties to arrange installation. Hopeful it will not take as long as previously.

Terrible customer service and support
We had 8 Beacon Lighting ceiling fans installed in our new house. I reported that one of the fans had became faulty just 3 weeks outside the two year warranty. Beacon Lighting refused the claim, even though they legally are required to be a little flexible in regards to the warranty period. When I contacted the Melbourne office to complain about their decision, the Claims receptionist had no interest in listening to my complaint, was very rude, talking over the top of the information I was providing, continuing in rote that it was outside the...Read more

Judging by the other terrible reviews on this site, Beacon Lighting do not care in the least about the public perception of their service or products. Warrenty service
I bought four fans and after few weeks I found some faults. I lodged a warranty claim and I have to wait few weeks for a technician to come out. Its really hard to contact warranty services. But finally they fix my problem. Im happy with their services.

Had these for a while until I discovered DC fans.
You have to run the AC fans at full speed to be effective.
They eventually get too hot, noisy and die..
DC fans with the right pitch are great and cheap to run.

Shocking service and goods broken
Actual service on the day was non-existent and when finally served - we wanted 3 light fittings all the same - when they were being bought out by salesman he dropped one of the boxes and had to go back to get another one. We bought them Australia Day Weekend and then organised to have them put in by electrician this weekend. Had paid cash for the items but refund had to go to card as they had no cash. Now waiting to get the money into account and have not lights and paid an electrician for their time. Do not use their installation service
Sadly, I opted to have two fans installed by contractors of Beacon Lighting. We were told the fans would be installed within a few days. It was nearly 2 weeks before they were installed. Not the end of the world but after the installation, the hot water system failed to work. This wasn't discovered until the evening. The electrician was not able to attend so sent a colleague to fix it. I was left with a bill to pay. I have purchased two ceiling fans today (with lights). I got home and realized I don't need fans with lights as they are going into the living room which already has downlights. I would like to return them and but fans without lights. Will Beacon Lights allow me to do this? Also, I bought them from Beacon Lighting in Hoppers Crossing. I live in Geelong. Can I take them back to our local store?

I have purchased four DC ceiling fans so far from Beacon. The last two bought recently are the AIRFUSION TYPE A 60 DC FAN ONLY IN BLACK which were nearly $700 each. My question is related to a quiet clicking that can be heard when standing under all of the fans, except one of the new Type A 60's taht does not click. It is a very quiet tick tick tick that can be heard especially when on low speeds. What is this please?
